I've been coming to Eye Zone annually for 25 years and have experienced nothing but the best of care. I'm disappointed to see some less than favorable reviews. My experiences with both Drs. Kam and Ching have been great. They are both very knowledgeable, professional, kind, and caring. Their opticians are wonderful and so very helpful, as is their entire staff. They have a very nice selection of frames in a variety of price ranges, and a good eye for what shape, size, and color frame works best on your face. I wouldn't go anywhere else! read more

This place was very helpful for me. I had never been to the eye doctor, but they all made me feel right at home and explained everything to me very clearly. Nargis was very helpful as she took photos of my eyes and checked my eye pressure. And Doctor Kam was great at explaining to me what my vision issues were and getting my prescription. I have been a patient of Dr's Kam and Ching for over 15 years. I have always received great service and products. Unfortunately, I recently had a less than satisfactory experience when the Optician ordered the incorrect rx for my back up prescription. These glasses are the back up for use when removing contact lens to ensure eye health. I returned the incorrect rx within a day or two and the optician assured me that they would expedite a replacement. it has been two weeks (as of today) and no lens. I have called their office twice and been told that the lab won't have them ready to ship until February 17th. I an dissatisfied with the lack of urgency the office has in providing me with a most needed rx. It seems that Dr.'s Kam and Ching might want to consider another lab who can respond to urgent situations. read more

Dr. Ching and his staff are amazing. I was welcomed right away, bright and early on a Saturday morning. Their paperwork process is easy and saves time, as you can complete everything prior to your appointment in the comfort of your own home. Long overdue!! I was new to the area and desperately needed an eye doctor because if you are an eyeglasses wearer like myself, you can tell when you need new prescription! Dr. Ching is very down to earth and very nice person -- getting to know his patients and being understanding! As for optician, go to Miss Judy for any kind of help! She is THE BEST! Recently, I had a new prescription and I was effy with my new eyeglasses especially the fact that I cannot close them properly (it won't fit the eyeglass case!) so I came back and ask Miss Judy for help. She was mortified that whoever last helped me allowed me to walk away with the new eyeglasses where I cannot close them at all (I have very thick lenses!) and I appreciate how much she cared about me and my eyeglasses. Dr. Ching has been my optometrist for I think 4 or 5 years now and he's been a cool doctor! I chose this place initially because it was close by to my work and in-network for me and I was pleased with how their office is run. He recommended I get lasik treatment since it seemed after a few eye exams that I could be a candidate (which I thought I wouldn't be eligible for because of astigmatism) and it was probably one of the best things I did, I now see him once a year to make sure I'm still 20/20 Now that my office moved to the west side of Sacramento, I still choose to go to his office since he's very knowledgeable, transparent, and answers all my questions about my eye health! I've been going here for a few years now and I love it here. Easy in and out eye appointments every year. Dr. Ching is awesome and knows what he's doing. All the staff there is great even though it seems like there's new staff every year. The location of this place is close to home and there's plenty of parking. I would suggest not going during rush hour since sunrise is the Main Street and there's usually so much traffic after 4 so book your appointments early or in a Saturday. Prices are reasonable and service is great so I would recommend this place! read more

My experience at this place was great! I am not going to lie I didn't have high hopes going into my appointment! I have VSP and was looking for a VSP provider that was close to my house! Doctor Lori D Kam And Stephen K Ching came up in the results and they were the only ones that had a good review on yelp! So I decided to give them a chance and called to schedule my eye exam! They were able to fit me in the following week. They are open until 7:30pm on Tuesdays as well at one Saturday a month which is nice so that I don't have to miss work for an appointment! When you arrive to the location you don't think it looks like much from the outside, but once you go in it is very cute and clean! As I walked in I was greeted and instructed to fill out some new patient paperwork. After that I went back and had my eye exam with Dr. Stephen Ching. He was so nice and personable! I have never had a doctor be so friendly and get to know me so well in such a short amount of time; especially on my first visit! I also got to know a lot about him and his family! He is a great guy! I didn't feel rushed at all and he really took the time to find out about my vision needs and any concerns I had! After my exam I decided to go ahead and order new glasses! Now I loathe picking out new glasses! Judy was the one that helped me find the perfect match! She spent over an hour helping me find something that made me happy! I felt bad because I must have tried on easily 30 different pairs. But kudos to Judy for not making me feel like I was being a pain! As I continued to try on different pairs of classes I had finally narrowed it down to two pairs and I couldn't decide! Two of the other staff were so nice and took the time to offer their opinion on which one they thought looked best on me! It felt really genuine in there, not like they were just trying to sell me some glasses. They didn't push any products on me or try to get me to pay for something outside of my comfort zone which was nice! Also Judy was able to educate me about the VSP Premier Vision Plan Benefits! Thankfully I didn't miss open enrollment at my work and I was able to sign up for 2014! Because I was able to sign up for the Premier Vision Plan I plan to go back in January 2014 and get that second pair of glasses that I had wanted for free!!! This is a review for the office employees. I've been coming here for years and have always had a great experiences. However, this last time the office employees were extremely incompetent. The staff has changed from my previous visits and they do not know what they are doing. Dr. Ching is really patient and answers all questions. I hate to leave a negative review as I enjoy being his patient but the staff has angered both my brother and I. First, during the appointment they were slow and messed up on my pressure read several times. Having puffs of air blown into my eyes 3 times each is not fun. Also, they had me fill out this long patient portal thing, then never told me anything about it afterwards. During the visit, there was one staff member who was very unprofessional and slightly rude the whole time. Second, my brother called the office to ask if his contacts had arrived and the staff said no without even checking. When my mom called them 5 minutes later, she demanded they actually check. Lo and behold, yes they were actually in. They just hadn't bothered to check. Third, I was only in town for a few weeks and was told that I would be called when my trial contact lenses came in. My brother went in to pick up his contacts/ask if my trial lenses were in. The staff says no. Now one month later, I am no longer in town. I called back asking for my lenses and Rx so my brother can pick it up before he leaves town for college as well. They tell me they arrived about a month ago (about when my brother had gone in to get his contact lens!) Which means they didn't bother to check AGAIN. They tell me that they called me and left a message on my phone about the lenses. I check my phone history. No voicemails from Eyezone. I am really upset about this whole experience. The staff has a pattern of laziness and unprofessionalism. Dr. Ching is really thorough and I have enjoyed being his patient, but sadly I will not be going back to this establishment again. read more

This is a great optometry practice! The staff is super friendly. They do great work and my glasses from here have been more precise than any of my others. They even remembered me after I came back for new glasses after a year! Dr. Ching did my contact lens fitting. I liked how he takes his time and answered all my questions. He's very knowledgeable. In general , everyone goes out of their way here to give really good customer service. I found them originally because they were the only place where I could get my favorite Jimmy Choo frames :) Now I drive 30 minutes each way to go here! read more

I finally enrolled in FEP Bluevision and figured I'd find my primary optometrist. I noticed Eye Zone Optometry had pretty good reviews and decided to check it out! Dr. Ching takes his time with your consultation and never makes you feel rushed. He has optimal staff if not too many and they are all willing to help you/give their opinion if you can't figure out which pair of glasses that you want. He was very thorough and was able to give me a recommendations for Vision Corrective surgery =) Overall pleased. His location not too good, some homeless people were hanging around outside. He makes up for it with excellent customer service! On a side note I'd recommend not too strong of an opinion for the floor staff because if I narrowed it down to three obviously I like something about each of them! My family have been patients at Eye Zone for about 5 years now. The entire staff go above and beyond at every appointment and interaction. A couple examples: my son broke his glasses one week before the warranty was up. They not only replaced them in less than a week, but provided him with loaners with his Rx in the meantime- for FREE. Another time, I ordered frames and instantly regretted my choice....they even let me take a couple pair home to try them out before making a final decision on the replacement, then they exchanged them at no extra charge! They are kind, prompt, and have the best customer service I have ever encountered. They CARE. read more

Everyone here is super friendly and I always have pleasant experiences. Both optometrists are so eager to know your lifestyle. But I guess that has a great impact on how you use your eyes. But even on my first visit we were chatting as if I had been a long time patient. So I felt really comfortable. There is a discrepancy on their hours. Their website says open until 6pm on Monday, but their window sign says 5:30pm. Luckily when I arrived at 5:50pm to pickup my glasses, the opticians were still there and opened up for me. The waiting area isn't really a waiting area... more of the entry walkway with a couple chairs. But you're usually not waiting long anyway. A great office! read more

I found at least 3 frames I would have been happy with. ( I ended up getting Anne Kleins.) We saw Dr. Ching. He was very thorough and explained in great detail what he was doing, which I like. The staff here is absolutely fabulous. I have been coming here for over two years and am always satisfied with my experiences. When I come in for a yearly contact lens exam, dr chin always sends me home with an ample supply of trials to make sure that the prescription is the right one for me. This year he gave me two different prescriptions to try out in trials but recommended the ones that weren't as strong. I ended up choosing the stronger ones and ordered a years supply. Right before I was supposed to pick them up I came to the realization that I had been squinting and straining with the stronger lenses. (DOH! My bad.) I called and they said it was no problem and they'd return the boxes and order the other ones for me. I was super appreciative that it was hassle free and that they didn't seem to mind. They really want you to be happy, and I think that makes all the difference. If you aren't a contact lens kind of person, they also have a great selection of glasses to choose from too. read more

I am BEYOND impressed with this office. I saw Dr. Ching and he was so thorough in my exam and explained everything to me and answered every question that I had. Then there was Ralph, the optician. He was very helpful in helping me find glasses in my budget and in choosing any options that I needed. He never seemed bothered, even when I called a few days after my appointment to change some things on my order (I did feel bad about it, though). The office itself was spic & span, and I even mentioned to the boyfriend that there wasn't a bit of dust on any of the display cases. (How often do you see that?!) The receptionist was very nice, even on the phone when I've called. They have a great selection of glasses and were even happy to order me something that I'd seen online that they didn't have there. No thanks. I went to this Eye Doctor for the last 2 years but I guess since I came back the second year they though they could take advantage of me. They seem nicest don't let them fool you. I went in for a contact prescription, they fitted me, I expressed my concerns about the contacts not feeling great, they told me to try them on for a few days and let them know. I paid my bill and went on my way knowing that the contacts were not prefect but deferred to their advice about my eyes getting use to a different lens and a different prescription. I did all that, and after a few days decided that this fitting was not gonna work. I had to schedule a new appointment 2 weeks down the road and when I finally got back in the have the prescription refitted, they do so but charge me for the refitting. So, to reiterate, I voiced my concerns about the fitting of the contact lenses, they heeded my words and sent me away on a trial basis, then make me pay again for the fitting they messed up in the first place. DON'T GO TO THESE EYE DOCTORS. They are scamming people out of their money. There is no way you should have to pay for a fitting a second time when the eye doctor is at fault for the first fitting being wrong. read more

Dr. Ching has also been the only optometrist in the area who has been able to see me on short notice for various issues with my eyes.
