Made a pilgrimage to this old school market after seeing the place featured on Brooklyn Bites. There's a limited selection of produce -- some well priced, but berries were pricey.The packaged meats were a pretty good value. I thought a rack of baby back ribs was excellent, but a quartered chicken was sloppily butchered. Steaks from the butcher were very good and also well priced. The prepared foods were not that visually appealing, although a cavatelli salad with broccoli was fresh and better than expected. Service was friendly and efficient throughout. I'd definitely shop here if I lived nearby, but it wasn't worth the trip from Westchester. I'll stick with Paisanos! read more

gotta rave about this awesome store I stumbled upon! Seriously, if you're craving authentic Italian flavors, this is the place to be. From the moment you walk in, the aroma of cured meats and simmering sauces hits you like a warm hug. They have everything from hand-rolled sausages to imported cheeses, and don't even get me started on their selection of olive oils and balsamic vinegars! But what really sets this place apart is the incredible service. There's this guy Chris who works there, and he's an absolute legend. Super friendly, always ready with a recommendation, and knows his stuff inside and out. cold cuts are always fresh. my issue is always the packaged food. i stopped buying the linguini in olive oil. id buy it 3-5 per week....and 3/5 times its sour/spoiled and in the trash it goes. thats about $45 a week in the garbage, so i stopped. the other day i bought the penne vodka...heated it up that night and as soon as i opened the microwave, this horrible pungent sour smell came out...we each tasted 1 penne....they were so sour. again, in the trash that went. when the packaged food isnt spoiled, its so good....but its a 50/50 chance. the other day i bought the stuffed cabbage, the sauce was so sweet, like EXTRA sweet, it was not good. Last year the deli got a new cook and things were looking up, but now, the salads are all back to tasting the same and like vinegar. please please please check on your packaged pastas. i check the date when i buy. i didnt look at the penne vodkas date tho, it was packaged 6 days earlier. what pasta is good after 6 days? sad face read more

I'd rate Meat Supreme there and a half stars. Came on a Saturday morning to pick up side dishes for a party. They have a great variety of cold sides. All the dishes were good and I didn't have any complaints. Their seafood salad was a hit. Pricing was reasonable, and service was quick and helpful. read more

Came here today to pick up some deli meats from their deli counter and of course some of their fresh baked breads (got 2 loafs of Italian bread). I got sandwich fixings and extra bread for when I make my beef stew dinner tonight. They always have great customer service here. Friendly staff always. Great attitude and delicious food. I drive from the eastern end Sheepshead Bay to shop here. The deli department is aces. They still cook their own roast beef, top round, roast pork, prepare their own friend foods, & do a great job of it. The counter people are NICE & actually slice all meats perfectly, nice & thin. The pasta & other salads are great. Bleieve it or not, there seems to be no other store left in this end of Brooklyn that performs on the same level. read more

They take phone orders for delivery in a timely fashion. Avenue U location is pristine clean, cashiers and other workers are very nice and helpful. OK,, so I have been shopping here for a few weeks and was always satisfied with their selection of meats, cold cuts, breads (so good) and home made prepared foods. So when it was time to have a July 4th BBQ, I headed over to place an order. I received amazing 1:1 customer service and was guided through their BBQ menu and offered suggestions and alternatives. No hard sell and very patient. I asked for the delivery on the 4th and voila!! Delivered at 10 am. The food order was perfect. Everything packaged so that all I had to do was take it to the grill. Now comes the kudos. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS! My guests loved the marinaded chicken and steaks. The sausages were obviously made in the store and so meaty and tasty. I was more than happy with everything, Not to rush the summer, but we have already decided on who is catering our Labor Day BBQ. Thanks guys for everything. Ya did good. read more

I will never come in here again. I use to shop here like twice a week but never again. I came in to purchase two sirloin steaks for dinner. Was a little hesitant about spending $7.99 especially since they were boneless but I did it anyway. I brought them home and started to prepare to cook them. As I opened the packages one of the steaks wasn't even an inch thick the second wasn't even sirloin it was a skirt steak and it smelled completely sour. I had to throw it out. I am appalled that a place that is suppose to be known for their meat has thrown out all standards and sold a product that is inedible. Despite the fact that their cashiers are very rude I was willing to look past all of that for a good product, but they couldn't even provide that I will never come here again read more

I've been a customer of Meats Supreme for many many years and I've never had anything less than a 5***** experience but earlier this afternoon the staff managed to outdo themselves. I was buying some cold cuts at the deli counter and noticed that Vito (the deli guy) was gonna throw out some end pieces of the eye round roast beef. I told Vito how much I loved these end pieces and finished my order. While waiting to check out, Vito took the time to wrap up a bunch of end pieces and stepped out from the deli section to personally hand deliver the end pieces to me at no charge. I just had to share my pleasant experiences with Meats Supreme and their warm, friendly, and professional staff. With this awful pandemic gripping the world, these guys and gals put their own health, safety and lives on the line to serve their customers to which they deserve high praise. Meats Supreme put their customers first and its much appreciated by this writer. Keep up your great work guys. I'll be seeing you in a couple of days. PS: I'd be remiss if I didn't extoll the virtues of manager Joe at the gourmet premium steak section. Joe has that old school mentally and way about him and makes me feel like an MVP when I shop there. Beautiful corner shop located on Avenue U with plenty of great meats (Shocker) and other groceries. They have fresh breads and a variety of sides like macaroni,potato and german potato salad. I love to go in, grab a roll and hand it to them, they then work the magic on it by adding the meats,cheeses and other toppings I request. Great workers that always seem to be in a good mood and willing to help you out if you need it. Check it out and get a great lunch for a reasonable price. They sell 3-6 foot heroes and also cater for parties. Around Christmas they also put together holiday meals if you are like me and prefer to down some wine or Guinness with family, instead of schlepping over a hot stove all day. The difference between this Meat Supreme and the others in the nearby area is at this specific location they have a bread baker on site. You can get freshly baked straight out of the oven Italian bread that you cannot get at any of the other Meat Supreme locations. Just be careful when you are buying the bread. When I say hot, I literally mean just came out of the oven you WILL get burned. There are two kinds. With or without sesame seeds. If a whole loaf of Italian bread is too much bread, there are smaller loaves as well. On certain days of the week, you can find specific items. Lard bread can be found on Fridays/Saturdays (Don't quote me.) Their deli has a huge selection of cold cuts and salads. My favorite salad is the apple salad which is not available all the time. When if is available, it sells out fast. It has apples, grapes, walnuts, blue cheese, spinach, with a balsamic vinaigrette. The apple salad and some fresh bread makes a great lunch. The deli counter staff and catering staff are great. I gave it four out of five stars because I feel when you're waiting in line to pay, the young cashier staff should be more attentive and more vocal to inform customers that they're ready for the next person. read more

My sorority in Brooklyn uses Meat Supreme from time to time and we have always loved the food and service. When planning a retirement lunch for my office manager, I decided to try them out....my office is in the Wall Street area and the prices of catering near the office are ridiculous...First Joe and Michael were professionals....they worked to make the price for the meal fair....So glad I stuck with Brooklyn business......got the delivery for a 12 noon at 9 am...idea for us since we had time to make sure the food was piping hot for the guests who raved about the food...delicious and plentiful... we will be back again!! read more

I get ALL of my meats and deli items from Meats Supreme. My boyfriend and I moved into the Gravesend area 5 months ago and the broker who found us the apartment highly suggested Meats Supreme for groceries and meat. Their Italian sausage is outstanding! They have a great assortment of cold cuts and cheeses. Their sides are really good too..try the cranberry, apple, and walnut salad and their couscous salad. Everything they sell is good quality and priced well. Defiantly love this place. read more

I went back there today having not shopped in MS for a while, and I bought a pre packed linguine w/white clam sauce. It sucked. All I tasted was red pepper flakes and JARRED garlic. For this high priced dish I paid for garlic from a jar and an overabundance of parsley. This neighborhood needs a supermarket to knock them off the block. read more

OMG, this Italian Pork Store, Deli, catering just started making pizza. They gave samples to us and I have never tasted pizza this good. It was old school pizza from back in the day. I was in the store, while customers were tasting the samples and all I heard was, I will take 2 pies, half a pie, and so on. Excellent sauce, crust and the whole package. So you can shop and eat at the same time. I like any store that offers samples of their food. I will definetly go back for a slice or two or maybe a whole pie. Been shopping there for a very long time. Even though the meat prices were too high, my family went there at least 3 times a week for sandwiches. Today was the end of this. I ordered a basic turkey and cheese on a roll, went to the register and when told that it was $7.50 plus tax, I finally said enough. Never paid more then $5 plus tax there before. They even had the audacity to make a bogus statement about how the $5 sandwich was only a recent sale item. For years, that was the price. Now they even weigh the meat and cheese before putting it on roll. I watch as they put a little tuna in a container to weigh it before making a sandwich. I go one block up and get a larger sandwich for $5. Supreme also wants $8.50 if you want a stingy sandwich on a hero. Bye bye Meat Supreme. You just lost my family. read more

My grandmother lives in the area and I've come in here several times over the years to help her with her grocery shopping. This place has a great meat selection and lots of fresh bread they have delivered on a daily basis. They also a great deli department with every deli meat and cheese you can think of. They have some nice meats but it's not real butcher quality. Still, I love their mini burgers, and the chicken sausage. They make some nice ready made meals and salads. It's not cheap though. Especially the produce. My son wanted an apple and it was like $3+. Pretty horrific. There is a produce place down the street on the other side of W 6th that is better. Also the staff can be pretty annoying. The cashiers can be totally rude. They are always talking to each other, and sometimes they don't even acknowledge you at all. There is a pork store down the block near W 7th and they are much nicer but they don't have the selection. They do have amazing olives though! Lol. The deli guys here can be really rude. I once went in there in buy some cold cuts and some guy had the nerve to act like he didn't hear me because I mispronounced one of the names of the cold cuts. Give me a break! Other times these guys will ask you your order multiple times rather than just getting you your cold cuts. Then when you do finally get what you ordered, chances are they got something wrong. This place needs to get it together! read more
