Although it's only rarely happened in the past few years, they offered me water when they were running late. I thought this was nice touch. Running behind doesn't happen often, but they are prepared to accommodate you just in case. Jennifer, the technician, worked me up prior to seeing the doctor. She is very sweet! After Jennifer was finished, I saw dr. Kaufman. He was personable and kind. He said my glasses prescription had changed and my eyes were overall healthy. Next, I went to the optical and they had a great selection of glasses. Misha, the optician, helped me pick some out frames. She didn't pressure me into buying anything which was refreshing. Other optical shops have made me feel pressured to buy expensive frames I did not want. Not the case at kaufman eye institute! I ended up buying a cute pair of glasses. I no longer dread my annual eye exams, thanks to kaufman eye for making my appointments such a pleasant experience.

You go in and wait, wait, wait. Unbelievable!!! Don't go there unless you have a lot of time and a lot of money. I will be looking for more reliable eye care else ware. The nursing staff, anesthetist, front desk made the experience so much easier than I had imagined. The center is very new-looking and does not have a "hospital" smell. There is plenty of parking. I was impressed with the friendly efficiency, the clear-cut organization, the willingness to listen to me when I was advising about my brother, the concern and support for me during the experience, and the obvious joy they feel when they are doing their work to the best of their ability. They REALLY wanted my brother to see again; I felt very confident that my brother was getting the best care possible. Special shout-out to Jodie who wanted me to report on how my brother is recovering: he now can see me coming into a room and is much more involved in his surroundings. We still have the other cataract to remove, and I will be back to this wonderful facility. Maybe it doesn't have all the bells and whistles some other places have, but it does have a professional and caring staff that makes your concerns theirs. Well-done!!!

She was told by a…read moreretina specialist in Pennsylvania (where she lives) that she required major surgery with a face- down recovery of several weeks. She was diagnosed there with a Macular Hole. With the use of the latest technological advances, Dr. Dunne was able to diagnose her with a pseudohole and one that is not the more aggressive type. He advised close monitoring but stated that it may never require surgery at all. Additionally, the recovery period, should surgery ever become necessary, does not even require full face- down recovery and the protocol calls for several DAYS of caution and minor posturing. We are grateful beyond words!!! My mother- in-law was facing possibly months of physical therapy, pain, and lack of independence for a surgery she didn't need at all! From the friendly voice on the phone who fit her into the schedule on short notice, to Marcus who ran the tests and diagnostics, to the doctor himself, this office is fantastic!! They are all so very nice, efficient, with excellent communication every step of the process with virtually no waiting!! Everything was explained in great detail and all questions were answered!
