Unfortunately they were sold out of the focaccia by the time that we ordered, so we ended up getting a bunch of other sweet and savory goodies to eat at their standing tables out front. They were making a blueberry soda that day that was insanely refreshing and delicious and actually tasted like the fruit itself as opposed to some fake kind of syrup. We enjoyed almost everything that we ate. The mortadella sandwich was so basic but beyond delicious...just the perfect balance of..everything. We had no idea that mortadella could even be that thinly sliced! We also got their griddled caciocavallo and datterini sandwich, which was another wonderfully harmonious concoction that we loved. The green beans were OK, as was the eggplant parmigiana (though we did appreciate how light it was). Dessert was less impressive. The vanilla bombolone was good, but nothing special, and the ricotta cookies were standard fare. We're kind of two minds about this place...if we hadn't waited as long, we'd probably more enthusiastic and eager to come back, but the conditions on the ground make it more like 3.5 stars. We're rounding up though because it was pretty good and we'd like to try it again on a very different day if we're back in the area.

I tend to eat on the lighter side, so I was pleasantly surprised by how filling everything was. I enjoyed every bite! The toast with wild honey gave the ricotta such a lovely, creamy flavor. The Angry Chicken was incredibly tender--the meat practically slid right off the bone, with no effort needed to separate it. The pasta was absolutely fresh and perfectly cooked. It wasn't overcooked at all, which made such a difference. For dessert, the cake had just the right amount of chocolate without being too rich, and it paired beautifully with the chocolate frosting on top. The frosting was where most of the sweetness came through, and honestly, I just wish there had been more of it on the cake! Overall, everything was delicious, thoughtfully prepared, and incredibly satisfying. We enjoyed every dish!

While the inside of the restaurant isn't large (note they have a larger back patio area as well) it's cozy and parties of two may share a larger, communal table which can be a nice way to make friends should you choose. As others have noted it's a BYOB place with a convenient local wine-shop just a minute or two nearby. The menu changes regularly though we got many of the classics that have stayed on the menu (only missing the Angry Chicken which we'll get next time). The pastas were delicious though I wish the rigatoni was a bit saucier and really enjoyed the ravioli which had a lighter, mid-summer flavor with some pine-nuts for extra texture. The ricotta bread and honey was tasty though a large portion for two people and we felt that the standout was the halibut. My only complaint is the 3% mandatory card-processing fee (which at least is prominently displayed). Please also note that this restaurant calculates tips based on the total, not pre-tax amount and the waiter tends to hover while you swipe your card which can feel a bit overbearing.

Came here with friends for brunch on a Saturday and it was very busy. They have a brunch specific menu and a more generic lunch menu, all I can say is that I ordered the carnitas panini from the brunch menu and it was AMAZING. It has been a while since I have been "wowed" by a sandwich and their carnitas panini did just that. Carnitas were nice and juicy, a bit of the oiliness was soaked up by the crispy sourdough. I cherished every bite and I woke up the next morning craving more.

I got the Buddha bowl with chicken and an iced tea, and my friend got the TLT wrap. The Buddha bowl is good - grains, roasted vegetables, added chicken, tossed in a tahini dressing. The dressing was very tahini forward (too much so) and I with there was less/maybe a squeeze of lemon and some olive oil. I had the Scarparello with chicken, which was a flavorful dish that included sausage and a lemon rosemary sauce. Was also accompanied with a small bowl of pasta. Dessert was grand! Overall, had a great time and I would definitely visit again. Note: at time of dining, this restaurant is BYOB.

The owner was really friendly and the cheeses and meats were delicious but when I unwrapped 3 of the 4 sadwiches they all had less than 3 slices high of the 3 meats and 2 cheeses I asked for there was no prosciutto as requested and barely one slice to cover a full hero roll. This is not an accident, its the owner being super cheap with ingredients and it made sure that I won't ever return. When I called the owner he offered to make me one sandwich over, while all 4 were pathetically short on ingredients. I get that Italian deli meats of this caliber are expensive but charge me MORE and give more. Each sandwich was $7 then $8 with my additional (and missing) meat. If you been rocking since 1919, mi amor, I **have** to come see what's going on. That alone made me wanna pull up And let me tell you... I walked from Jersey City Heights down to downtown -- not a bad walk at all, un chin de cardio before breakfast . Real "treat yourself, mi amor" type of morning. Soon as I walked in... BABYYYY I felt like I got teleported straight into a little Italian market Shelves full of Italian goodies -- pastas, oils, snacks... I was like *yo quiero todo esto* It was giving *ciao bella, benvenuti, mangia mangia* vibes all day. The staff? Súper nice. No attitude, no rush -- just good energy. I told them it was my first time and asked what they're known for, and they really put me on No gatekeeping over here. My husband got the #7 (on a roll) I got the #8 (on a bagel) We sat outside and did what married people do... switched sandwiches halfway Now listen... mine was good -- turkey, egg, pesto... she was cute, she had flavor, estaba bien ‍ BUT HIS?! Ese sándwich estaba otro nivel. I don't know if it was the roasted peppers or what but *Dios mío*... delicioso, chef's kiss Only thing? Next time I'm switching my bagel for a roll porque ese pan estaba hitting different. The roll? Soft, fresh, perfecto. Also... let me tell you about the BACK They got frozen pastas, little Napoli-style dishes, a whole meat section that looked crazy fresh, and you can order cold sandwiches too. Esto no es solo un deli -- it's a whole Italian experience, okurrr. And yes... it's a *little* pricey, no te voy a mentir. Pero honestly? You get what you pay for. Calidad, sabor, vibes -- todo está ahí. I skipped the coffee porque estoy tratando de behave con el budget but next time? And I'm coming back for that banana pudding porque I'm obsessed no shame. They got a little patio if you wanna sit, or you can take your food to the park and have a whole picnic moment. Real main character energy. Ponte linda, grab your sandwich, and just vibe out. Overall? 5 stars Good food, good vibes, buena gente. CARGIANO'S said "treat yourself" y yo dije... say less
