I had my brows first done by Amy about two years ago and they completely transformed my look! I…read morewalked in to her super clean and cute office with barely any brows at all. They were super thin to begin with, and with age they had started to thin out even more. They were so thin, they disappeared in photos . Anyways, she helped me pick out color that would complement my ever changing hair color. The process it self isn't completely painless. She uses numbing creams on your brows so it is a lot less painful than getting a tattoo, but you do still feel the tools slightly on your skin. (A little) pain is beauty, right? Keep in mind your skin and your skin care routine can really impact how long it will take your brows to fade. You should expect to come in once a year for an annual touch up. Immediately after after a visit you'll need to avoid getting water on your brows for a day, and then avoid being in direct sunlight and sweating (I avoided taking cardio) for about a week for the ink to set. This is the same with tattoos (which I have a few of so I was prepared for this). Your brows will look darker than expected due to scabbing but your real brows will be revealed by the end of the week! One last thing to be prepared for: funny looks from people when your skin starts to heal and peel One patch of skin on my right brow which for no good reason just does not hold ink. It fades super quick compared to the rest which stays and fades consistently over a year, but this one spot just refuses to keep ink! Amy has been super helpful and nice in doing extra sessions to try going over that spot a bit extra. It's definitely easy enough to fill in this one spot with makeup but wanted to mention since Amy has done everything to to try to help it, but it's clearly an issue with that patch of skin. For you people who hate calling to make appointments, you can schedule online and even text her direct (I've sent photos of my brows this way) and she's super quick (within 24 hours) in responding!

Sometime in the last 3-4 years, my eyebrow hair has either slowed in growth or stopped altogether…read more I've been filling them in with eyeshadow or using those brow pens that draw a few thin lines at a time. I was chicken about this process because I wasn't sure about whether I could tolerate the pain or, even worse, I'd end up looking like Groucho Marx. I am not about the trendy, strong eyebrow game. I had been searching through Yelp and Facebook to see what reputable places offered microblading and I was about to head to Baltimore until I read all the reviews for Amy. And since location is also important, it helped that Microblading Magic & More was in Fairfax. Amy listens to your concerns and she definitely knows what she's doing. She makes herself available for any questions and she really knew what I wanted. She also told me exactly how my brows would heal, so I didn't freak out too too much. Amy knew that I didn't want strong brows, so I chose the shade lighter than black, which was maybe a brownish gray. During the healing process, your brows are pretty dark, and I actually grew to love the 'bolder' brows; so when I go back for my six week refresh, I'm choosing 'to go black.' I'm super happy that I took the plunge and got my eyebrows done. I had my misgivings, but beauty is pain right? If you're in the market for semi-permanent eyebrows, Amy of Microblading Magic is the real deal.

Booking was easy online, the location was very convenient to get to, I had no trouble finding parking, and the new location looks fantastic! The appointment took just under 2 hours and was very comfortable. The new studio is much bigger, very clean, and has a relaxing ambiance. If you're in the fence about getting your brows done, I highly recommend going to Borte.

I've gone to Tuull now a handful of times and I can say that she is an extremely talented artist…read more The first time I got my ombre brows, it was elsewhere. Although that person did a good job, I started following Tuull on social media around that same time and knew she would be the next artist I went to once I was due for a touch up. The person that first did my brows did a good job keeping things conservative (which I appreciated.) But at the one year mark, the work had shrunken and faded enough that it only looked a tad different from my natural brows so I went to Borte for that little extra razzle dazzle. It was super easy booking online and during our consultative visit, Tuull walked me through some options, asked me lots of questions and even sketched different stylistic approaches on my brows to then go home and think about. I then returned for my follow-up appointment and since then, two more touch up appointments over the past couple of years. She is a total pro and really knows what she is doing. My brows now frame my features in a much more defined way and it's freeing to not have to do my brows daily and still enjoy their framing once I wash my face or go swimming. Like with any powder brows, you've got to get your annual touch-up to keep them looking fresh (because fading is inevitable.) However, it's also nice to know that if you ever decide you no longer like that aesthetic, Borte also offers removal services as well. Thanks so my for the beautiful brows, Tuull!

I am sharing my experience so others can make an informed decision…read more On 12/31/25, I received a corrective eyebrow permanent makeup service. Prior to the appointment, I had uneven brows from previous work and sought correction to improve shape and achieve a softer brown tone. During consultation, I was told the brows could be corrected to appear more even in shape and color. After the procedure, my eyebrows remain uneven and appear significantly darker than what was discussed. The results do not reflect the agreed-upon outcome. On 2/25/26, I requested a refund and have not received a viable corrective solution that addresses my concerns. At this point, I am still attempting to resolve this directly and I am requesting a refund based on the outcome not matching what was represented prior to service. I have photos to prove that there was no change before and after the procedure.
