I've been to the fabric store a handful of times and now they have another store across the parking lot where they have some different/newer fabrics also. No licensed print that I could see, but the price points are impeccable except do you have to buy everything at least one yard at a time! There's a lot of Women walking around the store asking if you want to cut holding our yardstick. Since Joannes fabrics is closed, I really like this particular fabric store since I can touch and feel all the various types of fabrics when I'm making different garments! Gawd I love this place!! I was in town and dragged my sister in there so we could pick up some reasonably priced fabric. Lately everything has been $8-20 range rather than $3/yd. Joann's is closing and they keep saying 75% off but it's not an actual discount when you're paying $15/yr for low end apparel material. Enter into Fabrics R Us. I was in heaven. I remember coming here as a kid with my mom and auntie (they're big time sewers). We got so many cool options to test out now. I will make a point to buy more fabric and ship it to myself next time I'm back visiting. They have more expensive and better quality fabric near the front back area. I was able to find really nice pieces that I'll work up to on my skill level but already have ideas in mind. Can't wait to use everything and come back! I love viet aunties. They always scream and ask if you're ready for cutting. Just wave them down and they will cut the length you want, write it down on a paper and you can keep looking or get it all cut at once. Ps. Bring an ikea bag with you. lol it's hard to not go crazy. You can get a lot for your money here! Oh also, my sister got an incredible tule and embroidered fabric. It's absolutely stunning and would look incredible as an overlay in a dramatic dress/skirt vibe. It was black tule and red roses that popped. Dia de los Muertos or Goth vibe for sure dig it. Unlike many other reviewers, we actually had a more positive experience with our visit to this fabric store. Their selection was vast and reasonably priced. In fact, there was an all-day 20% off sale throughout the store the day we were there which was a plus. I can see how customer service could be improved through adding more staff members on the floor during peak hours, but to be honest, we didn't have any issues. Not for the faint of the heart that expects bougie services and well-organized aisles. Great for value chasers who want specialized fabric, all kinds of trims and notions, and good fabric to practice on. Not a lot of natural fibers choices (however, I managed to find great linen at fantastic prices), but lots and lots of knits and woven fabric in rayon etc. The aunties who work here are wonderful - help you cut and recommend great pattern options. This is a very nice fabric store. After coming here for the first time with my mum and a former friend of hers, this has been my go to store for fabric and some sewing essentials. Most of the time the prices here are very reasonable and quality is a bit better than run of the mill chain stores. I like the location of the store because it's centrally located in the county. With JoAnna fabrics out, this is a good place to get all sorts of string. You can also get specialized buttons here too if you want to make jackets or vests. My mum has also bought some cool things for making facemasks as well. Drawback: The people who work here can be very gruff especially if you don't speak vietnamese. So that might be a bit of a fault in customer service. Please remember, you get what you paid for. read more

Always 2-3 people on the floor but with the towering rolls of fabric everywhere & everyone needing assistance to cut, it can take a while before you get your yards of fabric or ribbon. The aunties here are so nice, and I LOVE them. The uncle on the other hand... very unresponsive & discourages me from asking for help. I have been here 3 times now to make Ribbon Leis for the graduation season (You want 2 or 4 ribbons per lei with each ribbon being 6 yards btw). I purchased a cozy fun fabric that was a decent and average quality at Fabrics R Us yesterday. the biggest mistake I made was assuming the fabric was affordable. The shop owner knew my granddaughter had her heart set on the only mock leopard print in the store - so she quoted me $20 a yard. I pointed out that there was a stain in the middle and she dropped the price $2 but, this price was not fair. So buyer BEWARE, first check online with Joanne's Fabrics or other stores like Walmart to tell see if this store is worth the trip. I regret my purchase and they do not accept returns. read more

This is a place deadly to your budget and stash storage! Your eyes and fingers will find it a delight. There is just too much wonderfulness at a very discounted price, in two locations at this corner center. Bring your patience. This is a store with aisles crammed full of bolts upon bolts of fabric, and it's hard to see the short women who run around with yardsticks and pads, and cut where the fabric is. This is more efficient in time & well, space--not enough room to have a cutting counter with a long line of people waiting, then having to return the bolts to their places. Imagine a Joann's fabric area. Triple/quadruple the amount of fabric, cut the area by 3/4. Yes, that packed. Ultrasuede 60" wide at Joann's has been $40/yd. It's $8 here. Sometimes there just isn't enough staff to handle the number of shoppers in the main store. Please respect the staff by letting them know briefly that you need assistance and trust they'll find you when it's your turn. They will--and they understand more English than they speak. Smile up to your eyes when it's your turn, and things will go well. There were 2 women who didn't even know what they had in their store. I looked for the embroidered fabric which they told me they didn't carry. I wandered around and found it myself. I asked if I could purchase half yard but they refused to sell it to me. They told me 1 yard was the minimum purchase that would cost me $40! I just wanted a small piece for decoration therefore I didn't need a whole yard of expensive fabric. This ain't ya mama's fabric store. Don't come here thinking you're gonna get patient and friendly customer service. Come here knowing what you want and don't get mad cause the workers roll their eyes cause you're asking for more than five yards of fabric. Was recommended this store by my sewing teacher about 10 years ago and my trips have been here and there but I didn't start regularly coming here till my local Joann's closed last year. It's pretty much the LA Fashion District combined in one (two?) stores. Not for the Karens, the faint of heart, or the claustrophobic. But one thing for sure, you're more than likely gonna find the fabric you need, and you're gonna get it for a good price, no coupons or flimsy sales needed. As a serious cosplayer and seamstress, I mostly come here for satins, laces, and spandex. Notions here and there but I prefer other places for those. I like that I can buy 10 yards of a fabric and not break the bank. They got almost every fabric you need in every color you need. I'm a fan of their heavy satins and use it for all of my costumes. It does tend to get overwhelming though and I can really only take this place in small doses. Subtracting one star because of the way the cutters cut out the fabric. It's not always even and I get jagged edges sometimes. So maybe buy a little more than you need for that reason. And your fabric is gonna be dirty, so really make sure you wash your fabric. read more

Located on Berryessa and Lundy sits a fabric store that has been around for 10+ years. I'm glad we actually have one in San Jose because honestly, where can you find a fabric store nowadays?! My mom found a new hobby making masks. She wanted more fabric and we found a ton of it at Fabrics R Us! There's yards and yards of various designs, thickness, buttons, elastics, and more. The store is pretty messy but trust me, you'll like getting lost in here, there's just so much fabric to look at! The older ladies that work here are very friendly and helpful. After seeing some reviews of lines being out the door, I was hesitant to come because I HATE waiting in lines. Came around 11am on Friday and it was empty! Whoo hoo! I guess those reviews were from the weekend maybe? But I was able to find the perfect fabric within 10 minutes of browsing and the price was great! I was looking around online for fabric for an upholstery project but everything I saw would've been minimum $10/yard PLUS ridiculous shipping fees... some as much as $20! Craziness. I walked out with 4.25 yards of BEAUTIFUL heavy-weight fabric for $37! And the ladies as always are SUPER sweet and helpful! Cam on!!!! :) read more

Been coming here since I was a little girl. I am glad they are still in business and they are booming more than ever with the whole COVID 19 Social distancing. They only allow two people in the store at a time, so don't be alarmed if you see a long line. They do rush you so everyone can get in and out, so know what you need/want! I love this place!! Came here to check it out before quarantine because I had an interest in starting a dog bandana business. During quarantine I was able to learn how to sew so I was finally able to play around and experience with bandana sizes. However I ran out of fabric and Joann's was closed. I like being able to browse around and feel the fabric so I'm glad they finally opened this place during quarantine. The staff is wonderful. They let you browse and do your own thing but they walk around so if you have a question on pricing or need fabric cut they're readily available. An abundant selection of fabrics and fair pricing. They also have a ton of other accessories like pins, thread, trims, buttons, elastics. You name it, they'll probably have it! I also like how they give you a paper with the pricing once they cut it so in the end you know exactly how much you're buying and your total. I'm not sure the staff knows the inventory that well though because they have so much of a selection. I asked if they had white tassels trim and they said no but I found it while browsing the store a few minutes later. It's like a treasure hunt. I missed it the first time cause it was tucked at a corner shelf end cap. They literally have such a great selection of fabric and the fancier ones are obviously gonna be more expensive. 10/10 would recommend and I love going here. On 3/30/23 I went to Fabric R Us to purchase yardage of fleece solid print fabric. After looking around I located the bolt and took it up to the cashier. She measured the length of the fabric and it was 8 yards. I told her I will purchase the entire amount. The printed pricing on the bolt was $3.84 per yard. She started to ring it up at $5.00 a yard. I pointed to the fabric bolt and said that the price is $3.84 a yard and not $5.00. She told me to pay the $5.00 or leave the store. I told her please ring it up correctly. She then rang it up at $4.00 a yard and told me to pay for it at that price. I have proof of the correct pricing and incorrect receipt showing $4.00 per yard. I have been shopping many years here with no problems. I called the manager to explain the issue and he just implies it's how his business is run with no apology. This is against the law pricing in retail selling. 12024.2 California law. Beware of all purchases at this store for accuracy and your receipt. We are shopping in California USA with laws governing pricing posted and advertised notices, and not a foreign country. This store has lost my future business and many of my friends. read more

First off; this place isn't for the mediocre quilter who spends 45 minutes at the cutting counter at JoAnn's asking for 1/4 yd of this and 1/4 yd of that. This place is for people who are making costumes, making their own uniforms for work.. People who know what they're looking for and are willing to dig for the gems this place has hidden. Personally, I don't want workers to feel like they have to follow me around the store and ask if I need anything. I don't care if people say hello to me the moment I walk in. I'll say hello and if I don't get a response, oh well. If you have a decent eye and feel for fabric, you can figure it out. It's not that hard. Also, yes, it's a dirty store and they toss your cut fabric on the ground before they fold it. But if you're not pre-washing your fabrics anyway... you're disgusting and, what do you do about shrinkage? As far as pricing goes, you get what you pay for. Some of the prices are above the bolts. Just confirm before you ask for a cut. Ask for swatches. Offer to pay for swatches. It's not that hard to be polite and considerate. I've tried to learn a couple of phrases, like "how much per yard" or "how are you", then I ask if I said it right. It gives the workers a chuckle and they're more willing to help if they know I tried to meet them halfway. Whenever I've gotten cuts, I've pointed out imperfections in the fabrics and I've counted the number of yards with them. If you're not 100% certain they measured correctly, ask for them to remeasure. You have to be a participant in the ENTIRE transaction. Talk to them, confirm they're giving you what you want. If you're intimidated by the way it's set up, go to JoAnn's. This place is a little slice of the LA fabric district, and I love them for it. read more
