I've been seeing Nancy for massage therapy since late 2016 (Take Time Massage) and I try to get in at least twice per month. It's obvious that she has a lot of loyal regular clients for all of her services and I noticed that she even has several male clients that get facials. Although my skin is in fairly good condition, I do have some pores that have congestion. I was a bit reluctant to try but since I trust Nancy and she's gotten great reviews, I decided to get a facial. I have no idea why I assumed only women got them but I did. Since it was my first time I asked Nancy to let me know what she was doing as she went along. Every step of the process, Nancy explained what she was doing and why. She even told me about the products she was using. I really enjoyed that and appreciated the extra effort. Not only does she take good care of your skin she adds a shoulder, neck and arm massage to really complete the overall experience. I couldn't believe how smooth my skin felt right after my facial but also for days to follow. It was very refreshing, relaxing and my pores were clear. The facial was definitely beyond my expectations so I was extremely pleased. I will definitely continue to get facials in addition to getting my regular massage therapy sessions. I was optimistic that I'd find my go-to local facial spot after reading reviews, however I had an unpleasant experience with Nancy, for multiple reasons: 1) She was 15 mins late for our 10am appt 2) I happened to mention at the start of our appt that I had a massage scheduled for later. Nancy let me know she provides massage services as well. Despite expressing I'm happy with my massage therapist, she spent the entire appointment prying about him (location, experience, etc) in what seemed like an attempt to convince me she is better. Even when the subject changed, she repeatedly came back to it. 3) She prides herself on including a complimentary neck and upper back massage as a part of the facial (mentioned it to me on the phone and text). However, when I requested more pressure during the massage portion, she became defensive and said, "This is a facial, not a massage" and that I should schedule a massage if that's what I want. I did not feel like my muscles were massaged at all. If you're going to include a massage of your own accord, why be so defensive when the client makes a request regarding pressure? It was uncomfortable. 4) I got two dark spots on my face where Nancy did extractions. This has never happened before. I texted to ask about it and she insinuated it's because I'm Indian and Indian women tend to have hyperpigmentation in general... despite my saying I've never had this issue. Overall, I did not feel she was professional or knowledgeable and did not appreciate her attitude. Giving 2 stars because the products seem like high quality. read more

Just discovered this place and I love it. Been in Santa Clara so long didn't know it's so close to home . Nancy the owner is very nice and works alone so you don't have to deal with other people . She's very knowledgeable with her skills having had more than 20 in the business. Place is clean and it's not one of those places that's very pricey This going to be my new facial and massage place to go if I want to pamper myself. read more

After she finished with her other client, we spent a few minutes talking about my skin type and about my needs in a facial. The place is small, but it is clean and quiet as others have mentioned. The facial was great. Super relaxing. My skin felt very clean and refreshed. She also gave me samples of the products she used on my skin. Excellent service. Excellent personality. I really enjoyed this facial and will be back for another! *One thing I would like to point out is that Nancy doesn't use the internet, so she doesn't even know that she is highly rated on yelp! ^_^ read more

I love Nancy. She is so sweet and gentle! She uses Yonka products for her facials. 1. The place is not fancy, but it's very clean and comfortable. 2. Prices are very reasonable. 3. I get facials on a regular basis, and have paid 3x as much at fancier spas, but didn't get the personalize treatment that Nancy provided. 4. I've been going to Nancy for more than a couple of years now for facials. I go to Nancy every 4 weeks for a facial and my skin has improved since I started going to her! After each facial, my skin glows and looks amazing for days. Along with the facial, she also gives a wonderful massage to the neck, shoulders, back and arms and it feels relaxing . Best facial ever! Been coming for years despite living over an hour away. Nancy is kind and thoughtful. She spends a long time with extractions and any other skin concerns, and you really get your money's worth even more! She respects if you just want to be silent listening to soothing music or will chat with you. I like her immensely but my review is about her quality of the facials, and by far the best I ever had! She turned troubled skin around in just a couple sessions. I always get complimented on my skin despite hormone and age changes. My secret weapon against aging and acne ... FacialPlus! It's small but extremely clean and quaint. It also smells really good in here. Our friend recommended here for eyebrow waxing and I'm glad she did. Nancy is wonderful. She is very accurate and gentle. The wax she uses is lot more gentle than other places. It took a while but that was because she wanted to make sure they were perfect and they were. Not only was she super friendly, but the ladies who came in to get things done were also very friendly. The fact that all the people that go in here are regulars is a huge sign of how good she is. Tried this place on a whim, was pleasantly surprised by the attention to detail Nancy offers! The salon is no-frills, but Nancy really takes her time to customize your treatment. She even sent me home with some samples of make-up remover that I loved, and ended up buying. Can't wait to go back, and the pricing is super reasonable. read more

Wow! So I sch an appt here for a facial. I had first called and spoke with Nancy who is the esthetician. I asked for the prices and they range from $55 to $75. I needed the one with the extractions because i had lots of black heads. When I first got there I was excited. She cleansed my pores and extractions. They she did a mask on me and while I was waiting....she massaged my arms. That was great! Then when I was done, she charged me exactly what she said she would $75. I like this because there are other places where you will ask for a price and when you pay.....it ends up being twice as much! She also informed me that she accomadates to what your looking for. Nancy is great! I don't trust anyone else with my eyebrows. She is a perfectionist when it comes to eyebrows, so it makes me feel more at ease and I have never been disappointed. She is also great at facials. A few interruptions here and there when she answers phone calls or the door, but the facial is relaxing and worth it. She does a little bit of massage with the facial too, which is great! You leave feeling very relaxed and want to come back for more. read more

I called in and was lucky to get a same day appointment for a facial. After reading all other yelp reviews, I decided to go ahead with the appointment. Like everybody else here has said, Nancy is amazing! The facial space, though small and simple is very neat and clean. Nancy realllly takes the time to work on your skin and her treatment is not bound by a ticking clock set for x minutes. The results are noticible right away and the price paid is worth every penny. Nancy was just as great for facial as all others review say and more. She worked on me for almost 1.5-2 hours but charged me the same [which i later felt bad about]. that just tells me its about quality and not lets-charge-with-timer sort of business. All products smelt great and herbal. It was not like other facials where they just put something on my face one after another and i just sit there. Nancy massaged and helped exfoliate. She also does facial process on shoulder and neck area. massages neck, arms, shoulders. It feels very relaxing and refreshing. She was the only one there and since its appointment based, it feels more personal than a chain store business. I also got suggestions on how to control acne and keep my skin healthy. I got sample products she used and a booklet to look thro' other possible items that may suit my skin. I have been getting facials at Facials Plus with Nancy for over seven years. I have tried other places (Burke Williams, spas while on vacation) and a facial with Nancy is by far the best one I have ever had! She uses high quality products and she is a certified massage therapist - the massage that comes with the facial is heavenly! She takes her time and she's really nice. I was visiting friends in Santa Clara and had a day to myself. Went on Yelp and saw some great reviews on Facials Plus and it was super close to where I was and they were running a promotion on Yelp. So I dropped in for a facial and a manicure (it was a combo offer). I don't know if it was an off day for Nancy or it is that I have had better facials, but I was really disappointed. This is a really small place next to some not so fancy shops - so people who are expecting a fancy spa please be warned. It is a cozy place but clean. The facial was really basic even though the deal on Yelp was for a full service 60 min facial plus a manicure. Nancy finished the facial with a few interruptions - she had to pick up the phone a few times and answer the door once - not what I was expecting on my relaxing spa morning! But it would have still been ok with me if the facial had been great! When I asked her about the manicure she said she did an advance facial and so the cost was adjusted and so no manicure! I was really surprised because 1) the facial itself was very short - I think I was done in about 40 mins or so (and the list price for this was USD 90+!) 2) I had no idea what was advanced about the facial she gave me 3) she never checked with me on doing 'advanced facial' and switching it with the manicure. Plus it did nothing for me skin. But she did give me a few samples of the product she used. But overall the experience was a let down for me. It was an awful experience! My face looked terrible after for days -- I had one or two raised pimples and she used needle all over the face and I left with so many red blotchy spots on my face. I couldnt even go to the party for which I got the facial to get a lift. and the massage is is really her touching your neck it even rubbing! Do Not Waste your money and time!!
