I used a groupon and was able to get a same day appointment which went quickly and smoothly. I highly recommend this place. Lots of places nearby to eat or grab coffee while you wait if necessary. This place is a scum ! They tries to rip me off! This guy said my smog test FAILED cus i missing the oil dipstick. What does the oil dipstick has to do with smog ? He also said there is no retest with the Groupon, i have to pay another 14.95$ for a retest after i get a oil dipstick from Mercedes dealer. Mercedes cars dont use oil dipstick ! You check the oil level on the on-board computer in the dashboard ! read more

Called this morning to make an appointment and the gentleman on the phone told me I didn't need an appointment to just go in. Came in thinking it was going to be a long wait but thankfully the smog was done in a timely matter. I was greeted by a gentleman named Marco who was very nice and professional. This is a great location for a smog check. Umit is very professional and he will get you in and out in under 20 minutes. The location is superb, it is right off of the Gilman exit in Berkeley, on San Pablo avenue, it is very easy to get to. Also, the price for the test is excellent (under 30). I wouldn't go anywhere else for my next smog check. read more

I've been using them for the past 8 years, although it was Yen's Auto Repair up to a few years ago. Fast, friendly and the best deal that I've found in the East Bay. There are prices posted up on the board for about $75.00. Print out and bring in the $24.75 coupon, the grand total should be about $33.00. Was in and out within 20 minutes at 10 am on a Thursday morning. Thanks Hassan! read more

5 stars for Hassan, friendly and efficient and willing to describe what he does. 5 stars for the actual service which went fine at the predicted 20 minutes in length (it's an older car so needed to be on the dynamometer). 5 stars for the location: pass the waiting time at nearby Tokyo Fish Market, Whole Foods, Narain's Repair, Hidia Tool and Knife or REI. 1 star off for the online pricing which is for "vehicles 2000 and newer". If your car is older, or any sort of truck, you have to haggle. I prefer up front pricing not the cheapest deal. read more

I found this place on Yelp. Since it got a lot of good reviews, I figured I'd try it. Well, I'm glad I did. When I arrived, there was no one ahead of me, so Hassan was able to do my smog check right away. He said it would take about 10 minutes, but it actually seemed like it was less than 10 minutes. I didn't even have time to finish eating the lunch that I brought! Hassan was such a nice guy and super friendly and upbeat. He gave me a chair to sit on outside, so that I could enjoy the beautiful weather while eating my lunch. I'll definitely be coming here again for my next smog check. Don't forget to mention the Yelp discount. read more

My car has had the smoke check at the different stations in 15 Years, but I have worst experience with this place currently. This smoke check station is a dishonest place , the sneaky person is in charge the station. They putted the ad on the internet everywhere, and said they are the lowest price in the area and getting the people to come over by deception. After you got here, they will be using the different reasons to rise the price and you will be end up that have to pay higher than average price in other place. On the top of this, the guy in this place was very very rude. To my surprise when I spoke to my best friend, she also has had the same experience in this worst place. I really should not go to this place to do the smoke check. read more

Quick service with no hidden fees. I passed up another neighborhood smog shop when I found they wanted to add a $10 fee because I had a hybrid, when their ad did not mention it. Turns out that EZ, rated here, was upfront about all costs and fees, and was actually $4 less expensive that the other shop, in spite of the other shop's add claiming a lower price. Their ad was quite clear that the coupon price was cash-only, which was fine with me. I will certainly go back here. Hassan did the work, and was polite, upbeat, and efficient. read more
