If you're looking for real, authentic coffee this is the place to visit! There are a selection of coffees imported from all over the world & each have a unique flavor. I often do not drink coffee unless I add a ton of sugar to it and usually cannot tell the difference between one that's higher or lower quality. When tasting 2 different coffees, I was able to taste the difference and didn't have to add a ton of sugar to enjoy them. The coffee beans are roasted and grinded right when you order them. To be honest, I am a tea drinker. Having said that, I must admit that this is the only coffee that could convert me to a coffee drinker. This is truly perfection, and compares to nothing else I have tried over the years. The beans are measured each time before being ground down, so each cup will consistently taste the same with every visit. Very nice service. I passed the roastery by accident, because it kind of blends in by quickly found it again. Walking in you can see the roasting equipment and a bunch of coffee, honey and jams for sale. I had their cold brew, which they had two types: a sweetened coconut one and the house blend. I went for the house blend and it was both strong and smooth. I also bought a small bag to go, which was out of stock in the front but they quickly filled a fresh bag for me. read more

I was in search of something refreshing and caffeinated this morning, and I'm so glad I found this place! There's not much in the way of seating, I think their focus is much more on roasting than being a "coffee shop"-- which is fine by me because they seem to be doing a great job! The people working were incredibly friendly and welcoming. I just got an iced coffee and was surprised to see it served from a nitro tap!! I've never seen coffee served this way before so I was quite impressed. It gives the coffee a unique (and enjoyable) flavor. I will definitely be back in here to try more. read more

I moved back to NJ in 2007 and have tried cafes and roasters all over NJ and NYC. I've found none better than Fair Mountain Coffee. I buy their whole beans and brew at home with a Hario V60, I prefer med-dark to dark roasts and theirs are all deep, rich flavor, without any unwanted bitterness and acidity. My favorites are Peru, Nicaragua, Kenya and Greg's Blend, but they are all great. Also be sure to try their Cold Brew Iced Coffee on Nitro tap, imagine a Guiness/iced coffee hybrid, it's the best most unique iced coffee I've had. If you're in the area you can find them at the Red Bank Farmer's Market on Sundays from 9-2, May-November. Great people, great customer service, environmentally- and socially-responsible business practices, and absolutely amazing coffee--give them a try, you'll be glad you did! read more

I've been saving money!!!! One of their first customers, a professional chef in NYC for over 30 years,I have a finicky palate. Having discovered the different taste of hand select artisan roast, most important fresh roast to order coffee bean ,I'm hooked. Every time I taste another coffee I'm disappointed. So I've given up coffee except for my fresh ground and brewed at home. In a restaurant I might get a cappuccino but that's it. This might sound a little crazy .... Picked up a medium roast and blend that was half dark and half light roast. They were both super dark and had that Starbucks ash tray taste.
