If they had 10 stars I would give it to them! This is NOT chain store with the same old lens options. It is a family business and Alex was born into it. He helped his father from childhood and is familiar with lenses from the backside. This means he knows how to give you what you want, even when it's not on the menu! My story goes like this. I was tired of wearing, or should I say juggling, my "readers" so I decided to get a cute pair of bifocals that I could wear all the time.(I wore bifocals for two decades in the 80s and 90s when my sight was perfect but I needed them only to help keep my eyes from straining while doing computer work.) The only type that seems to be available now from any of the chain stores are "Progressives." OMG. I ordered a $500 pair from Sears optical. Upon their arrival I couldn't believe the distortion. I honestly cannot believe anyone would wear these! As I said, I have worn bifocals before and peripheral distortion didn't exist. I literally had a tiny spot in the middle to look through. Seriously? Peripheral vision makes up 59% of our vision! So with my fingers crossed, I went to see Alex. He had done glasses for my daughter a couple of years back. He heard my frustration. I wanted no magnification all the way across the top and magnification all the way across the bottom. That way there is 0 distortion, simply magnification. We discussed an old school way of doing bifocals called the Executive. And it's exactly as I described. And it's perfect! Throughout my day I'm looking through the top and when I have to read the fine print at the grocery store, I'm looking through the bottom. They are darling glasses with Zeiss lenses. (Zeiss is a German company that has made the finest optics in the world since 1846 when they started with microscopes. I know them from their very exclusive camera lens optics.) Try finding Zeiss at the chain stores - which by the way are ALL owned by the same company, did you know? No wonder they all offer the same exact services. I really appreciate that Alex knows the craft and how to make what you want, not just what some corporate office says he can do. He saved me! I had been everywhere and NO ONE offered anything but yukky distorted Progressives! I'm here to tell you there are options and alternatives. You don't have to settle. But Alex is the only person with enough knowledge and background to be able to give them to you. read more
