I am not a patient at Hoffman Optometry. My review is based on their kindness and compassion shown to a stranger and non patient of theirs. My small dog dug out of my backyard and dangerously travelled over a mile, across intersections, through a field, and found his way into Hoffman Optometry. The doctor called me while I was at work and asked me if I was missing a dog. Any pet owner's worst nightmare. Dr. Hoffman kept my dog safe, gave him water and a dog bed until I could get back into town to pick him up. I will never forget their kindness and I will always be grateful to them for reuniting me with my beloved dog. read more

We got referred to Hoffman optometry when my daughter was experiencing a really red inflamed eye. They were wonderful had me come in to check on her eye multiple times to make sure the medicine was working. Listened to our story and were just very knowledgeable and kind! read more

Dr. Steven Hoffman was incredible during my 1-year-old son's first ever eye exam. Although my son continuously moved around and was likely very hard to examine; Dr. Hoffman was patient, kind, and thorough, making my son feel comfortable throughout the visit. After diagnosing him with double astigmatism, Dr. Hoffman explained everything clearly in a way I could easily comprehend and provided us with options for the best path forward for my son. We ended up deciding to order glasses to ensure our son's vision develops as healthily as possible. The office staff were very attentive and approachable as well, and helped me to understand my insurance through VSP. Dr. Steven Hoffman's expertise coupled with the passion he brings to his work made the entire experience great. Highly recommend him for both adult and pediatric eye care! read more

Hoffman Optometry - My son's new glasses from Hoffman Optometry! - Optometrists Near Me - Folsom, California

I started coming to Dr. Steven Hoffman's office last year and I couldn't be happier with them! Friendly staff and super nice doctors all around. Dr. Hoffman is very thorough and patient. I know my eyes are being taken care of, AND a plus is that it's down the street from my work office! read more

I've ordered glasses and contacts from Hoffman Optometry. I saw different doctors for each both very kind and thorough and explaining and answering any questions I had the front office. Staff is very kind and accommodating. read more

I went here and Dr Lauren Anderson did my eye exam. Dr Anderson just gave me 3 options to see which lens are better for me then she would give me another 3 options. This is the first eye exam that I was not confused with the lenses are look the same to me. Dr Anderson made the appointment easy and she answered all my questions. For the past 20 years of going to see the optometrist I feel Dr Anderson is the best optometrist I have and I will continue to see Dr Anderson from now on. If you are looking for an optometrist come in and see Dr Anderson, she is nice pleasant and give you the best eye exam. read more

Doctors, staff, and my eye exam are an A+ five stars! Totally returning back to them for my next exam. Getting glasses filled: 0 stars. The staff and doctor at this facility are very nice people and I always feel welcomed walking in. My eye exam went flawlessly. My lenses on the other hand... Pair 1 (computer lenses): The lab they used sent my glasses to the wrong store TWO times, so it took SIX weeks to get my glasses. So for those 6 weeks I was using out-of-date progressive lenses for my daily computer work. I was happy to wait 2 weeks, but after week 4 I had difficulty focusing my eyes and had headaches. Pair 2 (progressive lenses): When I first got these a few weeks back, the lab had filled the order incorrectly. So back to the lab go my glasses. Today, I tried them on, and the left lens was wrong. So back to the lab my glasses go, again. At this point I don't expect my glasses to be correct when they return in 2 weeks, and I'm really disappointed. I totally recommend this place for eye exams, but the fact their lab screwed up 3x (so far) filling 2 pairs of glasses will keep me from using them again read more

Office help was exceptional. The doctor was informative and very helpful. I love this place.

I just left the office of Dr. Robert Hoffman. I was referred by my friends and coworkers. I had a really great experience. I had a very thorough eye exam. Dr. Hoffman spent a good amount of time with me and I did not feel rushed in anyway. I was explained all the options and was eventually fitted for glasses. The staff all seem happy to be there and I had an excellent experience. Highly recommend. read more

Dr. Hoffman treats our whole family (3 out of 4 of us need corrective lenses). While I had always been pleased with the service my husband and I have received, the practice really earned their five-star review with the way the cared for my 4-year-old daughter. We noticed an issue and brought it to the attention of a friend who is an eye doctor in another country, she encouraged us to call our eye Dr and get her seen. Dr. Hoffman's staff worked hard to squeeze us in quickly. She was nervous because she didn't know what to expect but Dr. Hoffman made the experience a fun one for her while still providing me with all the information I needed. He had her back a week later to dilate her eyes and confirm her prescription. His staff has worked with us weekly to get her glasses fitting just right and they always treat her like a queen. Dr. Hoffman even checked the prescription of a pair I bought for her in a different location just to make sure it was exactly right. We have been so pleased with our care and he has a big fan in our 4-year-old. read more

Unassuming, patient, compassionate, caring, and respectful. This is how I would describe Dr. Hoffman. He performed my routine eye exam in a very thorough manner, listened to my concerns patiently, and answered my questions in detail. I left his office feeling blessed to have been seen by a gifted doctor who is a humble and remarkable human being. read more

I had a horrible experience at this doctor's office. I went in for a routine eye exam and to pick out some new glasses. I saw Dr. Inouye for this visit. I got there right on time and waited for the doctor patiently. As I was waiting, I saw Dr. Inouye the side room gossiping with a coworker. I waited while she took another patient back and filled out my paper work. I waited... and waited... and waited... Finally, it was my turn. The whole procedure was about 5 mins and I was really concerned with her lack of attention to detail. When we were through, the doctor said, "Do you need glasses today?" Honestly, why else would I be there? I said yes, and she said "Here they are" and points. I could barely see as I was trying pick new glasses out. I was waiting for someone to come help me pick out a pair but they never came. Instead, they sat behind the desks (about 5 young women) and gossiped some more. I was truly disappointed with this experience and this doctor! How unprofessional! Also, they most prestigious brand they had of glasses was Revlon... read more

I've been wearing contacts and eye glasses all my life. I've typically gone the Lenscrafters route but have had several experiences with Doctor's offices. Usually, I find the experience cold and uninviting. Not so in this case. The staff at Bob Hoffman's office (he's a cool doc) couldn't be more friendly. They're outgoing and accommodating. Not only was my service terrific but the exam was thorough. i got good, solid advice in a straight, no b.s manner. I got a phone call two days later saying m new glasses and contacts had arrived. Several days later they followed up and asked how everything was going. Excellent! Doctor's offices seen plagued these days by long waits, too many patients, short abbreviated patient visits...this is the spot if you need your only two eyes cared for... read more

I like this office. The staff is friendly and attentive and the doctors are professional, courteous, and personable. The office is in a Raley's shopping center, so there's no problem with parking. I've been going to this office for the last several years and I've never had a bad experience. There are times they are about 5-10 minutes behind, but I have yet to see any optometrist, doctor, or dentist office that is on time 100% of the time. If they are, they're not attending to some of the questions the patients inevitably have that put them behind schedule. For a private office, they have a decent selection of glasses, but not like Lens Crafters or the big shops you see at the mall. Their selection, however, is not bad. They have entry level stuff and I've thumbed though Gucci, Tommy Bahama, Ray Ban, and other "higher" end brands that I wish my insurance would cover. After my contact lens fit, they let me have a "sample" contact lens set without charging me, so I could decide if I liked the brand and fit. This is a friendly "small" office that could certainly give other offices some lessons on how to treat their patients. read more

We have been going to dr Hoffman for many years. He's a great eye doctor along with having a fabulous staff.

I wanted to share a great experience. I switched optometrist and I have to say Dr. Hoffman really takes care of his clients. From start to finish he and his staff were professional and kind. No rushing, taking the time to answer all my questions. I really appreciate what they do. read more

Dr. Hoffman is the BEST! The staff are very helpful and efficient. Been seeing him for about 5-6 years now, and still see him even after moving all the way across town to Woodland. Long time patients. Excellently practice! Wonderful service, great staff and INCREDIBLY BRILLIANT DOCTORS! We love them!

Dr. Hoffman and his staff provide outstanding service. My wife and I both had issues with David Vision last year and Dave was invaluable in getting things resolved. He worked tirelessly, made countless phone calls, escalated issues and kept us informed the entire way. The staff is very friendly and eager to help, always with a smile and a positive attitude. Dr. Hoffman has a great personality, explains things in a way the patient can easily understand and has always provided the both of us with excellent service. We couldn't be happier with this office, it's location and staff, and the wonderful service we receive. We would highly recommend them for all your eye care needs. read more

I made an appointment weeks ago, all was good. I received a text on my phone with a link to click and fill out paperwork. Before clicking on the link in my cell phone, I called the office just to be sure this was a valid text. The lady who answered the phone answered normally but after that she was almost mocking my questions with her tone. It didn't feel right. Almost disrespectful in nature. After the call I returned to work but my gut didn't feel right. I know how to talk professionally during phone calls and when I feel like something is off, I should take notice. This would have been my first appt. here, but I had a weird feeling, if It doesn't feel right with the front desk person, chances are it's not a good fit. I called back to cancel. The 2nd call was equally strange, different lady. She asked me why I was cancelling, I told her nicely, with the last lady I spoke to it didn't feel right, she was almost mocking me on the phone. The current lady, said "Ok" like shoulder shrug. Not apologizing, no suggestion of possible misunderstanding. So weird. I made the right choice. If I can't have a civil convo with the front desk lady, then I'm not going to try to be a patient. read more

Dr.Hoffman is an amazing eye doctor. He is very thorough, and personable! I would highly recommend him.

We love Dr. Lianne Inouye. We were greeted with kindness and much professionalism! My daughter took the class for being a first time contact user and with that one class she is now a pro! Thank you for being so helpful with her newfound freedom of wearing contact lenses!!! read more

I have been seeing Dr. Hoffman for years and really like him. Friendly and professional, and good technique. I rarely have to wait more than a couple of minutes for my appointment. Despite reviews here, I have always had good experiences with the office staff. I just went last week and was treated with the utmost respect (so possibly the offending person has left). I have in the past, and will continue to recommend Dr. Hoffman to friends and family. read more

Recently, I had my right eye removed surgically due to complications. It became paramount, for obvious reasons, to ensure the contact lens I wore in the other was properly evaluated for a perfect and healthy fit. In this challenging time of Coronavirus, Dr. Hoffman made every effort to address my medical needs while taking every precaution to ensure our mutual safety. He left no doubt that my care was his priority. He, along with his wonderful staff, have been wonderful in helping me in my preparation for life with one good eye. I always feel at home when coming to see Dr. Hoffman. The staff is super nice and I never wait long before I see the doctor. It's great because the appointments don't take up my whole day and they work hard to make your appointment smooth. I had to pick out new glasses on my last visit and they had a huge selection of frames to choose from which is hard for me but they helped me with style that compliment my face shape. They are a great office and I have never had a bad experience at all. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

I am a Kaiser patient, but have VSP for eyeglass and contact lens coverage. I finally decided to get fitted through someone else, because the rates at Kaiser are ridiculous! I found Dr. Hoffman through a friend and have had a terrific experience so far. The wait is never long, the insurance information is thorough and correct and the staff is extremely friendly. Both Dr. Hoffman and Dr. Inouye are nice, and very informative. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a new eye doctor! read more

I saw Dr. Hoffman. I had concerns about certain issue with my eye. When I brought it up, he pretty much brushed the issue a side. I felt as though he didn't seem to want to put any effort into the exam then required. Also the pair of prescription sunglasses I purchased which were brand name was poorly made. The tint on the glasses were pealing of after a year. read more

Moved to Sacramento from San Diego recently and I was looking for a new eye care place and I will keep looking. Didn't catch the woman's name but she was the reason for loosing my business. She was demeaning and b*tchy the whole time. (Even though I remained polite) I had questions and she just kept saying you'll have to ask the doctor And im like ok so wheres this doctor but she wouldn't even let me ask him a simple question without paying. His time is that valuable? I can't even meet the doctor or ask a question before my scheduled app. I ended up just leaving. If your in San Diego go to Werner optometry their who I was with before moving and I wish I could have taken them with me. There's no topping them so far. read more

While the office is nice and the front desk staff was friendly I didn't particularly care for Dr. Skinner. He asked me several questions whose answers could be found in the paperwork I had just filled out (that he had right in front of him). He didn't explain the change in my contact lens prescription. Nor did he tell me that the lenses he gave me to wear were bi-weekly rather than monthlies. I could have very easily ended up wearing them for a month and gotten an infection in my eyes. This was my first visit to this office and I can't say that I'm likely to return based on his inability to be thorough. read more

Our family has been going to Dr. Hoffman for 20 years. We have always received the best care and service.

I recently saw Dr. Hoffman for the 2nd time. Last year, after being told, by a nearby optometrist, it was MY problem for not being able to see out of my new glasses, a friend highly recommended Dr. Hoffman. Making an appointment was easy, his office staff is helpful and friendly. Dr. Hoffman was right on time for my apt. He immediately knew what the problem was with my new glasses (it wasn't me!). Dr. Hoffman is professional, thorough, friendly and caring. With his help, I am able to see 20/20 again. I highly recommend Dr. Hoffman to others! read more

I've been going to Dr. Hoffman since 1997. Aside from his great sense of humor and very polite professionalism, he is extremely thorough and always punctual with his appointments. His staff is very accommodating (e.g. Rachel) and answers the phones on one ring. I even asked Rachel to check on my new EyeMed insurance coverage and she did on the phone quickly and painlessly. It's a patient friendly office! Most definitely 5 stars! Barry D. read more

Friendly, great staff, wonderful office, easy appointments, and quick, courteous service. Would definitely recommend and return

My experience was very good. Probably the best I have had with an eye doctor in years. I see reviews that mention a lack of customer service regarding eyewear selection. I received the help I needed and honestly it is the time and the experience with Hoffman that I really cared about. He was very knowledgeable and experienced in my eye issues and helped me figure out the best solution. read more
