My son now loves going too and it's perfect for his using the free weight area. What keeps me going to this gym and keeps me working out: 1. Easy no appt or class time necessary... just jump in 2. The fun tabata-style circuit is changed out daily and focuses on different body types 3. It's an all-level workout so you make it as challenging as you want and let's face it some days I don't feel like doing it but that brings me to this next... 4. It's only 30 ish minutes! You DO have the time and it feels great to workout even on those days that are tough 5. Last but not least Adam has a vast amount of knowledge and is a trainer so he or a team member will show you how to do the exercises properly or how to modify if you have an injury. 6. Actually I lied and one more :-) This is a locally owned gym in Allen so I'm happy to show support and EVERY time I walk in they greet me by name and are all so incredibly friendly. I haven't worked out in a while and was nervous about joining a gym that would be too intense. I appreciate that the workout here is 30min. It really worked me, and I could do it! I have knee pain, and the coach made sure to help me with modifications so I could still work out, but not hurt my knee. The staff is very friendly and helpful! You go through all the stations, and each one has a video for you to follow. Very little thinking is required. Top notch for me personally. I haven't had to use it yet, but there is a key fob system that allows members to come workout during non-staffed hours. Firmly team no kids, but they also have a little kids area to sit your kiddo. I know this is unusual as my sister complains often about not being able to workout at a gym. My only wish is if they had a sauna but it's not enough of a want for me to not go. I'd much rather have personalized service. It was clean, friendly, and i had a great workout! I am excited for my membership, and highly recommend checking them out!

I was met with defensiveness stating I am asking many questions and customers usually don't ask that many. Then started debating with me saying do I question my doctor? After this interaction, I was shocked. I told him I will no longer be moving forward, he then disconnected the call. As the business owner this is how he conducted himself. The facility itself may be fine, but in my experience, I felt argued with and not respected as a potential client because I asked questions. Glad I found out the culture here before signing up.

He is very knowledgeable about exercise and the way the body works, it is helpful to understand why we are doing certain things certain ways. Having more information about the way my body works while we train helps me to feel more confident in my workouts. I have several health issues that can be difficult to manage and he has always worked with me to tailor our sessions to be what I need. I have seen weight loss, but more importantly I have seen an increase in my strength and the way I feel in general. Many of the aches and pains I had before have been noticeably less and I can see a definite correlation between working hard at Progressive Resistance and how I feel. I was never someone that thought working out or training was enjoyable before, but his methods and explanations have absolutely made me enjoy weight lifting with him. Tim has provided me with stretches I can do at home, books to check out from him and read, and PT when I have been hurt. I appreciate that he works with my restrictions, but pushes me to work hard to be better. I highly recommend working with him and seeing for yourself.

The idea of the training is separating training from performance. When you train for strength, cardio etc you are doing a very CONTROLLED exercise designed to build strength and endurance with the minimum of risk and stress to joints and other areas of your body. The other component is allowing the body to rest; you're only building muscle and strength when your body is recovering and resting so he encourages this and discourages overtraining. This emphasis on control and safety and rest during training allows better PERFORMANCE which is when you're actually using your body; for competitive sports and just daily life. For me as a physician and surgeon who sometimes does surgery all day it is having the strength to physically perform all day while minimizing fatigue. Truly a new take on exercise that nevertheless makes great sense. In light of this philosophy training like Cross fit looks really silly; lots of uncontrolled motion with high potential for injury. Truly a fantastic exercise place. Can't wait to see it grow.

We come multiple times a week, shoot for 6/week, and usually make it at least 3/week. They do some awesome challenges/competitions! Because my husband is competitive, it is a motivator for my husband. This last challenge, our daughter even noticed, and now she gets up and comes with us at 5:30am...AMAZING!!! This is the beginning of a healthier and happier lifestyle for us. We are super grateful for the support and encouragement here. What to expect? Each week the schedule changes, so it is always boot camp style, but arm day may be Monday one week and Thursday on another week. Usually there are a series of exercises and you rotate through the exercises. The duration/timing, number of exercises, or structure of the class changes from day to day. Because we come every day of the week, we've worked out with all of the coaches. We like them all. They have really different personalities and styles, but they are all encouraging and supportive. They will coach you to give 110%, but I have knee and back issues and they always provide a modification for me. Benefits over other gyms: Having actual sessions helps us for accountability and structure instead of just open gym time. We like the challenges/competitions probably the best because they keep us dedicated and determined to keep working out! It is different everyday and as much as we get stronger, it still stays difficult!!!

However, Benny took me by the hand and showed me that working out can be fun. He also has a Master's Degree in nutrition and encouraged me to change my diet and lose weight. So now I'm 79 and I have to admit it's been a long term (14 years) valuable experience for me. I've done Pilates at almost every studio in Dallas and Houston and this is the only studio that I've ever committed to. I've had a difficult time finding a studio that wasn't so challenging that I dreaded looking forward to it vs a studio that was so easy that it felt like a waste of money and time and don't even break a sweat. The workouts here are versatile and use the accessories in a manner that flows well and doesn't feel forced. The instructors give good cues and always give instructions for lighter or more challenging options. I get to leave class everyday knowing I did something to move and work on my posture and form without absolutely destroying me for the rest of the day.
