Excellent and friendly customer service. The office smells so good! I've been to another location, but liked this one the best. I didn't feel my eye exam was as extensive as ones I've had in the past, though it was sufficient. I plan to return again. read more

When my doctor told me to get an eye exam, I found that most of my family uses this location and are happy with the results. I now see why that is. I was greeted as soon as I came through the door and everything was set in motion. Heidy was my guide and it was a brisk paced tour de optics with 3 different exams and the eyeglass ordering process. I described to Heidy what I wanted and she found me 3 different options in under a minute. Made my choice, put in my order and did not have to pay a cent as it was all covered by my insurance. A quick and painless experience customized to your pace and designed for your comfort. I'll be back in a year for my checkup. read more

We came here to have my daughter's eyes checked after she complained of not being able to see the board at school. I signed up online through Optical Outlets website, then completed the follow-up medical questionnaire they asked me to fill out in preparation for her exam. On the day of her exam, we arrived a few minutes early. As we checked in, I was handed the same medial questionnaire sheet that I had already filled out online. I told them I had already filled it out, but the staff member we spoke with said that they didn't have access to that information. I told them no problem, I have a copy in my email. They were very combative with me and told me that would not be acceptable. Basically, fill out this paperwork...again, or get lost. Grudgingly, I did. Once she was able to see the optometrist, everything was fine and her eye exam proceeded as normal then we received her prescription. The doctor was very nice and helpful, but we did decide to go elsewhere to buy her frames though. I didn't want to deal with the unfriendy vibe with the floor room staff. read more

New management! Amazing difference. **** BEST EYE DOCTOR still there.**** DR Joshua Reed. Explained every test...each result....and took all the time needed to answer all my questions.Since I'm in my 70's...eye health and my vision is of the highest concern for me. I TRULY value Dr Reed and feel his annual check-ups to be an integral part of my long term health care. And with my medicare coverage, was able to get free glasses and extended in depth examination. read more

I could not be happier with the service I received. Staff was super friendly from receptionist, Doctor and sales counselor. My appointment was for 2:15PM I was 15 minutes early, I was seen early (about 2:05 PM) and looked at my phone clock on the way out the door when finished and it read 2:38PM...amazing and very efficient. I didn't feel rushed or pushed into anything I didn't want to buy. No up-sale tactics. No wonder this Optical Outlet has the best reviews in Tampa. Marty read more

This was a great experience! Very clean and professional. The welcome/registration team was very nice. The doctor had a great sense of humor and really put me at ease during my exam. He was very professional and very funny. Special shout out to Sydney, who took care of our glasses selection and billing. Sydney went above and beyond to make sure we understood everything, and made us feel wonderful about our choices. She is an outstanding example of Customer Service in a time when that seems to be a lost skill. Please recognize Sydney and the rest of the Optical Outlet team. We will be back and refer lots of friends here because of the great Service. Thank you! read more

My daughters were refused treatment because the office did not properly handle my insurance. We were kept waiting for 45 minutes. Avoid this company, it provides incompetent service. read more

This place is strange....It's shabby, outdated and every time I walked in, one guy was just sitting there looking mad. Things scattered on desks, and frames were dirty. The manager was helpful but in an indifferent and snobby way. When I picked up my glasses, even worse. She acted she didn't even know me. I don't enjoy going to a place paying almost $400 for cold shoulder. The other female who helped me was also incompetent. She can't even clean glasses well). I noticed there was tiny bubble in between my lenses, and I had to fine tune, clean the glasses again myself. The workmanship was doubtful. read more

This was my second time visiting this office. The first time was for my daughter and the experience was so pleasant I decided to return for myself. I was not disappointed. Just as the first time the visit was nice. The office staff was very nice. They were dressed professionally and behaved that way as well. The doctor was very thorough and took her time. The only drawback was that they charged me $30 because I wanted to use my same frames from a couple of years ago. If I had chosen new frames using my insurance it would not have cost me a penny. That was disappointing. But other than that the experience was pleasant. read more

THE absolute BEST and only place I go for my eye exams and eye ware . First , easy to make an appointment and they actually take you at your appointment time. Super efficient and well -organized facility ran by store manager Christine Ortega. Christine becomes your new best friend guiding you through the selection process, offers great advice and suggestions, and is so sweet and helpful you leave very happy. After having 3 pairs of glasses updated and rushed (2 day turn around) I lost my new prescription sunglasses the next day- ouch- humbled in on Monday morning Christine hooked me up and I got my replacement 2 days before I left for my cruise! There is a huge selection plus availability from their other stores as well, great pricing , parking and my favorite eye dr. ever, Dr. Jennifer Buzzett. She is friendly and efficient and the only dr that doesn't confuse me with the "better, worse or no difference " question! Really hated To write this review, only BC I wanted to keep them a secret! read more

Within two weeks the left lens has popped out twice on a brand new pair of glasses. I was told to wait till the next time it pops out and to bring the glasses in (again) to send out to be repaired. Would take a week to 10 days to get them back. Since I can't function without them, seems like they would stand behind their work and send me a new pair... would be more than happy to bring by the defective glasses when the new ones arrive. I guess you get what you pay for... Next time I will go somewhere they can fix what they make. Besides the attitude behind the desk was a bit condescending. read more

The worst.. I got my glasses done in June 2016, today is Feb 1 2017 and I called because a film on my lenses is fading out so it bothers me to see. I cant see clear, so I talk to the manager Christina and she tells me I have to pay to get them redone. they are charging me half of what cost me to get it done the first time around. Do not recommend them because they don't stand behind their product. she did not even try to help out knowing I was upset at the fact that I had them for 6 months. read more

In fairness, I did not use the Dr at this office, so this review does not pertain to her. In filling my script, however, I had no end of trouble. At first, the anti glare film I had put on the lenses would not come clean. After bringing them back several times and discussing it, nothing was done. I used the glasses (the worst ones I had ever had.) Almost two years later, the film started peeling off, making blotches on the lenses. Finally, after much discussion, they decided they would replace my glasses, which they did, though not in a timely fashion. Then maybe a month later, one of the lenses popped out and they were unable to tighten the frame adequately in the store, so they sent it back to the lab. It took nearly THREE weeks for the lab to tighten the lens and send it back. The staff was polite and respectful but the whole experience was less than satisfactory. read more

The worst customer experience I have ever received!! My appointment was at 4:00pm I did not leave until 7:00pm. I was told I had to order my glasses and have them shipped to me and the time frame they gave has been off and now I'm getting the run around with them giving different answers every time I call. I will never do any services with then again! read more

First, I came here because I just didn't like another nearby optometrist and for 2 years I've had a weak prescription he wouldn't change. The lady who did my initial exam was great and funny. The doctor is awesome! Helpful, answered all my questions, etc. Now comes the next person. Didn't help me at all with frames, the ones I looked at seemed a bit high in price and I needed to get back to work so I asked for my prescription and said I'm going back to work. She seemed a bit upset that I wanted my prescription, just printed it and got up and walked away. Not like she was helping me determine what would be most economical using my benefits. I thought maybe she was grabbing something else but just left while I was still putting away my wallet. I'll see the dr but probably won't get anything else here. Thanks, Dr!! read more

My husband made an appointment at this location and their earliest appointment was weeks out. The day before the appointment the called and said they had to reschedule due to the doctor working that day did not take the insurance that was provided during the scheduling. My husband had to take time off of work for the appointment so now he lost income and didn't get his eyes checked. They reschedule for another day and time. The day before that appointment the office calls with the a scheduling conflict and they have to move the appointment later in the day. So again my husband looses income and ends up not getting his eyes checked. Then they call and reschedule that appointment. Each time my husband has cleared his schedule missing work to make an appointment and they wait till the end of the day just before his appointment to reschedule so their is no time to be able to confirm going to work. The last straw was this last appointment was for 9am this morning and a text comes through our phones at 1:45am changing the appointment AGAIN! He had taken off the first half of the morning for the appointment and now it was moved to the afternoon. Our family just cannot continue to lose income due to their lake of ability to schedule. This office does not have any respect for their customers time. read more

Amanda was very helpful and friendly with answering all my questions with contacts and glasses.

This is not a review about the doctor. This is a review about the desk clerk and the way she responded to me today. I was a walk-in. The gentleman at the desk said if I am willing to wait 30 minutes, then I could be seen. I agreed and filled out the paperwork. After 10 minutes, a different desk clerk arrived, female, and she called out my name to let me know that I was not in the book and that I would be treated as a walk-in. I took this as an alert so I asked her if there was a change from what the previous clerk had told me. In other words, was there a change in the 30 minutes estimation he had given me? Her response, very vague, was not helpful in whether not I should stay or go.I asked a few more questions in trying to get more information and insight from her on whether or not I should go. She seemed to suggest that I was trying to boot someone out of their appointment. I am still trying to figure out why it was so hard to communicate with her. It got to the point that another clerk had to come over and actually answer my questions. Once I had my questions answered, I realize the wait would be too long and I last. Something that was so simple had to turn out to be so complicated and it was a very frustrating experience. It was to the point that a lady who was waiting in the waiting area actually tried to defend the clerk against me because she perceived it as me giving the clerk a hard time. Such a ridiculous situation and all because the clerk was defensive, couldn't figure out what I was asking and it was a complete waste of Everyone's time. I was flexible in my timing and was happy to wait 30 to 45 minutes and if they couldn't fit me and I was happy to leave peacefully. I just still do not understand why it was such a complicated situation. read more

I went to the office on Dale Mabry and bought 2 pairs of glasses on 10/29/2016. They didn't bother to contact me when the glasses arrived until after I called them. I picked up my glasses and both pairs were incorrect. I took them back and was told "they would have to send them back and that when they do that it takes a bit longer." I waited for 3 wks. No one called. I called them back and was told they weren't in yet. On 12-9-16 I still had no glasses and no calls. I went back to the store and they found both pairs of glasses sitting in a pile behind the desk. I was told all they needed to do "was teak" the glasses. At this point it had been over 6 wks and no one bothered to call me or "teak" my glasses. I asked for a refund and was told the office manager would call me that following Monday because she was the only person that could give me the refund. Waited until afternoon, surprise, no calls! I called and was told they would give me a refund but it usually takes 3 to 5 days. It has now been 7 days and still no refund. Will have to call them AGAIN tomorrow. This is the worst place to purchase glasses. Will never go back. read more
