Hi, I don't typically review, but the service by Face the Day NY was beyond exceptional to leave unsaid. I had Kim (make-up) and Robbie (hair) as the stylists for my wedding. I was very picky, yet did not know what I had wanted -- I'd say one of the worst clients to have! But both Kim and Robbie worked with me through very long trials (thanks to them) to work out the look. Because we went through so many changes, I was unsure if we had nailed it. Both Kim and Robbie were confident that they knew the direction. On the day of the wedding, they came in very professional, and did an amazing job. It was exactly what we had aimed for. For the make-up, minimal, fresh, clean, radiant; for the hair, we had a braided up-do with a bit of height, loose in some areas, and structured in others. Kim had done some homework on eyelashes (I have Asian eyelashes...) and she put some extra time in figuring out the look with me -- many, many thanks to her, could not have been better. All in all, I recommend Face the Day NY to anyone, for their commitment to helping clients feel beautiful in their own skin. read more

Ellen I just want to once again say thank you....everyone's makeup looked wonderful and we were ohhh so gorgeous on my wedding day. My mother is picky when it comes to her face, my cousins don't like makeup and my best friend is a makeup artist (didn't want her working on my wedding day) so I was hella nervous to ensure everyone looked and felt their best. Ellen and her team came in so bubbly and full of energy (mind you this is the day after Christmas early morning hours) & got to work!!! They took their time with everyone's face while still maintaining track of deadlines. She did my makeup first and I love the fact that I looked beautiful but still looked like myself...my skin was flawless!!! As everyone finished I saw them get up from their chair- look in the mirror and then the inner divas came out. Even my bestie was pleased!!! All night everyone commented on how amazing we all looked. I had 3 outfit changes and the makeup she did complimented all the outfits perfectly!!! Ellen and Najeebah are talented and professional women. They both made me look naturally gorgeous on my wedding day as well as the other women in the bridal party. I didn't want my make-up to look overwhelming, but still be dramatic enough for the camera. Ellen did a fantastic job at hitting that sweet spot. And my hair survived the day flawlessly! I got so many compliments! When you work with vendors on your wedding day, you want the process to go smoothly and have fun. I did a cover up/camouflage makeup trial with Ellen (to cover some scars) a few weeks ago and she really did quite an amazing job!!! When I inquired about her services via email she responded very promptly and was able to meet with me just a short time after. She's extremely personable and friendly. Ellen is awesome! She did my makeup and the makeup of my 6 bridesmaids for my wedding. Everyone looked fantastic! In fact, as we were taking our wedding pictures in Madison Square Park some random stranger came up and told one of my bridesmaids "you have the best looking bridal party I have ever seen" (nobody has ever told us that any other day, so I assume it was the make-up!) Ellen was also a great person to have around on your wedding morning. She is confident, friendly, and relaxed...all things that you definitely want to be surrounded with on what can be a stressful morning/day! Ellen is THE BEST! I booked Face the Day for my wedding in May and they were fantastic. I also used Face the Day to book my hairstylist and she was great as well. Ellen is very professional and did an amazing job. She really listened to what I had in mind for the wedding. She, and her assistant, also did a great job with my bridesmaids and mother. I was astounded at how gorgeous everyone looked! The thing that really set Ellen apart though, was going above and beyond for me. My wedding day was a bit of a disaster (rain, extraordinarily late flowers, etc) and there were some tears after I had gotten my make up done. Not only did Ellen touch me up, she followed us to the venue to make sure that I didn't need any more touch ups during pictures. Face the day did an amazing job on my makeup AND hair for my wedding. The main contact is Ellen, who is the makeup artist. Ellen and her team provided excellent service!! She is very professional, sweet and talented. I felt very comfortable with her right from the start. She is very good at knowing what type of makeup is best for your skin type, and very good with applying the appropriate colors. She did the airbrush on me and it looked very natural and lasted all day! She also had an assistant for makeup who was very good and we were all complimented many times throughout the day :) Through Ellen I was able to book a hairstylist (Daleesa) as well who was very good! I can't say enough great things about Ellen and her Face the Day team. They are absolutely amazing! My mom has always been picky with makeup her whole life, I have never known her to like anyone's attempt to do her makeup. She was miserable with her hair and makeup at my sister's wedding and I didn't want the same thing to happen at mine. Luckily, Ellen came to the rescue! My mom left her makeup and hair trial raving about Ellen and her team - I was absolutely shocked! I was so lucky to not only find someone to accomodate my mom, but my whole bridal party! Ellen and her team traveled over an hour and half to the East End of Long Island (north folk) to bring my dream of a vineyard wedding to life. Myself and my 5 bridesmaids and my mother received a combination of hair and make up services. I would admit At first the price was intimidating but the more I researched the more I was convinced that Face the Day was the right business to provide hair and makeup services for my wedding day. And I wasn't disappointed. They arrived promptly at 7:30 and we worked for 7 hours. And I must admit that it was the best experience and set the tone for the rain serif the day. At the end of the wedding March Father Stan said he was impressed by such a beautiful wedding party. I confided in Ellen that my mother had been ill and that I wanted her to look her best because she would be reunited with friends and family members . Ellen personally took responsibility for my mothers needs. And my mother looked more beautiful than I had remembered. It still brings tears to my eyes. When I went for the Trial, I was really pleased and excited for how I would look on my wedding day. Ellen's make-up is great and she focused on my eyes, which was something I requested. She is laid-back and easy to talk with. She was flexible and did meet my needs. She had Clara, her hairstylist, do my hair, who I also fell in love with at the trial. However, everything was so wonderful and dandy at the trial, but when my wedding day came: issues!!!!! My face make-up was gorgeous, but I also used airbrush on my back and chest, and this was not worth the money because I still saw what I did not want to see on my body in pictures! This also happened with my maid of honors, who also used the body airbrush. It was so expensive and not worth the quality. I was charged left and right for little things like her parking!!!! I HAD to pay for her garage parking when I warned her in the first place about alternative side parking. I had to pay for early arrival, too! Too many hidden fees! The worst part was that my HAIR was NOT the way it looked at my trial, which by the way I had to pay for, too. Clara did a rushed job on it and kept complaining to me on my wedding day how my bangs were too short and why did I cut it blah blah blah. She was such in a rush because she had something else to do after her job at my house that I actually just wanted her to leave. This was the only vendor I was not happy with during my wedding. I got married this past weekend and had the pleasure of working with the wonderful Face the Day hair and makeup team! Everything about the experience was perfect, from the prompt communication prior to the event to the actual day! They arrived at my hotel room exactly at our planned time and promptly set up their supplies and their stations. Myself, 5 bridesmaids, and my mother in law were all completed in our planned timeframe. The women were professional, yet made us all feel comfortable and listened to our visions perfectly. My makeup and hair were flawless and held up all night long through hours on the dance floor and a few happy tears. My bridesmaids all looked absolutely stunning and my mother in law, who was hesitant about getting her makeup done and looking "too made up", looked incredible and ended up totally loving it!
