My daughters and I visited this establishment this past weekend. We met Dr. Larson and staff!! He was so very kind to my daughter. He was patient and advocated in a way that was really meaningful. My daughter wore very thick glasses for over 10 years and failed hard contacts. During our visit, Dr. Larson was able to prescribe soft contacts for my daughter and she is so thrilled! I followed my girlfriend for an eye exam and it was the best eye exam I ever witnessed and I have been wearing glasses for over 20 years. The staff was great and friendly. My friend complained about her eyes being dry with contacts for years. He introduced her to a wetter version of contacts that let's in more moisture. We never even heard about that before. Unfortunately numerous doctors refused to provide my computer prescription in writing in addition to my other two prescriptions. It has cost me a lot of wasted time and money. The place I went to get new lens had to call the eye center in Folsom and inform them that their refusal to do so "because any optometrist can easily calculate it from what we did give you" was ridiculous. Then they and I were told by this eyecenter that they would fax it within 48 hours. They did not, so my husband had to go over there today in person. To ask for it AGAIN. As of now we are still waiting for the to provide it. I have been a customer for over 20 years, and sadly this is not the first time this refusal to write the computer prescription has cost me time and money. However, it will be the last and I should have changed providers years ago. I typically do not write bad reviews, as a matter of fact I usually don't write reviews at all. But the level of inconvenience, the arrogance, and the outright poor customer service was too much for me to ignore. If you have a computer prescription in addition to a reading and/or distance prescription I strongly suggest you go elsewhere. read more

Had to find a new eye center when my Dr. Retired. EYECenter Optometric in Folsom is Great! Modern equipment for exam, all staff very friendly and knowledgeable, competitive pricing, wide selection, they deserve all the 5 stars reviews including mine. Had an issue this week with my frame getting loose. Fixed it once, then it happened again. They determined it now had a defective hinge, and they replaced the whole frame on the spot. I was out of there in 10min, problem solved. I highly recommend this business to anyone needing an eye care center. read more

Honestly I was very excited to come to this place. The inside seemed nice and majority of the reviews were good. I actually had a wonderful first appointment. However, things went downhill after my second appointment when I got a contacts exam. When I went to pay, nobody told me my insurance could cover my exam and instead they only told me about a discount I could get while making me pay out of pocket. I don't know about anyone else but I'd like to go somewhere that I can trust and know they will provide me with all the options when it comes down to my insurance and paying. It wasn't until I got home when I realized I could cover my exam using my insurance allowance. I then called the office asking if I could get a refund and use my allowance instead. They were pretty understanding about it, and I thought it was an easy fix. NOPE. Took them more than a MONTH to get me that refund and I am positive that it would've taken longer had I not frequently called in to check the status of the refund. By the way, each time I called in, I would always get the response "the manager is out but will be back soon" or "the manager is sick", etc. I have no idea why it took them that long to issue a refund .. Then, when I could finally order my contacts, they never confirmed with me the full address and forgot my apartment address on it. Almost could've lost a year's worth of contacts because of them. And I really thought this would be the last of everything but it wasn't. When my contacts arrived, I then received a call back from them saying that I had to pay out of pocket for my contacts because I had used half of my 2021 benefits for the exam and could not use the rest on the contacts, which was absolute garbage because I had confirmed WEEKS ago with my insurance company that I could. Went back and forth with the office on the phone and they did not seem to know what was going on with my situation and they even made me confused. Genuinely the worst experience I've ever had with an eye center and will not be back. read more

They have been unable to get the focus on my glasses correct. I think there is something wrong with the lenses. I have never had glasses that are blurry before. They kept telling me it was because my prescription is so strong. my eyes correct perfectly with contacts and I have had plenty of glasses that work fine before with a very strong prescription. Also my prescription for my contacts didn't change but they ordered my a -.5 less strength contact lenses without me knowing. I tried to handle it on the phone but they were totally unhelpful and said I had to see the dr again. I went with my 2 young children ( 40 min drive round trip loading and unloading the car) and had to wait a hour because I was 10 min late so they took the next appointment after I had already arrived. I only needed 1 minute literally and the appointment they took was a full 45 min appt. I had to run around for an hour and make sure my 1 year old didn't tear the office appart. It was miserable. It was with driving time and waiting a 2 hour ordeal just because they randomly decided to order a lower strength contact even though my prescription was the same. A 30 second chat with the dr cleared it up and they reordered it. This could have very easily been a 2 minute phone call but they wouldn't try to help me on the phone. read more

Dr. Larsen is a superhero!!! He put me into a new pair of contacts that have changed the way I see at work. Being a hygienist and using loupes can be a challenge if you are wearing the wrong contacts and I was one of those people!! While Dr. Tomita did a great job, but no one else there appears to be competent. When I bought my glasses in October 2016 I paid the bill in full. A few days later I received another bill (not for a small amount). When I went back to the office I was told the tech had added incorrectly (apparently basic math skills are not a job requirement). So I paid the bill in full AGAIN. Several months later I received ANOTHER bill. I called and tried to resolve the issue but was told I needed to prove I had paid the earlier bills in full or pay the new bill. So if you want to get bills for the rest of your life--then this is the place for you! 3 trips to pay one bill in full. I expect I will be receiving more bills from them. read more

We had been going there from last December to Dr.Lily. We went in for CRT lenses for my daughter. The Dr doesn't explain you the side effects , she had multiple issues after that. Finally we stopped the hard lens and went for everyday disposables. He wrote the prescription without astigmatism factor which she had for all these years. When we went in again to check, he said he couldn't find any again in five minutes, he said it's back. I really doubted if he was a Dr. Everytime they gave me something, I would make sure my daughter could see correctly with the prescription. He couldn't find the exact prescription for contacts, there were lots of trials and errors and finally we got it somehow in june. Wait times are always longer. We will not be returning. Today I went in for annuals, they charge so much for contact lens fitting. We were just done in June still they wanted to do it again. Always unpleasant experience. Above all, they didn't give me the lens prescription which was active until june 2020.I don't want to be contacted for anything. My trust has gone forever. Don't buy the CRT hard lens and waste your money. read more

The manager is very unprofessional and talks about staff personal issues. Dr Lee is rude to his staff and treats them like dirt. The front desk doesn't seem to know what they are doing and the music makes me want to fall asleep. The only plus are the opticians and doctor assistants. They're great! 2 years ago, I got glasses from them. I have good long distance vision and poor close up vision. I wanted lined bifocals with no prescription in the top and the magnified in the bottom of the lens. They did not get the order right and I had the stupid magnification in the top also and it was hard to see when driving and it messed with my head, but I just lived with it. About 7 or so weeks ago, I ordered glasses again, same exact frames, same request for clear top and magnified, lined bifocal on the bottom of the glass lenses. I iterated my request at least 4 times, telling the person who helped me that they had gotten it wrong last time, and I wanted it right this time. NOPE. Waited the nearly 4 weeks to get them and they were WRONG again. I was extremely irritated. Normally, I will give people the benefit of the doubt that maybe I screwed up, or that I did not make my wishes clear, but this time, I know I had done that to the point of irritation for the person helping me. They assured me they would make it right the second time, and put a rush on it at their cost. Well---- I just picked them up today for the second time this go around, it was not rushed in any way AND it's still wrong. I definitely have a huge magnification in the upper part of my glasses. How incompetent can a place be? I will live with it again...............for 2 more years and go somewhere else where the people can actually do their job right. I feel so cheated. I can be a good sport once, but the second time. How can anyone be so pathetically incompetent?? read more
