Fantastic Sandwich and exceptional service! First time in NY and couldn't have stopped at a better spot! Shout out to Matt, he is the man!

Once I find something, it seems that I need more of it. Maybe it is something saying I have an addictive personality, or maybe it is an experimental one. In any event, I have found yet another pork store to add to my vast collection of Italian markets to go to when I need some procured Italian meat or an authentic Italian sandwich. The meats here are fresh and delicious, and to get an Italian sandwich here is a must. All you have to do is ask the outrageously friendly staff and they will do it. Meats piled high on a crusty but chewy hero roll. It is funny because I had one in their Manhattan store and it was not as good. This was a delight. The staff is knowledgeable and right out of a Brooklyn that once was. A friendly butcher, beautifully arrayed food, all served with a smile and well wishes. I only wish more of Brooklyn was still like this. read more

It was crowded so I took a number and waited. While I waited i saw two roaches running around the floor. No biggie, it's a city , right? The paper thin hot housemade soppressta blew me away when the guy easily shaved off four slivers to try. I was warned this is the spot he frequented with his boys back in the day. And to see the 20 or so people standing in line for odds and ends amuck the raw meat buffet... I dared say I've had it before- soppressata. No big deal. I was frigging wrong. Way wrong. They are special here and you have to have it to know it. That's all I'll say. Then the rice balls. For $0.85 each- they are frigging phenomenal. Because I am lacking vocabulary today clearly. The cheapest one is the creamiest best $0.85 one can spend on anything. I promise. And the broccoli rabe and prosciutto ones were yummy too. Oh man, Faiccos serve everything. From tartufo to ready made pastas, dried goods from various popular and obscure vendors to housemade muzz to raw stuffed sausages and deli meat. I needed to buy some Italian goodies on a Tuesday and Pastosa was closed, so I went to my plan B, Faicco's. Faicco's sells everything Italian: Pasta, Sausage, chopped Meat, San Marzano Tomatoes, Olives and fresh Mozzarella. The store is very, very clean and they take the Covid-19 protocols very seriously. I would go more often but parking on 11th Avenue is difficult, and the staff can be a bit gruff. read more

Approaching this Italian Wonderland from outside starts the experience. 4 butchers assembling fresh sausages on the massive table in the side window. The organized system- ticket to get served- was fast and efficient. Our sales guide was terrific- provided tastings and great guidance and humor. The shop is clean, beautifully merchandised, and everything looks fresh and high quality. We stocked up for a couple of family dinners, chatted up some masked Faicco fans on our side of the counter ( wished our servers were masked because all else was safe). After living in Brooklyn for 25 years, I finally made it over to this world-famous place. I ordered 2 sandwiches and the guy was really helpful and helped guide me. The sandwiches were amazing. I opted for a fresh pork loin slices with mozzarella and roasted peppers. MMMM...... I made 2 meals out of that. I also picked up some cheese and some of the potato balls at .85 cents each. In total my bill was about $36. The downside is the schlepp over here. It's just not easy to get to, so you're either investing your time or the money for a car service back to home base. With that said, I'm going to try the one on Bleeker street in the city next time, just to compare. The cleanliness of the store, the freshness of the products and the professionalism of the staff speaks for itself. At the end of the day, you will be satisfied. read more

First time there. Didn't order much. The eggplant parmigiana was very thinly sliced. I was looking fir the eggplant! It tasted delicious. My only comment was that the sauce was just a but watery. I am not sure if it was frozen the thawed, or ..they just make a thinner sauce than I am used to. I go everywhere to try eggplant. Their chicken cutlets were delicious, though small. In a perfect world, I'd do my grocery shopping at a variety of small, locally-owned specialty markets. In this one, I make one stop at either Fairway or Whole Foods where I stock up on everything I need. This includes meat. Occasionally, though, I like to change up the routine by going to a butcher shop instead. That's how I wound up here: Anyway, since I had beef stew on the brain, I was instantly drawn to some gorgeous looking slabs of Chuck Roast. One of the counter guys pleasantly accommodated my request to cube up a couple pounds of this. Also got a few Rice Balls, that as it turns out, are fried to order. Yeah, that's right. Maybe I don't get out much, but the only other place I've ever seen do this was BK's incomparable Joe's Superette, which has been shuttered for years (R.I.P.). This shop is as immaculate and well-organized as everyone says. Plus all the enticingly displayed meats look uber fresh. At 6.50 per pound, the Chuck that I bought wasn't the cheapest, but for the quality, especially compared with the $8.99 per pound I believe I've seen at Whole Paycheck, err Foods, it was well worth it. Indeed. The aforementioned counter guy cubed it into perfect bite-sized chunks, rather than the typical pre-cut, randomly-sized pieces from the supermarket that, frankly, seem like they're scraps. As if that weren't impressive enough, it cooked up like buttah! As for those Rice Balls (.75 for classic Cheese; $1.25 for Prosciutto), for me, they did not fill the huge void left by Joe's Superette. But they came closer than all the others I've tried! Bottom line: As much as I wish I could include this shop as part of my regular weekly food shopping rotation, alas, ain't nobody got time for that. But you can bet I'll be plotting to return sometime soon try other things, including the Meatballs, Spinach Bread, & Sausage Bread that I spotted on this visit. read more

I love this place and the guys that work here are awesome. There always so fun and smiling. I go there for the usual few items that I can recommend and really wished I lived closer to buy products more often! To begin they do sell imported prosciutto di parma do I recommend it? absolutely is it cheap, NO! Is it worth it ABSOLUTELY! You will want to place your mouth under the prosciutto cold cut cutter. There sliced pepperoni is amazing and fresh! They also serve fresh cooked chicken cutlets which are good, not great but really good. There fresh mozzarella is worth it along with going for a block of there asiago cheese. Make sure to buy a pound of there sweet dried sausage just so so good! They have such a large selection of fresh meats such as fresh sausages definitely a good place to keep in mind when searching for fresh meats or, during the afternoon a solid good sandwich. On a side note, Parking is very difficult and is predominantly meters. SO beware. They accept credit cards and pack everything up so nicely, sealed, and double bagged. Definitely worth the visit and half and hour drive from my house to purchase my meats!! They sell canned tomatoes to make fresh tomato sauce and have a refrigerated section with some sauces and other products. read more

I have a few telling thoughts about this establishment where I have shopped for about forty years. Clean, clean and clean. Now, they are dealing with COVID with a store set-up as good as any I have seen. You come in and can get anything you want served any way you want it prepared. If they run out of an item and you can wait, they will prepare more for you. Real, honest Italian hospitality... Many (most) of the staff have been working here for years. How could that be? They are the friendliest crew I have ever encountered in a food service establishment. I have moved about sixty miles away and this is still my go-to for sausage (all kinds), cold cuts and prepared foods. If you enjoy mozzarella you owe it to yourself to get on over there. A solid a five stars with a push for being able to maintain such cleanliness, food quality and service for decades without a hitch. read more

Very few times does a 5 star place live up to every expectation you have for it... THIS PLACE DOES! The place is clean, well organized, and filled with many delicious items. This includes raw meats from the butcher shop or sandwiches from the deli side. You can actually see the butchers doing their work through the glass in the back room. There isnt a set menu for the sandwiches you can just choose whatever you want. I got the roast beef with mozzarella and it was divine. The thing that put it over the top was the bread. It was fantastic. This place is a gem and i would highly recommend it to anyone in the ny/nj area. Well done!!! I will be back very soon. read more

Been passing by Faicco's for about half my life and never stopped in for one reason or another (my loss). Was running errands in the neighborhood and needed to pick up bacon (and I knew Faicco's bacon was top notch from their burger at Prime Meats), so it was a perfect choice. You walk in, and you see all sorts of delicious meats in the deli cases, as well as a bunch of other Italian goods. Wish I had time (and appetite) for their famed sandwiches, but settled for their country-smoked bacon and some rice balls (and prosciutto balls). All delicious.
