I had a great experience. Best eye exam ever. Both the doctor and the receptionist were very friendly and caring. At first I was thrown off my the funky atmosphere, but then it all turned out to be good in the end. Dr. Atkins is very knowledgeable. This place is great! I go to school right down the street so this was the most convenient location. I realized I needed glasses when I couldn't see the board in the front of class and boy did these guys HOOK ME UP! Quick exam, friendly doctor. Once it came to select glasses, BOY WAS I HOOKED UP. Have I not written a review about this place yet? Yeesh. Well, to start, I purchased a new pair of frames + had an exam with the doctor--who, by the way, is completely awesome. I bought my glasses back in April or so; my review is a bit dated, but I'm going to comment because the latest reviews have had bad experiences, so I figured I'd add to the collective 4-5 star reviews! I did not have an appointment, but rather a walk-in, which I was blown away by how fast I was able to get in the door and see the doctor. I was honestly just rummaging around the store to see what their frames were like, as I had no idea I could get my exam out of the way the day of! Paperwork took a bit, but that's to be expected. After waiting a bit, I spoke with Dr. Kerry, and I absolutely love his personality. Blunt, fast, and gets right to the point. He obviously listens to your concerns (if you have any) or your questions / comments, but with his expertise and speed, he's a top-notch optometrist. After finishing my exam, I did the search of finding the perfect pair. The sales associates helping me were completely and utterly amazing. I would grab a pair, try 'em on, and they'd tell me how they looked--objectively! It was a total process of 2 hours because... well, admittedly, the other hour was just from trying on frames alone. There were so many to choose from and I couldn't pick. After all that was said and done, I finally picked the glasses I wanted, and finished paying. When that was all processed, they told me it'd take up to "1-2 weeks" to get my prescription in the glasses. Not only did they finish within the time limit allotted, but they called in a few days prior and said that they were checking in and thinking of me, which I thought was sweet! :) Overall: 10/10. OK first of all I cannot say enough good things about Eyedentity! I have always had 2020 vision but unfortunately due to some medical stuff my vision has gotten pretty bad in the past year. I have never worn glasses in my life so i Imagined that the change would be quite difficult. When I walked into Eyedentity I told them of my situation and from then on they have absolutely bent over backwards to help me and make the change to glasses seamless. They are truly angels! Everyone that works in that store really do care about their work and It's so nice to know that you're not going get ripped off just for the sale but they actually are trying to do the best they can to help you improve vision and overall quality of life! When I came to my scheduled appointment on tim and entered the office, I was not properly greeted, noticed and was not told to which table to address for check in as there are three tables ( so i was little bit confused) left, right and straight, and all of these women were busy either talking on the phone, typing something on the computer or talking to other patients. I quietly walked around the room, looking at the glasses and waiting until somebody will get free. The customer service needs more attention and multitask proper at least saying: "Hello, we will be right back or something..." The doctor is so overbooked, the whole appointment was so rushed, so I barely had time to speak with the doctor about my concerns and ask all prepared questions. it looked like there is only 1 minute if not 30 seconds apart from next appointment. The only reason I came to see the doctor, is to check my retina as I have a risk for retina detachment, so I am required to check it regularly. I told doctor in the beginning of the appointment about this, but the whole appointment he just did the regular eye check and only at the end he asked if i want to dilute my eyes to take a closer look of my retina or i can do it next time (meaning to schedule another appointment?! and pay again). of course, I insisted on doing it then. He diluted my eyes with drops, put me in a waiting room, took another patient, after finishing with that patient, he started exam on me right away, without even sanitizing or washing his hands. I am not a clean freak or anything, but come on...at least sanitize your hands. I will never go back there, had bad experience. He maybe a good doctor, but I did not feel that I had a proper exam. read more

Nice staff and Dr. Best thing is appointments are never too far out in the future. Lately they've likely had an explosion of customers (good for them) so I'm probably being a bit harsh but every time I visit they have to spend minutes pulling my file and asking me if I remember when I came in last etc. Eventually they do pull out a hard copy from somewhere and then manager to misplaced it by my next visit. They are cool to hang out with so in the past this did not bother me but when short on time, oh well. I also had a tough time getting copy of my own prescription from them. I LOVE this store! In the past they helped my elderly Mama with a new prescription but she wanted to keep her old frames. No PROBLEM! Nice as could be. So when I needed new glasses I came here as well. They have an incredible, vast, varied selection for a rather small store. The people that work here are collaborative, fun and anything but stuffy. It is actually fun! Maayan has helped me three times to select frames. I call her "The Glass Whisperer". She picked out frames I never would have, that suit my face, and I get so many compliments. My most recent were prescription sunglasses that I love. She is patient and when I hesitated she said to take my time and check-in before placing the order. They have excellent customer service policies. Make an appointment here--you won't be disappointed. read more

I went here to purchase a pair of glasses, and ALL of the ladies who work here were extremely helpful. I have never received better customer service. I came in wanting a specific pair of glasses, but they showed me some other options which I ended up liking way more. It would have been easy on them to just let me buy the original pair that I wanted, but they knew what would look good on me and they showed me all of the options. Eyedentity used to have a great selection of frames, and their collection was organized in a way that made it easy for me to find the type of thing I was looking for. Over the years I got several nice pairs of glasses there, and I found the customer service to be good. But not so much anymore. It doesn't seem to me like their selection is quite as good as it used to be. But my concern is more about how unwelcome I was made to feel. Today I was there quietly browsing around 1:30 or 1:45 in the afternoon, trying to find frames for my new prescription, when I was surprised to suddenly be hustled out of the store. They'd had takeout delivered, and even though none of the shop assistants was helping me, I guess they just didn't want any customers around while they ate lunch. I have never been ushered out of a business before in the middle of the afternoon. They said "feel free to come back at 3:00," but I think I'll take my business elsewhere in the future. read more

It was a saga with these guys. I needed to buy new contact lenses and since it was not a US prescription I was advised to get that made first. Meanwhile I lived off test lenses. When I got my eyes checked for a new prescription, the doctor was efficient and examined the eyes thoroughly. That part was fine. Then the store staff lost my new prescription. And after several follow-up visits, it was found. The error was attributed to some confusion as they are moving from a paper patient management system to an online one. I think they know their job but were too confused. Possibly a phase of transition and they need to get their act together very soon. I finally got my lenses by the way. I would say, I was very patient with them. read more

He's a great communicator, tells you everything he's doing as he works on your eyes, puts all the options on the table, articulates the pros/cons, and is well grounded in practical eye care. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and very willing to give honest opinions based on what fits your face and personal style. I'm not the type of person who writes a lot of reviews, but I figured that I would truly be doing this business and these incredible people a massive wrong if not. I had been here once before (the service was great then also) but I had moved to Tacoma so I looked for an eye doctor closer to my new home; nobody else would see me in less than a month, my eyeglasses were good, the lenses had a bad experience in the sauna, I had a small procedure that changed the vision in one eye... They could see me in 2 days! So I took my bucket of problems all the way to Kirkland and they handled it with "above and beyond" customer service. Dr Kerry and Robin sat down with me to troubleshoot all of my issues. I truly felt that they were not going to be happy unless I left that office happy. We agreed on a temporary fix, Robin personally ground new lenses to fit my current frames, the Dr gave me excellent lunch options in the area. To top it off, this morning I found a personal email from Robin to check in and offer any further assistance! I was having a bout of severe dry eye. I called and they fit me in-even though I had never been there. WOW! Dr. Atkins or "Kerry" went over and above. He gave me advice, found a couple of ingrown eyelashes, and so much information. He was funny and informative. My eye feels SO much better. Eclectic! Wow- this is the coolest, and best value optometrist I've been to. 150 for full eyeglass and contact lens exam (which was fun and interesting), plus a pair of contact lens trials included. Went back for a year supply at the same price as 1-800 contacts and was given two more trial pairs with case and fluid. This place is great. read more

The folks at Eyedentity are an A++ team. Having been told for years that my vision is difficult to correct because I am "hyper-sensitive", I'd come to seriously dread vision appointments. In a moment of frustration over my latest attempt to get glasses that work for me, I searched Yelp reviews for a place that might "get" me. Wow - am I glad I listened. Turns out it's not me! My prescription was "off" the lenses were "off", the fit was "off", and the folks at Eyedentity validated every frustration I'd had with the three pairs of glasses that I brought to my first appointment. Sadly, things have changed at Eyedentity. My family had been going there for about 15 years until this winter when my husband was charged for services never rendered. Our medical insurance was charged for treatment of migraines. While my husband checked the box on the health form, Dr. Atkins never even asked about any sort of headache. I called the office and asked about it, letting them know that we don't have vision coverage through our medical insurance and that it wasn't discussed during the appointment. I was told, "not to worry. We wouldn't be charged if insurance didn't cover it." Well, we were charged about $150 out of our health care spending account which is pretty annoying but even if we weren't charged, I find this highly unethical. They are willing to falsely file a claim with the insurance company to make a few extra dollars. We will never go back. read more

This is the coolest optometrist place I have ever been to (and you know it's a unique place the moment you walk in the door by the fun decor and the music.) The first time I walked in, Robin took one look at my glasses & asked if I'd gotten them there & knew the brand immediately. (I hadn't, I'd gotten them in Prague a few years earlier.) She orders the coolest glasses, knows her styles, knows what looks good on you & does a fabulous job making adjustments. I'm surprised to see other reviews giving the staff only 2 stars. I've had nothing but exemplary service here. I've also never bought more than one pair of glasses before - I walked out with two pairs for my appointment in March and am getting another three pairs immediately in January (because of insurance) and can easily see myself going in for another pair mid-year. My husband finally went in for an appointment and he was thrilled to see the selection there, since he's a bit of a designer-eyeglass addict. (I think I may have just become one, too.) Kerry is also a great optometrist - he's not your usual, stuffy, white-coat optometrist. He did a thorough job, did it quickly, and I even learned a thing or two. This is the kind of place I'd expect to find in Wallingford or Capitol Hill, etc - I am, again really happy to find a little gem like this on the East Side. read more

Horrible experience at this clinic - stay away! Had prescriptions filled here, and was told that the lens/frames would be ready in 4-6 weeks since they had to send them out to a state lab. 6 weeks turned in to 12 weeks, and I still don't have them in hand! Every time I called to get a status update, they didn't seem to know when I would get them, until I recently called to schedule an appointment for another prescription, and thought to get a quick update for my prescription that was ordered 2 months ago - I was told its ready to be picked up, and they scheduled an appointment for the following week! As I was heading to my appointment, I was running late due to traffic, so I gave them a call to let them know I would be late, they were cool with that! A few moments later, they called me back, and told me, "We shipped your glasses to your home address, and you don't have to come to the clinic". Unbelievable!! read more

I was looking for a new pair of motorcycle riding glasses to replace my old scratched up ones. Based upon Online reviews and the fact that they accepted my insurance I chose to use Eyedentity. I had a great experience with the office manager, Robin, when I selected the frames and lens options. I was told that it would take up to 2 weeks for the frames to come in and then an additional 3 weeks for the lenses to be done at the Davis lab, which was the only lab my insurance would pay for. The order was placed on the 14th of May and I expected to hear from Eyedentity by the end of June. When I did not hear anything I called Eyedentity the first week in July. I spoke with Robin who said she would check and get back to me, after not hearing anything for several hours I called again and Robin told me that the supplier had made a mistake. When she had originally placed the order the frames were on backorder and when they were finally in stock again the supplier had failed to fill her order. I was never told by Robin that the frames were on backorder to begin with. The supplier was going to rush the frames out to them and then she would get them to Davis and hopefully they would be done in 3 weeks. Again, I waited and called the office on the 26th of July when I had not heard anything. I spoke to an associate at Eyedentity who told me that the lab had made a mistake on the lenses and was redoing them, they would not be ready for another week or two. I asked to speak to Robin but she was out of the office and would not be in until the next day. I called the next day and spoke to Robin, but there was nothing that could be done to get the glasses finished sooner. Unfortunately, I was leaving for a two week road trip which was one of the reasons why I had ordered the glasses all the way back in May. When I returned from my trip I contacted Eyedentity on August 13 and was told that my glasses were ready, however, the extra foam gasket and retaining strap that had been part of the original order were not reordered after the backorder mistake and would not be delivered for another week. At no point in this whole long ordeal did anyone from Eyedentity ever contact me without me calling them first, not even to tell me my glasses were finally done. If I had not called they would never have realized the frames had not been delivered. The only excuse given was that they are really, really swamped. Robin's idea of inventory control is to place your order in a small tray on the shelf in the back office and hope that it takes care of itself. She stated that about twice a year she goes through those trays to see if anything doesn't belong anymore. Because my insurance paid for almost all of the cost, Eyedentity only wrote off about $40 as compensation for the 3 months it took to finish my glasses and they are going to mail me the gasket and strap when they come in. Robin claimed to be mortified by the poor customer service I had received, however, Eyedentity's performance did not reflect this. I really enjoyed my initial contact with Robin and wish my experience would have continued to be as enjoyable. If you feel like micro managing you optician, calling every few days to check on your order, you might have a better experience. As it stands, I can't recommend Eyedentity. read more

The absolute worst experience I've ever had with buying new eyeglasses. Missed delivery commitments time and time again and had to call regularly to stay on top of my order. The shop is noticeably messy, dusty and unconventional. They promised delivery within 2 to 2-1/2 weeks. After 2 weeks I called them, said they forgot to send them to the lab and would have the order expedited, would be ready in one week. One week later, still not ready. Said it would be 2-3 more days. Called them 4 days later, still not ready. They tell me they'll be ready in a week. Finally called me 9 days later and they were ready for pick up. Total of 5 weeks! To their credit they did discount the glasses significantly for my trouble. read more

This is the unicorn of eye related establishments. Phenomenal customer service (seriously), unique and affordable eyewear, and a knowledgable optometrist on site. If you have United Health Care Vision, this is your best option. For that matter, if you have any or no insurance this is your best option. I came in needing contacts and glasses after moving from Portland and I needed everything in a week before leaving the country for a trip. They HAPPILY delivered the glasses and gave me a bunch of sample contacts to get me through the trip. They do not dilate your eyes, rather they take a picture and, if you are anything like me, this is a huge bonus. The on site staff is helpful, fun, and passionate about the products. Robin, one of the fine ladies there, hand picks all glasses and knows exactly how each frame should fit your face. I can't speak more highly of Eyedentity. Well played folks, well played. read more

Wow. I have been wearing glasses since I was in first grade, and have been in and out of eye doctors and doctor's offices for a majority of my life. I can say with absolute certainty that this was my very favourite optical experience. The first thing I noticed upon calling was just how friendly and patient the receptionist was. I felt immediately comfortable setting up an appointment and upon entry, that feeling never left. The staff is so quirky, fun, knowledgeable, efficient, hilarious, and caring. I love the atmosphere of the office; you are not surrounded by harsh whites or blues and so you feel at ease and awestruck by all of the wonderful colours and trinkets to behold. You can tell that the staff has made the building their home, and a place they want to be. That makes a huge difference as a patient, and I think it impacted the quality of customer service, which was excellent. They really know what they are doing, they really care about what they do, and they make you feel right at home and so cared for. I even totally confused my insurance information and they were incredibly gracious and patient, which I so appreciated. In picking out frames, I got expert fashion advice and insight and felt confident that I was making the best possible decision. I cannot sing their praises enough.
