Citrus Park EyeCare is no different than any other small EyeCare business. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's certainly not a great thing. Sometimes it's best to go with what you know. My experience was just lukewarm. I did not go for an eye exam, for all I know they may have an outstanding staff of Doctors, I cannot speak for that. My only objective was to purchase a new pair of glasses maybe even two. I was able to find two solid options that matched my criteria. Prices are comparable to other EyeCare places, the buy one get one at 40% off is not a bad deal. Though I was able to find my glasses I still wish they had more of an inventory. My prescription has been the same for some years now. I wanted a pair with tint and one regular. Ended with only the regular pair due in large to poor salesmanship from the office staff. As I'm about to pay for my glasses, I'm getting questioned on my current RX by the lady in the front desk. Not to nitpick but I just wasn't diggin the tone nor the body language. From past experiences I see EyeCare centers tend to do this often (question your RX) to add on to your bill... I get it, but that doesn't excuse the subtle attitude, there is a right way and a wrong way to do things. I found it unprofessional. My RX is not only minor but it's good for another two years, that's all there is to it. No need to sweat me over something insignificant. Anyway.. My glasses came back from the lab in less than a week. Only problem was they arrived w/o the anti-glare that I paid for. Teri was kind enough to call and explain the error and said they'd be ready in four business days. Long story short, they were still not ready in the end. I was forced to call and get out of character on the phone. Mistakes happen, but the bottom line is they were supposed to have my glasses ready on time. Having to travel that weekend, meant I'd have to wait another week to get my glasses. That was a problem. Despite Teri being in the center of this mishap. She went out of her way to pick up the glasses to ensure my satisfaction, that's great Customer Service. Not to bash anybody, but she outperformed everyone IMO. Final thoughts... I am happy with my glasses. In the end that's most important to me. Still, CPE appears to be for a different type of crowd. The location is good, plenty of parking. Hours of operation not so great. Closed by 5pm most weekdays and closed on weekends. 2.5 stars for CPE, 5 stars for Teri.

Example, doctor wanted me to tape my eye closed for the weekend after an unsuccessful procedure , instead of offering a partial roll of 99 cent tape to take home he pointed out that I need to go to the store to purchase a small roll. You would think that the doctor would just say take this tape and and keep it closed or offer it for purchase instead of sending me to the store. And to be clear, this office is very expensive. Fortunately, I have wonderful insurance and the stem cell treatment was fully covered, but come on, they couldn't offer a small roll of medical tape for patient convenience.

I ordered contacts at the end of December and began having issues immediately. I contacted the office to report the problem, but when I finally received a callback, I had to repeatedly explain the situation to multiple people. I was then given the wrong trial contacts and had to call again to receive the correct pair. On several occasions, I never received a callback and had to continually follow up myself. I finally had an appointment today to show them the issue with the contacts, only to be told I would be charged AGAIN for a fitting. There is no issue with how the contacts fit my eyes -- the problem is with the batch of contacts I was provided. Additionally, my husband had to return four separate times to get the correct eyeglass prescription because the original prescription was inaccurate. This office seriously lacks customer service and follow-through. They need a better system for tracking patient phone calls and reported issues so that when an appointment is finally scheduled, there is documentation showing the concern was reported well within the 90-day period. Unfortunately, due to the lack of follow-up and constant runaround from their office, I was pushed beyond the 90-day window and am now expected to pay another $90. No thank you. Based on other reviews, it appears this company still has significant work to do to improve their customer service and patient care.

I have VSP insurance, which they accept and it offers some additional perks/discounts I wouldn't get elsewhere. Setting up an appointment was a breeze, which I did online. When you walk in the joint, they greet you and send you the area you need to be in (i.e. I had an eye exam appointment so i was sent to the desk that handles that). There wasn't a long wait and the checkup was quick and easy. After getting all that done, I got handed off to a different person that helps with choosing glasses to fit your needs. They confirm your insurance and what coverage you get and advise of any pricing and options so you can pick and choose what you want. If you don't have insurance coverage or already used it, they also have specials they run. Took about 2 weeks to get my glasses, which is pretty normal. I came in and picked them up and they can make adjsutments for you to make sure they are comfortable from both a fit and prescription standpoint. They also give you a guarantee that allows you to swap out your glasses in a certain timeframe if they don't work fo you. Visionworks makes it easy so I'll continue to patronize their business for my vision needs.

I had my five year-old's appointment today, I'm glad they open at 8 AM because we were in and out of there with him getting to daycare by 9 AM. My five-year-old is very energetic. I feel like everyone who saw him did a great job directing his energy at the task at hand. It is not easy to give a five year-old an eye exam, but I felt like they did everything they normally do with me and didn't find it daunting to make sure he was paying attention. I really appreciate it how they took the time to answer all his questions and just genuinely seemed to find him interesting and not annoying. Dr. Lee did a good job keeping up a study stream of speech to occupy his attention while conducting the exam. At the end of the day, his eyesight fell into the realm of normal, but it was really great to have this full check since it is a very quick one of the pediatrician. I really appreciate how they automatically make an appointment for you next year at the same time. In the waiting room they have toys, I actually think the toys were new because I didn't see them at my older son's check last year. It was a great addition because my younger son happily played with the toys until he was called back, which wasn't that much time at all. If you are looking for an Eye Doctor for either yourself or the kids, I highly recommend this one.

So far, our experiences have been very positive, but recently we spent a lot of money there, and when we went to pick up the glasses, they just handed them to us without so much as a case. I have some extras at home, but I remember that the cases they provided in the past have been nice. So I went back and explained that this was bothersome to me, and given the amount we spent, it seemed like a small ask. They explained that since we didn't buy the frame there, even though that particular redo cost over $1,200 (yes, very expensive) they don't give a case. I explained that this was a unique situation where the original case was lost as were the glasses that precipitated us coming in. It didn't matter to them, so I walked out and will not be going back. Which is a shame because we like the Doctor and both the people that are front of house. Oh well. Penny wise and pound foolish. The case probably cost them $20 max, but now we will just move our business up the street to someone who values our business.
