We absolutely love love love Eyeworks in southlake! We (kids, hubby and I) have been coming here since we moved here and the docs and entire staff are so caring, take their time, and know what they are doing. It's so comforting to know they are knowledgeable and care about my family and me. One of our daughters has had an especially rough time with her eyes and style, popped blood vessel, really dry eyes, etc and with consistent care the doctor has been amazing in solving the root of the problem. We went to another Eyeworks location once earlier this year because our doc was at a conference ans were not happy at all. The southlake location has been amazing every single time. Dr Gill is 5 stars. The rest of the place is eh. Parking can be a bit of a pain, it's a little bit awkward where the building is located. The staff is hit and miss. Sometimes they are friendly, but none seem terribly invested in their job or helping people. I've had to sit waiting for an hour WITH an appointment. I've seen people leave bc they can't sit and wait so long (I don't blame them) Prices are extremely high - if you don't have good insurance benefits, I would not recommend. read more

After 8+ years as a customer, I'm done as of today. The Doctors are always nice. the front office folks are super nice if your driving a Maserati or something of that caliber. I'm an econobox or classic car kind of guy and they are always "mean girl from a high school movie" when I talk with them. Today I went in as I get to the desk the girl behind the desk puts on her mask and after asking who I was and did I have an appointment asked if I had a mask. I said I have a gator in the car, but there is no mask mandate, she said "too bad". so I left. They have the right to set their client base and I have the right to choose where I spend my money. If the mask was really important and required she would have already had hers on when I walked in. Guess all that breathing s she was doing before I went in was counteracted by putting on her mask after I got to the counter read more

Be careful, they will take your money. They offer "specialty" service and double the price for everything. They did not tell me they were charging for a service (that is usually part of the exam) and charged me an extra $160 dollars at the register. They also told me they would take my insurance over the phone however when I arrived, they wouldnt take it because it was medical and not vision. I did not get contacts because they were triple the price of what i pay ordering online. read more

Dr.Robert Chu is amazing! I've been a patient for 10+ years&could not be more satisfied with my experience. I first started going to Eyeworks (Hulen) in 2006 mainly because they specialize in Ortho-K lenses. I've been wearing Ortho-K since. Love not having to worry about contacts during the day! Its life changing (especially bc I suffer from seasonal itchy eyes during spring daytime)!! If you've never heard of Ortho-K, ask Eyeworks about it - great option for contact wearers. I switched to Southlake when they opened because it was closer. Every checkup is always A++! Dr.Chu is always kind, patient, caring and diligent. One time he refitted the shape of my Ortho-K lenses to better correct my vision overnight; and it has done wonders! He is skilled in his field and I know I can always trust his judgment/recommendation. Even though I moved to Austin past few years, I still always return to DFW for my eye exams. I highly recommend Eyeworks. Staff is always so friendly. They genuinely care&provide the best to help you achieve great vision! read more

I am so thankful for the whole Eyeworks team. All are so nice and helpful. My vision is very tricky because of severe cornea scarring. Dr Robert Chu was able to correct my vision with scleral contacts and when that became too difficult Dr Richard Chu performed a cornea transplant. I was sold a pair of glasses that do not have what I paid for. The glasses (lens) coating coming off and has been made 2 times before. When I went in to try and get reimbursed for a pair of glasses that I did not get, was told No Refunds. So I guess because I am a75 year old man they can do that to me. I would not take my worst enemy there and a one star is about 3 more than they deserve. read more

Went to Eye Works for the first time for my yearly exam. The staff couldn't have been any more friendlier and welcoming. I was blown away by the thoroughness of the entire screening process. I have never been put through so many diagnostic test during previous visits to in-store/big box optometry clinic. Dr. Strub was such a professional and had the kindest bedside manner, and performed a very rigorous examination ensuring all my questions and concerns were addressed. I was very disappointed by the lack of respect for my time. I showed up early, got the prescreening done, but waited well over an hour for the doctor to come in. Like his staff, he was very professional, but when I asked why he was so late, his explanation floored me. He explained they had a a walk-in they had to serve. I was absolutely indignant. I made the latest appointment I could; but was bumped by a walk-in. What was really shocking was on the way out, the staff was all but tag-teaming me to get me to write a good review for them. They seemed non-plussed that I had to sit in a chair for almost two hours past my appointment time waiting on the doctor. Had I known he would not see me for another hour and a half, my work day would have been over and I would not have wasted any of my precious leave. Their lack of respect for my time let me know how much they really value their customers. It was my first and last appointment with Eyeworks. read more

The Eye Works team is a wonderful representation of a true partner in eye care. Dr. Benedick and Dr. Chu provided an accurate and prompt diagnosis of a potentially serious eye issue. Stopped by to see if they could fix a $400 pair of designer glasses that I bought from this clinic 4 years ago. The older skinny lady I spoke with was completely cold and rude, she had a demeaning tone to her voice and basically said there was nothing they could do to fix it. Bad day maybe? Or she's just one miserable b. I had to ask what other options I had to fix the frame and she said to look on amazon for parts and drop it off else where.... okay thanks. I wish there is a ZERO STAR* to rate this Optometrist office on Southlake boulevard. This office should change their name to MABIC Optometry (MABIC=Make a BAD impression on clients). Stay away from them. This office is very fraudulent for both patients and insurance. I went in to have my eyes examined sometimes in May 2019 and I saw the owner, Dr. Robert Chu, I complained of very severe dry eyes that failed over the counter eye drops and ointments and he never suggested prescribing prescription drug Restasis but suggested getting a Plug-in for dry eyes (definitely for more insurance payment). I researched the side effects of Plug-In on google and had some concerns. Therefore, I called the office relating my concerns. I was told me to come in and talked to the doctor about my concerns. on 6/11/19, I came in and saw an optometrist Sarah Talbot, OD who told me that she will put in 7 days temporary Plugs to see if my body will reject it and if it works, I can come in and put in a permanent one. She told me no charges since it is a temporary for ONLY 7 DAYS. This fraudulent optometrist practice billed my insurance for $670 and I also had $120 deductible I had to pay. The insurance paid the entire bill minus deductible. When I asked to come in and get fitted for permanent one, I was told by the office manager named Yara there will be a charge. She is very rude and does not care about patients. I am still suffering from severe dry eyes that wakes me up at night so I can pit in eye drops/ointment and they have not attempted to make me whole as i no longer have insurance to see an optometrist. I am filing a complaint with Board of Optometry and other patient advocates group because all Dr. Robert Chu cared about is money and not good patient outcome from eyes problems. Watch your bills as well and do not allow this office to con into undergoing a procedure that will enable them to bill your insurance TWICE. Very rude manager as well (she hung on me). Whatever happened to concerns for patient condition. This office is all about money. Go somewhere else. They will probably pay google to have this review removed but am reporting this to the Texas Board. read more

This was my first visit to Eyeworks for a routine exam, switching from another Southlake Optometrist. Requested an appointment online on a Saturday and received a call back that same afternoon to confirm. Choose a convenient time early the next week. Once I arrived, they were very efficient and I was taken back for my exam at the appointment time. The Technician and Dr. Mor were friendly and communicated very well. Although I did not purchase new frames, I am having them put in new lenses in my old frames. That process was very efficient as well. The Designer and high-end rame selection looks outstanding if you are looking for frames. Insurance was handled at the office. All in all, very nice office. I will return. read more

We had the worst experience and will not ever return to this eye doctor practice. My husband wears regular contacts and not speciality lenses. Upon arriving, the practice would only do the eye exam if we agreed to pay for a speciality contact lense fitting and when we refused and asked to speak to the doctor, a man came from the back and was very rude when we questioned the charges. He said he would drop the price by 30 dollars but it was way too high. I told him that if he billed for a speciality visit and didn't actually perform those services, it would be fraudulent billing. I'm calling the insurance commissioner and my insurance company to have these people investigated. read more

Be VERY careful. We went there and the prescription was double of what we normally get. Questioned Dr and she said it was right. Got glasses filled and could not see out of them. Took them back to her and she said the prescription was right but she will go ahead and write for less since we wouldn't wear them long enough to get used to them. Really so you need to wear glasses you can't see out of near or far just so your eyes get bad enough that you really need them?? Is that how it works? Didn't get it filled as we did not believe her. Went to ophthalmologist and he said the prescription was wrong. Do not wear it!! Be VERY careful especially with children. I do not trust them and want to get the word out. read more

I was a new patient today. The facility was nice and clean. The lady who checked me in and did my initial tests was extremely friendly and did a great job. The doctor, although seemly a little hurried with her exam, was good. The older gentleman with gray hair and glasses checked me out. When I asked about the pricing of two types of contact lenses he literally sighed in my face and mumbled "oh my god" under his breath with me standing right in front of him. It completely caught me off guard. I won't return here, but at least I will have contacts for the next year. read more

Changed scheduled appointments twice. After eye exam the sales person that was "helping" me find a pair of glasses acted as if I were intruding on their free time. When asked to price a pair of glasses it took 10 min for the sales person to return. Decided to take prescription else where after receiving what I felt was poor service. Asked receptionist to fax to me on 3 separate occasions but she failed to do so. Drove back to store and got the cold shoulder when I asked for my prescription.
