Our daughter was in a tough spot this week! She's at college, complaining that her eye sight was changing, and that her glasses were giving her migraines. We were lucky enough to get her an eye appointment with our optometrist BUT they couldn't get her glasses back to her any sooner than 3 to 4 weeks. This was an impossible situation for her. The lenses in my favorite frames were pretty scratched up and the coating coming off. I'm an inpatient person and don't like to wait. Found this shop and walked in without an appt, asked if he could help and Andy said yes! Told me he could have it done in less than an hour! I said sign me up! He took some measurements, then I headed off to grab a bite to eat and he called about 30 min later and said "They are ready" the new lenses were perfect and now I can continue wearing my favorite frames! OK, if I'm wrong another review will follow, but I don't think I am. I'm so certain that I'm doing this review before I have my glasses. I went in today because Luxe is listed on Eye Bobs website as a dealer. I have a pair of Eye Bobs readers that I love and when I learned they were doing progressive readers I wanted a pair. But as of now they are available only on line. So I wanted to try on some of the frames they are doing the progressives in to see how they would look on my remarkably handsome 68 year old, ridden hard and put up wet face. In the store I told Andy (the proprietor Eldar Frolov goes by Andy) "You don't have what I am looking for here as they are not in stores yet, but I wonder if you would let me try on some of the Eye Bob frames that they are doing the progressives in to see how they look on me." He said, "Thank you for being honest, sure". But before I ever got to the Eye Bob's our conversation led very casually to what he could do for me in the Eye Bob frames that I have and love but in which Eye Bobs is not doing progressives. End result he is doing progressives that will be superior to the Eye Bobs progressives because of lens coating, etc., in the frames I have and love. Yeah, I will have just one pair of nice readers now instead of two, rather than one progressive and one not. But it will be in the frame I love and with a superior lens custom profiled to my line of vision. Andy is a remarkably gracious, knowledgable, and non-pressure professional who provides you with the information you need to make a buying choice. The owner, Eldar, helped me figure out what was best for me based on the shape of my head, style, color preferences, prescription, etc. He was patient, informative and polite. I was shopping for my next pair of glasses there, trying them on and taking pictures of myself with the glasses on so I could see what they looked like, when I was told that I had taken enough pictures and to come back when I was ready to buy. I explained to him that I have my prescription and I'm shopping for glasses because I need new glasses and the only way I can see what they look like on is to take a picture. I had probably only been there for 20 minutes, I was quiet and polite when I was looking, he had one customer in there that he was already helping and I didn't want to interrupt but he told me that I was done shopping and blocked the drawers so I left. I went to Luxe Optix looking for something different than all the hundreds of other eyeglass places offer. I was so excited to find such a variety of designer frames to choose from and so many unusual designs from classy to funky. Eldar, the owner, is extremely knowledgeable of the types of lenses available for various prescriptions. This is important to me as I have an extremely complex prescription. He was very helpful in choosing the correct frames that fit my face. He was very patient and helped me to find the right glasses for me. Eldar also custom makes all the lenses in his office. I just picked up my new FACEAFACE brand glasses and am extremely satisfied with the frames, but even more so with the lenses. They are top of line quality and he made the lenses thin enough that you cant see them outside of the frames.....I have never had that anywhere else, even paying for the top of the line thin lenses available. It wasn't on my radar at first because they only sell eyewear, no optometrists, but it's worth the trip. My experience with Edgar was far different than other reviews. My wife and I went to look for glasses on a Saturday. I had just left Eyes Nouveau in Southlake, which was full of people looking for glasses being served by the nicest and most professional sales team I've experienced at a optical store. It was the complete opposite experience upon entering this small unattractive storefront staffed with 1 person and no customers. That should have been a clue. I was met by Edgar. Immediately, he launched into a tirade against the brand of frames, I had been considering, telling me they were all SH**. Without listening to what I was saying, he started pushing the more expensive brands and styles even though I was quite clear my price point and showed him pictures of the shape. Again, cuss words started flying with everything I suggested being labeled a SH**. By this point I had seen and heard enough of this man speaking like that in front of my wife. I told him we would be leaving due to his very unprofessional behavior and rudeness to which he said some smart ass comment while we walked out the store. No way would I ever walk back into this store. read more
