The coffee is good and the staff are very friendly. I usually get my coffee to go so I don't really factor in the atmosphere into my review, its a bit on the small side. They do breakfast such as yogurt and granola and usually have a selection of pastries. I like getting the toasted baguette and cream cheese. Everything I have ever had here has been fresh so you can't really go wrong. read more

Stopped in yesterday on a whim and so so glad I did. Although I got a coffee to go (which was so rich and delicious) the atmosphere is something I always look for in a coffee shop. Cozy, a little something off the wall and friendly staff. Wish I had more time to stay and enjoy the atmosphere but will be stopping back in soon. read more

Without a doubt my favourite place to grab a Cappuccino and read a book. It is (justifiably) somewhat on the pricier side, so I generally only do this when I feel like a wealthy person (in other words, have $7 worth of silly money on hand). Music selection is usually spot on, and their pumpkin seed muffin tends to make my day. The only problem is that I seem to not be the only person who feels this way, and getting a table can be somewhat dodgy. That said, special points to them for using what appears to be fair trade sugar. Fair trade coffee may be ubiquitous these days, but almost no place considers that sugar is a much sketchier trade. Given that I sweeten my coffee to the point where it is the bane of dentists everywhere, this is a major plus for me. read more

I adore this place for their espresso and their croissants. It can be a bit pricey, but the baked goods are delicious, the atmosphere is relaxed and trendy, and the coffee can't be beat. The staff is knowledgable (but not always super friendly), and every barista knows what they're doing. It's always cool to see Ezra working behind the counter, too. Excellent place to meet a friend for a morning coffee, grab an espresso to go, or sit with a book or your computer and work away. read more

When it comes to croissants, this place has the BEST croissants in the city. Exactly like I had in France and Vienna. They sell out quick but if you're there early and get them warm, it's heavenly. It's a little crowded and a little uncomfortable for long bouts of studying, but a great place to stop in and take your croissant and coffee for a walk. read more

Great coffee, great atmosphere. Delicious baked goods and comfy seats for studying. A must-visit for any Torontonian student living in the Dupont/Spadina area. Very talented latte art too -- almost too pretty to drink! read more

I love Ezra's pound. The coffee is one of the best in the city. I only have two objections: 1) they cover the outlets at the dupont location with stickers so you can't charge any of your electronics, 2) I often find that my very expensive lattes (a large is $5.15!) are not filled to the top but rather have a couple of inches of emptiness. It's not like I can pay less for what's missing! Otherwise, excellent. read more

Very cute, very nice little shop. Came here for a small breakfast on my way downtown. I got off at Dupont Station and the cafe was extremely close, barely took me even a minute to get to. Staff was very friendly. The pastries were absolutely delicious. I got a bottle of ice tea, the peach tea, to be specific. Very tasty and just what I needed to hold me over until my next meal. Great place, and would definitely come again as a regular if I lived around the area. read more

This is my local coffee shop, and I am so lucky it is close by. The coffee is amazing-- I can honestly say they make the BEST americano coffee I have ever had. I love the ambiance. I also by my dark roast coffee from here it is extremely rich and complex tasting. I enjoy the breakfast (egg, baguette, cheese), however, I do think it is a wee bit pricy for what it is. That being said, I still buy it. This place is worth the trip up to the Dupont Strip. read more

If you are looking for a cool non-precious place to get a cup of joe on Dupont look no further. Great and friendly staff - but not too friendly and top of the line well made coffee. I will return read more

Nice coffee. Hipster type decoration. Cosy although normally crowdy. The coffee is nice, but not special. Excellent plain croissants.

Nice environment. Friendly staff. And necessary -- nothing else in that area-- but the coffee isn't good. Americano tasted like water. Even a small double shot (so dense). Even weaker than Starbucks. Perhaps something wrong with the machine or the barista was new? Seems like a fixable problem. read more

Will never go here again. Rude girl at the front. Bitter. Asked to order a side of egg salad since they have no gluten free bread. She bitchily said "it will be 9.45 you gotta pay for a full sandwich". Ten dollars for one scoop of egg salad? read more

This place is great if you want to sit around and be snooty with a bunch of other snooty people. The staff are unbearable. Smile maybe once during interaction with a customer? read more

Coffee was fine, if overpriced. Ordered a continental (nice, but scant for the price) and sat back to people-watch. The staff charmed the customers in line and hustled through orders - the owner (tall fella?) saw a friend and leaned around the barista to schmooze. Barista cringed at the invasion of personal space, but managed to keep the drinks coming. Without warning, the owner said something condescending to the barista, elbowed his way behind bar, and finished the drink that she'd started. What a creep. read more

mediocre coffee at best. over priced. and the staff are under the delusion that they are actually cool working at a coffee shop. they hardly talked to me while i ordered my coffee and the guy gave me such a weird look while i was ordering. after most customers left the store, and it was just me and my mom in the store (it was around 2pm), they started playing the music so loud I could barely hear my mom. Get over yourselves guys, its just coffee, and no cup of mediocre coffee should cost 5 dollars. read more

Delicious pastries, good coffee, mostly nice service and lovely atmosphere but I have to say, I can't give a full 5 stars because the prices are just a bit much, even for the annex read more

I tried pour over and espresso. Pour over Ethiopia is not too bad, however, the espresso was impressive. As for design, it's modern and cozy place. Great music and arrangement of tables. Overall, better than the average coffee shop. Would certainly recommend over the Creeds Cafe, which is a few blocks west from Erza's. read more

Good coffee, strange attitude. When I ask them to pull an "extra-long" espresso shot because I [gasp] like my coffee more bitter, I'm told that this is not allowed because the owner is very strict about serving the coffee a certain way. I admire the passion, but not the controlling and righteous attitude. Lighten up and try making your customers happy. News alert: It's not about you;-) read more

Great espresso and baked goods, but DO NOT go there if you have homework to do! Their wireless works 1/3 times at best, and when you ask the staff to reset the modem, they are less than helpful, rolling their eyes as if you're asking them to do a completely useless task. The environment is nice, but if I'm going to drop $10 on a latte and scone, I expect to encounter functional wireless, or at least a smiling barista. read more

Great coffee, delicious soups, great neighborhood vibe, & lovely back patio (with or without your pooch)!

Good product - terrible rude waitress, she should be fired! Owner should make up mind whether he is in business or renting out full time office space for a coffee - 4 tables had singles at them and waitress refused to approach them to double up, new customers were turning away as no room to sit down. Had been looking for a good coffee shop in this area where we have lived for 30 years- will not recommend it to others in area unless they wish to stand and have a long wait and be served by rude staff. Will not return!!!!! read more

Great spot! Always busy but cute and friendly! The coffee is a nice weekend treat, bit pricey for everyday but good bold taste. Wish there were more seats or a back patio. The blueberry scones are so yummy! read more

I went in with a group of friends perhaps before 3 p.m. yesterday. All seats were taken up but the bench was available (we got our coffee to go anyway). The service was pleasant and the barista explained two of the drinks to me. It had a nice, laid-back vibe but on to the coffee. I am not a coffee snob or connoisseur - I'm someone who absolutely LOVES Starbucks and pretty much just their sugary drinks (lattes/macchiatos). I ordered the macchiato and knowing how I am, I immediately added some cream and sugar to it prior to tasting. Cream aside, I think this was a big mistake. Much like you "real coffee lovers" out there I think I ruined it by adding sugar because this was actually good coffee (I could tell under all the sugar I just had to stir in). Like coffee that even someone like me (sugary coffee lover) could enjoy. I will definitely return to try some of their other drinks (not straight coffee though - can't do it)! read more
