The service from Capital Awning was quite remarkable and they came to your house with the catalogs…read morein hand to try to help you match up the newest selections for awning material with your current existing house. They were very professional and polite and offered a lot of good information regarding replacing what I already had that had lasted since 1997. I also really enjoyed was that there is a huge selection of materials and that they are long lasting. I actually selected new clips to tie down the ropes with and they were able to put them up and they look spectacular as well as instead of white ropes. They put black ropes which looks really stunning up against the house. All in all whatever it is, you need they can really customize it and make it look phenomenal right now. It looks too good for the house, and it feels like there should be some bistro beneath the awnings. I would highly recommend them. It's not inexpensive, but it's worth it.

Capitol Awning installed a gorgeous Sunbrella awning onto the front of our house just two weeks…read morebefore the recent freak ice storm in Richmond. There was a huge and very heavy boulder of unmovable ice lodged on top of this for weeks. We needed to wait for it to melt. The frame, mounting and fabric all survived this ordeal unscathed. The quality is extremely high. And I highly recommend them and will absolutely return. I will mention however, these people are not great communicators. Calls went unanswered, the installers just showed up without an appointment. This can be sharpened up. But otherwise, I thank you folks very much for an excellent product made locally at a fair price!

Don't even think about it. We were looking for a replacement of small deck and i was quoted (over…read morethe phone, didn't even offer to come by) double the material cost of other contractors AND I was told that they deal with larger projects. I'm pretty sure that's why he jacked up the material quote over the phone. So............if you aren't swimming in cash and your project won't bring these snobs at least $15K look elsewhere. Looking at the other two reviews on here, I see I'm not alone. I was quoted $15K for a 100 sf deck....check elsewhere folks.

We signed a contract w Deck Creations in Sep of 21, they promised to start no later than 16 weeks…read morelater and started about 30 weeks later. They promised a completed project 4-6 weeks after starting and finished in about 18 weeks. During that entire time we had both a large dumpster and porta-potty in our driveway. We engaged them to design/build both a composite deck and paver hardscape area. During the deck construction the subcontractor was fired and at least one inspection was failed by the county. We were contacted directly by the subcontractor about re-hiring them, this made the situation particularly awkward. The deck was finished by another contractor who had to tear down at least half of what was previously done. The hardscape area was completed by a single subcontractor. The resulting space was short about 2.5 feet in width, leaving us ***** sq feet less room around the fireplace than contracted. This was space was especially important to us since it is around the fireplace(center) of the hardscape area. During the process I never got the impression that our project manager had command of the project or was really looking out for us. Ultimately, Deck Creations admitted that the space was indeed short the space around the fireplace sitting area as designed. They offered no remedy, only to waiver the small final residual payment and leave the project. I honestly believe I would have ended up with a better outcome by hiring subcontractors on my own. I also regret not taking the time to understand the details of the contract they had me sign. In hindsight I should have paid closer attention to the extensive protections afforded to them at my expense.
