So as we continue the saga of finding really good doctors in Tampa, I happened to stumble upon Doctor Jennifer Cook. I've gone to an optical outlet store, like LensCrafters or some other chain, but I really wanted a professional to look at my eyes and make sure that there was nothing wrong. Finding the place was pretty easy as it's right next door to the Dollar Tree store in Lutz. Extremely convenient and of course lots of parking. So I go in and it looks like a salon or part of someone's home . I absolutely loved it! It felt very personable like you are welcomed in somebody's home as the staff came and greeted you at the door. Now mind you, I read all the reviews about Dr. Cook and I loved what I read. I have been waiting 3 months to see her and I must say it was not only worth the wait but worth every penny! So they bring me through the process of signing the papers for HIPAA, brought me into examine my eyes and take the normal test for glaucoma, and then I only had to wait about 10 minutes to see the doctor. While I was waiting, this beautiful dog named Bosco came to greet me! What an adorable english bulldog and only 10 months old. I got to pet him and see him spring into action. There was a playroom for kids and Bosco came out of the playroom on a little scooter! OMG! I just couldn't help but laugh. The office also had massage chairs in case you didn't want to sit in the traditional chair. There was also coffee, soda and water available as well. So I went in to see Dr Cook and we discussed all my concerns and what I was looking for in both a pair of glasses and contacts. She was extremely thorough and explained everything to me in detail. She was very personable and funny too! Bosco even got to join us as well. So again if you're really considering going to see a great professional optometrist she would be it. You will never find me going to an outlet like America's Best or LensCrafters to get my eyes checked out again. She also takes most Vision plans like VSP but I would call ahead and ask her staff to make sure that you are covered. It's definitely worth seeing her and worth the wait.

Very elegant ! Sitting in a spa chair!

The staff and Dr. Brady are the most courteous and professional in the area. If I could I would give this office five stars.

Why can't I ever get through in phone? It's always a busy tone.

Daniel helped setup my appointment over the phone and explained any questions I had. Once I got there I was greeted by Daniel and he took me in one of the rooms to take an eye exam. Daniel is very calm and very patient, as he explained everything in great detail along the way. I have been wearing glasses my entire life so I wanted to try Contact Lenses for the first time. Shortly after Dr. Vo came in and explained everything to me regarding my eye exam and any questions I had about contact lenses. Dr. Vo was very patient in explaining everything to me about contacts, and she simply put the lenses in my eye so show me how painless this was going to be. Finally I walked around the store in search of a pair of new glasses as well, the store is very clean and well organised. Finally I got to meet Ellie who is probably one of the sweetest people I have met in my life. Ellie helped me in picking out my frame and explaining all the different options and add ons along with pricing as I do not have insurance. Their office was very understanding with the add ons I selected for my glasses. I have been back to this office another 2 times for additional testing on my eyes due to some concerns from Dr. Vo. Thank you for being patient and understanding with me through the entire process and showing your concern.

Citrus Park EyeCare is no different than any other small EyeCare business. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it's certainly not a great thing. Sometimes it's best to go with what you know. My experience was just lukewarm. I did not go for an eye exam, for all I know they may have an outstanding staff of Doctors, I cannot speak for that. My only objective was to purchase a new pair of glasses maybe even two. I was able to find two solid options that matched my criteria. Prices are comparable to other EyeCare places, the buy one get one at 40% off is not a bad deal. Though I was able to find my glasses I still wish they had more of an inventory. My prescription has been the same for some years now. I wanted a pair with tint and one regular. Ended with only the regular pair due in large to poor salesmanship from the office staff. As I'm about to pay for my glasses, I'm getting questioned on my current RX by the lady in the front desk. Not to nitpick but I just wasn't diggin the tone nor the body language. From past experiences I see EyeCare centers tend to do this often (question your RX) to add on to your bill... I get it, but that doesn't excuse the subtle attitude, there is a right way and a wrong way to do things. I found it unprofessional. My RX is not only minor but it's good for another two years, that's all there is to it. No need to sweat me over something insignificant. Anyway.. My glasses came back from the lab in less than a week. Only problem was they arrived w/o the anti-glare that I paid for. Teri was kind enough to call and explain the error and said they'd be ready in four business days. Long story short, they were still not ready in the end. I was forced to call and get out of character on the phone. Mistakes happen, but the bottom line is they were supposed to have my glasses ready on time. Having to travel that weekend, meant I'd have to wait another week to get my glasses. That was a problem. Despite Teri being in the center of this mishap. She went out of her way to pick up the glasses to ensure my satisfaction, that's great Customer Service. Not to bash anybody, but she outperformed everyone IMO. Final thoughts... I am happy with my glasses. In the end that's most important to me. Still, CPE appears to be for a different type of crowd. The location is good, plenty of parking. Hours of operation not so great. Closed by 5pm most weekdays and closed on weekends. 2.5 stars for CPE, 5 stars for Teri.
