Practically all the deck builders that we got quotes from were over $25K - $35K. These were WAY outside our budget. All Squared Up explained it like this. So many businesses after Covid, were charging more due to supply. Sadly for consumers many businesses never reduced their prices when supply disruptions were no longer an issue. There is also so much competition with composite material, prices are not high. Before you select a deck builder, based on the number of reviews on Yelp/Google, request a quote from All Squared Up. We highly recommend! Honest communication, commitment, with an equal dose of skilled perfection and honest pricing is what you can be assured to receive. p.s. He even turned down some extra work, and said we could always get it done later if we really wanted to do it. There is not enough space for me to share what an OUTSTANDING experience we had with Lane Homes…read morefollowing a bursted pipe and flood in our 1906 historic home in December 2022. After months of dealing with demo and setbacks with mold, lead and asbestos we were very jaded and wondered if the house would ever be restored to its former glory. We had multiple friends who worked with Lane homes for their renovations and they all recommended them highly. Ed Lane came out in June 2023 six months after the flood once demo was complete. He was professional, knowledgeable, super communicative and set our minds at ease. Work began in July and we were told to expect it to last four months. In my mind I hoped it would be complete by Thanksgiving. We have lived in several homes over the years and used several different contractors and have NEVER finished a renovation a month ahead of schedule!!!! We just finished the end of project walk through today with our project manager Kevin Joyner and we are honestly a bit sad that we won't see Kevin and his team around here on a daily basis. Kevin went above and beyond the call of duty. He is EXTREMELY thorough and a complete perfectionist. He and his team were so communicative. He returned our calls/texts any time of day, night and on the weekends. We always knew what to expect the following day; who would be on site and when they would arrive and depart. I can honestly say in this months long process there was not a wasted day or lag time. Kevin is meticulously and expects the same out of his crews. From the painters, to the plumbers and finish carpenter each Lane employee was a delight to work with. If we ever move or renovate down the road we will use Lane Homes for all our remodeling needs. If every company was as honest, thorough and easy to work with as Lane there would be a lot less frustration in the world! The designer listened to our vision and came up with a beautiful plan that stayed in our budget. She even came with me to pick out appliances, countertops and light fixtures. I couldn't have done it myself without hiring an interior designer. Every workman in our home was courteous and professional! I always felt comfortable with the people in the house. The crews cleaned up every day and made the process as painless as possible, as we stayed in the house during the renovation. The workmanship and attention to detail was top-notch. I really do like how the project turned out and that goes to the sub contractors. Several of them were fantastic and I would highly recommend the sub contractors. Unfortunately, the management of the project was less than. I expected more communication. We were told several times when the manager could not make a meeting or was rushing there to meet for 10min, they were just "so busy with their other projects." Even the owner came at the end to look at a few things and didn't say one word besides hello. Honestly, we are still waiting on them to find a solution to paint on the custom oven hood and I doubt we will ever hear from them. Guess they are just writing off the small payment that's left. We have friends all over Southside and it's a shame that we cannot recommend this company because people ask all the time.

We contracted with Pro Renovations to relocate supporting columns under our deck and pour a…read moreconcrete patio and stamp. We were told that the project would take 3 weeks to complete, but it ended up being 3 months. The structural part of the project went well, but the pouring and stamped concrete was a nightmare. We needed a retaining wall built on a slope and they did not know how to build the form properly and so that the cement would not expand the form. They ended up pouring the cement in 3 sections and the wall still ended up bulging and it looks terrible. We were told that the stamped concrete would also line up with the three different pours and it didn't - they only told us what we wanted to hear. Our patio is not what I was led to believe it would look like and I am so disappointed. We expressed our disappointment to the workers, the project manager and the Owner. It felt like that the project was being planned on the fly and that band aids were being put on after each step to fix the previous step. At the end of the project, the Owner, nor the project manager came to inspect the final product (probably because they knew they had not done a good job and they knew we were not happy). I wrote a 3-page letter about our disappointments and sent it by certified mail to the Owner, included our final payment and pictures of the product. It has been a month and a half since I sent my letter and I expected to receive a response from the Owner, but all he did was cash my check, which says a lot about the company! I am posting this review, hoping that if someone is looking to contract with Pro Renovations, that they need to take into consideration our review. I have never posted a yelp review before until now, but felt it was necessary in this instance to help prevent someone else having the same experience as we did.
