I first visited Facets in December 2020 to have some jewelry polished and my watch cleaned. At the time, I was impressed by the friendly demeanor of the staff and had a pleasant conversation with the woman at the counter. Unfortunately, my recent experiences with this business have left me deeply disappointed and upset. In the summer of 2024, I returned to have some jewelry polished and a necklace repaired. Shortly after dropping off my items, I received a call from an employee recommending that I also have the necklace cleaned. I agreed, trusting their expertise. However, what followed was a frustrating and unacceptable experience. It took over a week to get my items back, and only after I had to follow up multiple times because no one bothered to provide me with updates. When I finally received my jewelry, I noticed that the necklace--something I had only worn once before needing the repair--was now discolored and unwearable. Despite this, I still believed in supporting local businesses, especially since I've lived in the neighborhood for seven years. So when my watch battery needed replacing, I reached out to Facets again. I sent two emails requesting service, only to be met with complete silence. This pattern of neglect and lack of professionalism has been infuriating. Beyond that, I can't ignore how I've been treated as a customer. It's hard not to feel that race played a role in the dismissive and disrespectful behavior I've experienced here. To say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. I won't be returning to Facets and cannot, in good conscience, recommend them to anyone. read more

The store has great, beautiful jewelry that I find unique and unusual. It is very well lit and the items are laid out beautifully. The staff is never intrusive and always extremely helpful when you are interested in looking at things more closely. I've bought a number of wonderful watches at both Facets and Treasures - some gorgeous Skagans and a very cool Fossil years back. The prices were very fair. I also bought the most gorgeous ring from Facets that is one of the loveliest I've seen and completely unique and made by an artist in Israel. Everyone who's seen it has just been wowed. I went back and looked at the ring a number of times before I bought it and each time I was treated in the best manner and never made to feel that I was annoying them or wasting their time, and they bent over backwards to arrange a payment schedule for me so I could afford to do it. Incredible! I had a watch battery put in and they did a great job. I also had them fix a broken part of a vintage art deco necklace that had to be soldered and they did it very well and charged me a very low fee. I've always recommended both Facets and Treasures to friends and I will continue to do so without hesitation. They have the best jewelry in the Slope! read more

I got a set of earrings custom-made for my boyfriend's birthday. My request was unusual and very specific--very tiny amber studs--but from the very beginning no one at Facets batted an eyelash. They were not only certain they could deliver, they were excited at the prospect of giving me exactly what I wanted. Although there was a hiccup in the process, which resulted in the product being a bit late, I am as surprised as I am pleased by Facets' commitment to their product and to their customer's happiness. The final result is absolutely perfect, and one-of-a-kind. What more could you ask for when giving a gift? Facets is a high-end jewelry shop, with remarkable taste whom offer excellent customer service. I am writing this review because I feel that all those who read their reviews should know how memorable they have made my experience shopping by them. At first I only dropped in by chance, my watch battery had died and I saw their sign for repairs. The gentlemen who took my watch was very charming, and handsome :). It took him nearly 5-8 minutes to change my watch battery. While my watch was being fixed, I noticed what a great selection of fine jewelry they have. They have a case dedicated just to art deco rings. I ended up purchasing a one of a kind 1920's ring, very similar to the one my grandmother used to wear. The staff at Facets was very knowledgeable, they taught me everything there was to know about my ring. Honestly, one would have to be crazy to go elsewhere. I walked into Facets with an idea in mind, but not sure how to execute it. I had my late mother's engagement ring and wanted to fashion it into a new ring to be given as a gift. Every step of the way, Gaby was extremely friendly, helpful, and thorough. She guided me through the process of taking the old ring and transforming it into a new ring of great sentimental value. Her patience and expertise was greatly appreciated! The end result is a beautiful ring which is loved and admired every day by the person who wears it. I had been planning a proposal to my now fiancee for months and was working with a local jeweler to customize a ring going off of pictures that she had shown me. On a trip to visit her sister in New York, they happened on Facets and my fiancee immediately was attracted to what they had to offer. I was skeptical at first, but after talking with Mr. Sulay and Gaby I felt extremely comfortable with the situation and appreciated their honesty. When the ring arrived I could not have been happier. My husband and I went to grab brunch in Park Slope and as we were walking, Facets caught my eyes. So my husband and I decided to walk in. First off, the interior design of the place is beautiful. The gentlemen behind the counter Lenny was extremely professional, helpful, and most important to me knowledgable. He worked hand in hand with me every step of the way. My wife and i looked all over Brooklyn and Queens for our wedding bands. One afternoon, my wife called me and told me to meet her at Facets. They had given her a very competitive quote to create her ideal ring from a photo, but they had also shown her a ring they had in stock which was very similar to what she wanted. It was of much higher quality, and she fell in love with it as soon as she saw it. They gave us a great deal on it, and have been very helpful both before and after the purchase. They also have some very interesting mens' wedding band designs. I wasn't that keen on the traditional plain band, but didn't want something too flashy either. BEWARE OF THESE PEOPLE. i bought my wedding band here. it's platinum. my wife actually had dropped in before me and got a price quote (900-1000) and when i went in and got sized the woman who runs the place said it would be $2,700. i told her my wife had gotten a MUCH different quote, then she got her husband. he said it'd be $1100 because the price of the metal had gone up in the last three days. it was a reasonable price so i did it. but man, they are SO skeevy. we also had other bad experiences with them in terms of customer service, but the $2,700 scam really tells you all you need to know. oh, and they also own 'treasures' just down the block. i'd avoid that place, too. read more

My soon to be husband came to Facets to get me an engagement ring - which is no easy task as my taste is very particular and I don't wear jewelry- ever. But the amazing folks as Facets asked all the right questions and knew exactly what would work. I now have the most unique sapphire ring that I absolutely adore. Lenny went above and beyond to find the most amazing stone and then set it in a vintage deco setting based off another ring they had in the store. I held back on getting engaged for a while because I had no idea where to look for a ring or what I wanted in one. Facet's staff was incredibly kind, thoughtful, and gave me all the space and information I needed to find that one-of-a-kind ring. I never once felt pressured or pushed towards something more expensive. Needless to say, my fiancé LOVES the antique ring I got her. My husband took my engagement ring (an estate jewelry piece) to Facets to be restored and and resized as a Christmas present. The folks at Facets were incredibly helpful and made the ring look like new. I hadn't worn it for 10 years after losing a small diamond and it needing to be resized. Gosh, I really do wish that there were more boutiques like this one. So friendly, so helpful, and kind. They had a buy one wedding band and get the second free sale last week. My fiance and I were shocked that anyone would have such a sale. They smiled about giving away free jewelry, it was as though it made them feel great by doing so. We love Facets! My fiancé decided to get my engagement ring custom made at the location on 7th Ave in Park Slope. Lenny did a great job combining all of our ideas, into what became the perfect ring! He created a vintage inspired ring that encompassed my great aunt's diamond. I adore it! We have since returned to design our custom wedding bands. The customer service is outstanding. Both Gabby and Lenny were so kind in assisting us in the creation of our rings, and the turn around is SO fast. We are so glad we chose Facets for our lifelong treasured rings!
