Because I'm an avid yelper, of course I went straight to yelp as a resource to help me find…read moreservices nearby. I've lived in the mosaic district 2 years this month (Dec.). I apparently attempted to try this business some time ago, thus I receive text alert coupons. I usually only wax in warmer months, pre-vacay, or prior to my annual girls trip. Im still not a real fan due to my horrible grow back struggles with ingrown hairs. Then after a positive experience elsewhere and my friend saying "waxing with consistency" will decrease ingrowns and your hair becomes softer, finer and takes longer to grow back each time. For this reason, I have attempted to continue on a schedule. I tried to book with Ms. Annie's a few times online. My account wouldn't work, so I called to get some assistance on this day. The young lady on the phone was in a rush. I wanted her to help get my online account working properly so I would have the ability to select any available appointments slots posted, service provider, and have option to cancel/ reschedule within limits posted. Instead of helping to get my online account working, she simply booked the appointment. I called back in less than 15 minutes to request a change. She said, I'll make the change, but you'll have a $50 fee whenever you reschedule. I was mortified! That wasn't really smart. The only thing it did was solidify that I definitely will never book at this business!!! Poor customer service and vibes!! Also the online scheduling system didn't work well at all!

I am responding to your claim that my communication today was "abusive" when I called about your…read moreuse of a debit card I had repeatedly asked you to remove from your system. I stated my concerns clearly, yet the first person I spoke with repeatedly talked over me and placed me on hold. While still on hold, I asked the second person I reached to speak with a manager; she stated she was out of town on business. Your attempt to characterize my communication as abusive appears to be an effort to deflect from the actual issue on your end: the retention and use of my debit card information without my express written consent, despite my asking on at least two prior occasions that it be removed and that only my AMEX remain on file. I am extremely concerned that your business continued to retain and use my debit card information without my authorization. Retaining a customer's payment information without explicit consent is inappropriate, raises serious privacy and security concerns, and may violate industry standards as well as applicable state consumer-protection regulations. I did not authorize your business to store my debit card information, nor was I informed that such retention would occur. To be clear: I will not tolerate false allegations about my behavior, nor improper handling of my personal financial information--especially when I contacted you specifically to address this issue. Your initial response--"You told us to bill you the late fee"--was both appalling and revealing. If you knew you had two cards on file, the appropriate course would have been to ask which card I preferred to use, particularly given our prior conversations. Instead, when I sought to understand why my bank card was still on file and used, I was met with a defensive and rude tone. You text patrons regularly; you could have just as easily texted me to confirm my preferred payment method. Had you extended that basic courtesy, I could have again reiterated my request to remove the debit card information. As I explained to the second individual, I was late to my appointment but had communicated this in advance to both the nail technician and the front desk via text. At no point did anyone respond to say, "Please do not come," in which case I would have turned around. Instead, I arrived at the establishment as scheduled, albeit late. During the course of our conversation, this individual repeatedly addressed me as "Dear" which was condescending and dismissive. I clearly stated that I do not wish to be addressed in that way--I am nearly 60 years old, and such familiarity in a conflict situation is inappropriate. Ultimately, my AMEX was charged $125 as a late/no-show fee--even though I did, in fact, show up late--and my debit card was supposedly credited, according to the second individual. The underlying concern remains: your business appears to retain all payment methods used by customers without obtaining express written consent or providing any disclosure in your text messages, receipts, or posted signage. I am fully aware of my rights under local and state consumer-protection laws, including the right to fair treatment, truthful interactions, and proper safeguarding of personal and financial information--which is precisely why I reached out in the first place. It is unfortunate that the initial staff member chose to become argumentative when I asked direct, legitimate questions and expressed understandable emotion. There is no justification for disrespectful treatment, nor for the false claim that I was asked to stop and refused. I will not accept being spoken to in a dismissive or unprofessional manner by any business that accepts my money yet fails to extend basic respect. I reiterated to the second person that my concern is fundamentally about being treated disrespectfully and about the unauthorized retention and use of my debit card. Your text message instructing me not to return carries no weight. The core issues are your handling of customer payment information and your staff's conduct--not my decision to raise valid concerns. To underscore that I was not upset about being rescheduled initially, I have attached the text exchange with my technician, which reflects a cooperative tone. My concern has consistently been the retention and use of a card I clearly asked you to remove. No one gave your business permission to keep that card on file after those requests.

I learned that it takes 3 seconds to ruin an eyebrow, and 3 months (at least) to fix it. So I waited. I hid the tweezers, and I waited some more. I went almost the whole summer without touching my brows (which was so, so hard). After being burned so many times (actually quite literally, in some cases), I had developed eyebrow trust issues. Not a single mall stand or nail salon could be trusted. That's where Anastasia comes in. It was so worth the wait (make sure to schedule in advance!), and so worth the money. Khatalina is a true artist that created gorgeous brows from a very difficult template. These truly are the eyebrows of my dreams and the very best I could imagine. Thank you Kat! Ladies, just say no to the 5 minute chop shops. Your eyebrows are one of the most important features of your face, treat them right!

My friend Devon F who is my guru for all things beauty related recommended the Anastasia Brow Studio at Tysons so I immediately decided to book an appointment using their easy online system. The hardest part of my appointment was looking for parking in the Tysons Corner parking lot. Maryam took me to her small beauty counter inside Nordstroms and lay me down for a consultation. What I really appreciated was that she took the time to measure my brows and stencil out what the end result would look like so I knew I'd be satisfied before she even got to work. The Anastasia brand believes in the beauty of full brows so I did not have to worry about looking like Kate Moss circa 1993. Maryam explained the whole process to me while working and had the gentlest touch -- it barely hurt at all! She also mentioned how I should maintain upkeep at home so I can eventually get to my full brow power level in a few months. I was super impressed! With easy booking and personalized service there is no doubt that I'll be back for a second appointment!
