I had a 1.5-hour therapeutic massage today. My MT was Andrea Galacia and she was amazing. She hit every point in my body in need and I left feeling so renewed, highly recommend her services. read more

This was a great sports massage session and I'm glad I found this on Yelp. Estrella provided a thorough massage leveraging gua sha and cupping along with good pressure and deep tissue to get to the knots and kinks and to promote blood flow. I would definitely recommend and will be sure to visit again in the future. read more

I highly recommend this place and Andrea. The place is so clean, relaxing and smells amazing. I was able to book with her so easily. Booked a Swedish but they do tailor the massage to you depending on your needs. She really got in there and I've just felt amazing ever since. I will definitely be going back and booking one for my husband as well. read more

I've been seeing Estrella for a while now, and she's helped me through several foot injuries. What stands out most is how closely she listens -- she always finds my problem areas fast and knows exactly how to treat them. I leave every session feeling so much better. Can't recommend her enough!" read more

I first booked with Andrea back in January and I've been coming back at least once a month since. She knows how to work out the muscles with the upmost care that I always leave feeling like a brand new person. She's very kind and easygoing which made the experience even more relaxing. I booked my mom a massage for this mother's day and my mom was raving about how much she enjoyed Andrea and how well she took care of her. Needless to say she will be booking with her again! read more

Love love love AMM. Husband and I have been going there for over 10 years to help with our tight muscles and back pain. Cynthia is amazing at therapeutic deep tissue and helps me out every time I go in. She is extremely knowledgeable and detailed. Estrella is terrific at working out those odd knots that crop up for no reason. She is a wizard with cupping as well. Andrea is excellent, especially with relaxing massages. Can't say enough about how much I appreciate them. read more

Highly recommend. I initially started coming to Astounding Massage Management for prenatal massages. They took amazing care of me from 2nd trimester all the way through postpartum. In the 3 years since, I've come with all sorts of different ailments over the years, and they really take the time to hear what I'm saying, and then to feel it out and understand my pain points before really getting into it. I feel like a new person every time. The massage studio is super clean and relaxing. The heated sheets and music are great. Cynthia and Estrella are my girls! Whether you're in pain or just need to relax and take some time for yourself, I highly recommend them. read more

How have I not written a review yet?? I LOVE coming to Astounding Massage. It's quiet, calm, relaxing. Exactly what I'm looking for. The other day, I came with the worst neck and shoulder ache. I was having a hard time moving my neck left and right. Walked out of there FEELING LIKE A NEW WOMAN. Sore for sure but the good kind of sore. The next day, I FELT EVEN BETTER. They also do great pregnancy massages! I came during my pregnancy and I remember feeling sooo good during and after the massages. Love coming here! read more

ESTRELLA was my massage therapist for my session. She paid great attention to my needs & was very details within her massage. She was very nurturing, mindful, & affective within her session. Highly recommend booking with her! read more

First time getting a massage and Andrea was great! She made sure I was comfortable and the pressure she was applying was fine. Super friendly and nice. And it was very obvious that she knew exactly what she was doing. read more

Cynthia and Estrella are experts in their field. I have been going to them for the last 3 years. I've gone for pain related issues and have always left with relief. They listen to you, and work hard to clear out any knots and break fascia. I only wish I could go every week :) read more

Came here due to the awesome reviews I saw online and have to say I wasn't disappointed. First off, everything was very near and tidy and the entrance was well lit. I got checked in right away to a big room which was a delight: usually massage rooms are small spaces but this felt really spacious and it's well suited for couples massages as well. I had my massage with Estrella who was strong and attended very well to my deep tissues. I mentioned areas where I wanted deep pressure which she did a great job of, but that deep pressure continued everywhere else too which was then painful from time to time. I think I will remind more next time onwards. Overall it was a good experience. Very few professionals can attend to the deep pressure so I am glad Estrella did a good job of that. read more

Amazing strong massage. I have been trying massage at all over the place in San Jose- Bay Area. No one has done it like Andrea. I have a chronic neck and shoulder pain due to my desk job and Andrea did an awesome job in addressing all those knots in my neck and shoulders. Love it!! read more

In my original review, I wrote that I would write an update if I heard from the owner regarding my refund. Well I did hear back from the owner. She apologized for the delay in responding and agreed to refund my money. Very happy to get a response back, and even happier to get a refund. Wish I didn't have to wait this long and fight so hard to get it, but I got it, and so I'll shut up and end it here! :) read more

Astounding, Amazing, Incredible they all apply! They are located fairly close to O'connor hospital in what looks like a former medical office complex. However once you walk in the front door which is on the second floor, I think I saw an elevator, you are warmly greeted and the entrance is very inviting and relaxing. They talk with you again just to confirm what services you are in need of and asking if you have any particular areas of concern. They also ask about medical issues that are of importance or would affect the massage. The massage rooms are well appointed, soft music plays and I loved the heated table. Many thanks to massage therapist Andrea Galicia. A massage is supposed to help you relax, to help your muscles relax and the tight knots get out. At other places, they claim to be deep tissue but end up being a fluff and buff!. That's not the case at Astounding. When I scheduled my appointment I told Andrea that I needed a deep tissue massage. She asked how much pressure and I told her I needed strong hands and that I have some incredible knots in my shoulders and legs. So I did a lot of stretching before my appointment to loosen up as much as I could. Haha, believe me she used all of her training and skills to really get to the problem areas and work on the knots and tight muscles. She did an incredible job! Since we discussed some particular problem areas ahead of time she was able to concentrate on them and not the areas I was not concerned about like my back. My shoulders weren't very tight but she loosened them up as well. The incredible knots in my calves and hamstrings were ... well incredible and she did an amazing job on them. I'll definitely be going back, perhaps for a couples massage. read more

I needed a seriously deep tissue massage. I needed someone not afraid to go hard and dig into my knots because I work out 5 - 7 days per week and also have a desk job. Astounding Massage delivered! They also used cupping techniques to really get at my knots on my back. I knew my muscles hurt and were very tight, but the difference was, well, astounding. My neck, shoulders, and back felt immediately better after the appointment. There was some bruising but I fully expected it with how hard I wanted them to go. If you want a place that delivers on your your request, then come to Astounding Massage. read more

I received a gift certificate for an hour massage. My massage was done by Cynthia, and I have to say that it lived up to the business name...it was astounding. Cynthia listened attentively to my description of my many personal details about post-car accident and surgery pressure sensitivities, and checked with me throughout the hour to make sure I was comfortable. The massage was both therapeutic and relaxing--better than many I've received at high-end spas. I'd schedule a repeat weekly if I could! Highly recommended! read more

Thank you my group of friends who introduced me to Cynthia!!! I've always had knots in my shoulder blade I've felt with it went to many massages but could never really stick to one place. They where good but not a as good as Cynthia. After every massage my head is clearer and my shoulders are sooo much lighter. She will tailor the massage for you :) best massage place to go read more

They are the best part of my self-care routine. All 3 of the masseuses do a great job. They listen to what you need, get in and feel for anything else, and leave me feeling refreshed. I have been getting massages for years and have many masseuses to judge them against. I prefer a Swedish massage than a deep tissue. I hesitate to give 5 stars because I don't want them to get too busy. read more

Pros: great service. Very friendly staff. Scheduling website was convenient. It should include directions on where to go once inside the suite. I went upstairs to 202 only to be notified that there is another room downstairs by another client. Cons: hard to find. I circled twice to find parking when it was just out front. Going inside the hardwood floors was loud and you can hear people as they walked around and even the people upstairs. The reception area was a bit small. read more

One of the better massages I've had in my life. This isn't one of those relaxing massages where you accidentally fall asleep. It hurts SO good, but they will fix all of your problems and knots and aches. I've heard wonderful things about the owner Cynthia, but have only seen Estrella since Cynthia's schedule fills up pretty quickly. Estrella is amazing and always learning new techniques and tricks. She listens to your concerns and makes sure to address them. I've suffered from TMJ for years and seen multiple doctors, chiropractors and even tried Botox for it. Tonight estrella used some face cupping techniques that literally re adjusted my jaw and fixed my issues. I am always so satisfied after leaving. Their new office is really nice as well! read more

Astounding Massage is the place to go! Scheduling is easy and they get back to my calls as soon as they can. This review is base on two appointments: one with Cynthia and one with Andrea. Both these ladies do great work in their unique way! Quick review of the place: rooms are nicely decorated, love the music, and waiting area is inviting. My first appointment I got a full body massage by Cynthia. She used various strokes in different areas of my body. I liked the tools she used to compliment her work. I also got some deep work done in focused areas. I loved the gel she used to massage me. It felt amazing when I left! I felt so great after my massage that I didn't want to drive back home! :) Thank you Cynthia My second massage was with Andrea. She did some deep work in my glutes, back, shoulders, and neck. I noticed she uses pressure in areas for long periods. I like the deep work she does! I think it is important to let her know if it is too much. I let her do her thing because I really needed it! I felt great after our session! Thank you Andrea! read more

Cynthia was so lovely and professional. I had the one hour Swedish massage and she checked in often to make sure the pressure level was comfortable for me. The space is clean and welcoming, and you can't help but notice how she's thought of everything. Little refreshments, water bottles, tissues - you feel very taken care of. I would absolutely recommend! read more

Made an appointment by calling 4hours ahead. I had a hard time finding the building because all the rain! It's on the 2nd floor of the building. Andrea Galicia was pleasure to work with. I told her I have been having neck pain for a week or 2 and I wanted to focus on my upper for a 60min massage. As soon as I arrived for the therapy, she greeted me with a big smile and asked if I need to use the restroom. During the massage, she kept checking if the pressure was okay. Andrea has firm hand and knows the pressure points. Good ambience - the music makes you fall sleep while getting the massage. Left this place feeling much relived than when I walked in. I will be coming back very soon! read more

Damn my ass and legs were killing me during pregnancy. But the masseuse here was heaven. She worked all my joints and points like no other. I asked for medium pressure, it was sort of hard and painful but the good kind of hard and painful. After an hour and a half I walked out feeling like a million bucks. So relaxed and so pressure free. Great job! read more

I honestly feel like Astounding Massage is the best kept secret in the Bay Area. Every single massage I've ever had with Cynthia or her colleagues has been, well, astounding. It's not just relaxing - it's next-level therapeutic. I recently referred my husband to her, after suffering from a bad case of tennis elbow for over two years and getting no relief from doctors or PT. Her knowledge of musculature and her ability to pinpoint exactly how to address issues with it are unreal. He's already improved dramatically after just a couple sessions. We are definitely fans for life. read more

Love, love Astounding! Cynthia and her staff are the best. My review is very long overdue as I've been a client for the past 2.5 years! They are the best little secret in town and I always feel like a million bucks when I leave. Thank you for everything and the friendship we've built. read more

Cynthia is an awesome therapist/healer of the body. Her clinic is professional, inviting/warm and therapeutic. She is caring, motivated and knowledgeable. Conveniently located near O'Connor Hospital in San Jose. Parking is easily accessible and in a pleasant quiet neighborhood. Most credit cards accepted along with checks/ cash. read more

Found Astounding Massage when searching for a place that does myofascial release treatment for my chronic back pain. I was thrilled to see a business so highly rated and the site seemed like it would provide services that could help with my issues. Easily made an appt online for next day when my back was really bother me. I added a note with details of my chronic back pain, which was a nice option. Came in on a Sunday and it was so dead in the parking lot, I thought I was in the wrong place. The office is in a property that looks like an old 80's style apt building made into a makeshift office; it wasn't that inviting. Andrea was warmly welcomed me. From the Yelp reviews, it seems like Cynthia is the main massage therapist to see. Andrea was very friendly and made me comfortable. Her massage was firm, but there were times she seemed to hesitate or not go all the way through where I felt a knot was about to get hit. As other reviews mentioned, she did talk a bit during the massage, which was ok. I found the massage to be good (on a 1-10 scale, I'd say it was a 7 or 7.5), however, I have chronic back pain and need real therapy. I made two appts - one here and one at MyoTechnology for the next day to see the difference and which one was better. If you have chronic back pain, I'd say MyoTechnology will more likely be a fit for you. If you need a good massage, I would recommend this place. read more

OK a WOW! First time here and I'll be back for sure. Haven't had a massage in a long time so it much much needed and long over due. I was sure sore from the gym and was desperate for a massage. Scheduled an appointment based off Yelp reviews. Nikki was AWESOME! I could tell she felt ever single sore spot on my body. She didn't spend lots of time gathering supplies or grabbing lotion, as I feel high end spas do, almost like they want to spend less time on the actual massage , anyway she got straight down to business! THANK YOU NIKKI read more

Every valentine's day my fiancé asks what I want and I always say the same thing "a massage". So he did some searching and he came upon this little place. I was excited b/c I needed this! The place is not a spa. It's in a in little office building but it's nicely decorated and comfortable. The massage was great! I walked out feeling so relaxed. read more

This review is long overdue, but anyways this review is for a visit on September 1st, 2017. My cousin was coming to town that weekend, and we wanted to get a couples massage in the San Jose area. Luckily, I was able to book a massage with this place about a week before my cousin came. I had no problem booking an appointment, all I did was go online, pick the day and the time and that was it! Upon arriving at this place, the atmosphere was nice and calm. My cousin and I felt very welcome, and the first thing they asked us to do was fill out the info sheet. After that Cynthia and Andrea ( the ladies who were going massage us), took us to the couples room and told us what to do. I frequently have massages, but this was my cousin's first time so it was really nice of them to go over some basics before the massage. Now for the actual massages. THEY WERE GREAT!! My cousin and I really enjoyed our massages, it was amazing for both of us! Cynthia and Andrea were both awesome and checked in with us to see how the pressure was. Afte the massage, Cynthia and Andrea let us know what they felt while massaging us like where we had the most tension and stuff like that. Before leaving they gave us water and chocolates! Overall this was a terrific experience, and I would really like to go back but I just haven't had the time yet. Hopefully, I can go sometime soon! read more

My masseuse was Nikki, she's excellent, over the years I have been to many places, this one is something worth experiencing, went with cour muscles and severe body ache and my masseuse worked on all the areas on unlocking the knots and relaxed them. I have been reading good reviews on this place, especially on Cynthia's work, i couldn't meet her, maybe next time. i would highly recommend Nikki as well. keep up the good work team! read more

Got in on short notice. Had a sciatic nerve pinch hit a few days prior that really hit hard and slowed me down to a crawl. Cynthia listened to my issue and worked her magic. Feeling so much better. Think I'm going to have to become a regular to stay the hands of time. As I'm getting older, starting to feel more pains in places that never hurt before due to the nature of my job. Highly recommend their services. read more

Taking note of Harini's review that 60 minutes is too short, I booked a 90 minute couple's massage for the beau and I for his birthday. Cynthia responded back right away and was very accommodating to the time I wanted. The place is super cute and easy to find. Parking spaces were clearly marked 'Visitors' so it was a no brainer on where to park. Cynthia and Nicole were waiting for us upstairs. After she asked us about our preferences, Nicole led us in the room to get undressed. Nicole worked on me, and had very strong hands. I told her I worked at a computer desk all day long, and she really worked my upper back, especially my scapular area! I was pretty sore the next day. She also massaged my pectoral area and when she did, I knocked out! It was THAT good. The beau loved Cynthia's massage. He has a problematic back and she relieved it for him for the rest of the day. I liked that she kept asking him how he felt and if the pressure level was good. He told me after that her massage was amazing. Afterwards, she gave us some exercising tips to go and I gave her a 20% tip back. ;) Tip: Check in when you get there so you can get an extra 15 minutes added to your massage! read more

Let me give you some insight on the stress I put my body through: I'm a grappler. I do martial arts. I literally take a beating 2-3 hours a day, 6 days a week as a hobby. I had just finished a competition and my body was feeling it. My shoulders were so tight, it was hard to even reach around my back to scratch it. My elbow was also messed up. It was hyper extended by an "arm bar." So there's my physical stress. I'm also a receptionist and a student. There's a lot of hovering over books and a desk and sitting up all day. I don't really catch a break with my body. I booked an appointment with Cynthia with a gift certificate I got for my birthday. Man, oh man. That lady worked some magic. I thought I was going to be worked hard because of how messed up my body was. I expected to grunt and maybe even cry but I took a few deep breaths at most. Everything was super comfortable and I occasionally drifted in and out our conversation. When she was done, I felt completed liberated from any tightness and pain. My elbow used to hurt when I'd bring it around my back but the pain hasn't returned since! I can't even begin to describe how brand new my body felt. Aside from the amazing work, we clicked really well. I was able to enjoy my time with her with a lot of good talks and she was just an overall delight. read more

This place is true to its name! My husband and I booked a couples massage a few weeks ago and were accommodated on a Friday for the last appointment. The place itself is really cute and Cynthia was really great at listening to what I needed out of the massage :) I went in with a very tight muscle in my right neck and shoulder area (+ a fair amount of pain!) and Cynthia did a great job of loosening that area with her expert hands! You can choose what pain level you want to be at and I went for a 5 at first, but moved to a 7 by the end of the appointment. I would say 7 is bearable, especially if you really want her to get deep into the tissue and get all those knots out. I felt a lot better after the massage for sure! A few days later, I was good as new! Things to remember: - Hydrate before and after the massage. It's very important. - The more specific you are about what you want out of the massage, the better the end result will be. My husband just tagged along with me and didn't have any specific areas that he wanted work on, so he ended up with a fairly ok massage (he had a different masseuse) - If you are going in with a problem, book a 90 minute appointment so that Cynthia has the time to work on your problem areas and also give you a full massage. My first appointment was only 60 minutes long and she wasn't able to finish my massage in that time! - I was a bit sore the day after the massage, but an ice pack helped. I'm unsure of the tipping policy at the place though. Ended up giving a flat 20%. read more

For our first year wedding anniversary; one of my husband's presents for me was a massage. He did good picking this place. We had a Couple's Massage. His massage therapist was Cynthia and mine was Nikki. The place was very easy to find. It's one of those houses turned business offices along The Alameda. They had ample parking at the front house; and street parking is available. My pre-natal massage was aaaamaaaazing. It was my first pre-natal massage ever. Nikki had me lay on my side; with a long pillow tucked under my top leg. It was very comfortable. She asked which part I wanted focus on; which was my upper back. She did exactly as I asked and avoided points of my body that are not safe with pressure during pregnancy. She then had me switch sides to even out both sides of my body. My husband and I came out so refreshed and relaxed. I would definitely do it all over again. They are such professionals I am very pleased. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone in need of a much deserved Relaxing massage. read more

You have to go for the bureau in the bathroom, if nothing else. But the reason you'll want to go back, again and again, is Cynthia. Many massage therapists do what they think you want--but Cynthia listens. Many clients think a massage is a massage is a massage. No. I am a persnickety customer, but Cynthia got the pressure perfect. She used the right oils. She worked the right area on my neck. She drew some fancy-pants diagram on me (I may have imagined that last part-but I know she took notes). Cynthia is warm, and generous; and she has a great voice. You wouldn't think this matters, but when you're naked on a table, and chatting about personal issues, voice is key. When I go in, I have been known to leave, and forget important things, because of the bliss train she puts me on. Go. You will be happy for it. read more
