I don't think I've ever come a chaotic shop before! My fiancé needed a new glasses prescription and our current optometry was close so we decided to chance it and come here since we had time and they had a slot available. Oh man, coming inside it was packed but it was so unorganized it made me feel anxious just by walking in! There's no reception area so there really wasn't a spot for you to come in and check in for your appointment. We had to stand around and hope we caught someone's eye to help us. While we were waiting the staff were arguing about a customer's order loudly in front of everyone! We all watched while they gas lit each other on who had the order or didn't have the order. That was crazy but good entertainment LOOL but that alone made me want to walk out but he wanted us to give them the benefit of the doubt. Once we finally got someone's attention he filled out his paperwork and again, had to wait for someone to get his paperwork and tell him what to do next. We waited for 15mins and finally we had to ask a staff walking by that we had an appointment and needed help! She told the other staff to take him and get his pre-appointment stuff started (checking eye pressure and all that jazz) We went to the other side of the store and I waited for him in the waiting room and you can see everything that was going on. The lady looked so lost on doing the whole thing and the thing that blows air into your eye? He got like shot a few times that his eyes got so dry and tired afterwards. Turns out we couldn't continue with our appointment because our insurance was on hold with another dr and we rescheduled to come back during the weekend. FYI - we did not, we just went to our usual optometry and were much happier there. Do your due diligence before coming here! I've been coming to this location for fairly a decade. I always have a lovely experience-- my mother and I, both enjoy our conversations with the members of this optometry store. They have the snazziest glasses and design sun glasses! I love every one of my shades; it's the most trending designs as well. Today, I brought in two glasses, that I love! One of them is kind of new, so I had to return back to adjust the screws on one of the bolts, on the nose pad. The associate, Emily, assisted me today. It is a bit busy for the day on a weekday. She was able to accommodate me, and translate very beautifully. There is never a dull moment at every visitation. The people here are great at what they do. I would give a shout-out to Annie being amazing at knowing what eye frames work best for me and knowing the current fashions. As one who has been here since I was a kid, she remembers me well and even noticing things I don't really think about when choosing glasses like the fact I don't really wear make-up and choosing glasses with colors to complement my lifestyle. She also considers nose and face structure and my likelihood of breaking my glasses when choosing as well. With the many pairs I've had over the years, I've liked every single one and definitely would have far more trouble picking if I were to do it or to choose a more boring option. I came in for my 4:50pm appointment and I stood around waiting to be helped until 5:10. They were all chatting and I wanted to see if they would help me without me interrupting. I eventually did interrupt them since 20 minutes of standing around was getting ridiculous. I saw a young man who did a pretest and he forgot to tell me I couldn't have my contacts in. I didn't know I couldn't have them in so probably both of our faults. Then I had to do the pretest again. Right when it was 5:30pm, he told me it was going to be an hour wait for the doctor. At that point, I was pretty upset that I had to wait even more despite having a appointment. I thought I was going to be seen give it take 20 minutes from my appointment. Isn't that what an appointment is for? Given my experience, if I had the time to kill, I would go here again. If I'm in a rush and I want a optometrist to respect my time, I would skip this place. I didn't get seen until 6:30 which was almost 2 hours from my appointment at 4:50pm. Service wise, I don't think try provide the best service due to crazy wait times. I would say I noticed that people who spoke Chinese were treated better than me who really only spoke English. read more

I have not been to Eye on Design Optometry in a long time, but I have to report not much has changed over the years. There are typically long wait times even if you have an appointment. However, I would recommend that you make an appointment regardless, or else you'd be waiting a while to be serviced without one. So make sure to do your due diligence in scheduling! This time I went, I made sure to make an appointment and waited roughly 10 minutes to be seen by an optometrist. While I was interested in getting a particular service done, I was told about the benefits and risks that may happen if I were to go along with the treatment. For that, I'm appreciative of what I learned and what I can do moving forward if I choose to attempt the treatment in the future. While I had to wait for someone to notice me to complete my service for today's visit, they were quick to acknowledge my impatience and assured me they would be with me soon. When it came time to choose my frames, Lily gave me specific styles that would suit my face shape best, and I have to say she knows what her clients want! read more

As a federal officer, I have been a client of Eye on Design for over 10 years. They offer the best service and the best price in the Los Angeles area. I've seen numerous negative reviews here. I want to tell you guys. Do not argue with the salesperson if you have any problem; talk to their manager, and she will solve it for you. We are Chinese; we understand how to negotiate with our people. Don't argue with someone who can not solve the problem. I got new glasses this year, but I was not satisfied with the price. Truly one of those places that make you wonder how they stay in business... Long story short, a simple order, that should have taken around 2 weeks, took months to arrive. Even worse, when you call for an update...you're greeted with a lot of attitude, like they're doing us a favor by answering the call. It's so obvious someone messed up the order, which happens....but to not acknowledge or apologize for the wait is just poor form and business. Date: 3/1/2024 Service ( product) requested : photochromic lenses. I was referred by Costco to go to this place for photochromic lenses for my existing frame. ( Costco does not custom make these glasses unless the frames are purchased over there) This optometrist do charge a very reasonable price. I was given 3 options / prices over the phone and I went for the second level which cost $98. The cheapest one was $68 and the most expensive one was about $200 ( can't remember the exact $$). The regular optometrist that I've always go to quoted me $184 just for the basic lenses. Their service was excellent. I got my glasses the next day after calling to place the order. They cut the lenses on spot. Just had to wait about 20 minutes which was really nothing. The lenses came out and worked really well. No complains. I would highly record this place to all. read more

Had an appointment but after filling out paperwork and completing the pre exam tests I was told the doctor was going to lunch and that I had to wait an additional 30 minutes. Mind you it was already 20 minutes past my scheduled appointment. What's the point of scheduling appointments when you make patients sit around waiting. It was super easy to make an appointment. They were able to squeeze me in the same week and give me a late slot because I don't get off work until 5pm. I had to wait a bit to get seen but overall it was a quick trip. I was also on my last pair or contacts so they were kind enough to give me an extra pair to hold me over until my order was ready for pick up. The Dr. was kind and helpful. Thanks to a wonderful reference, I found and have been coming here for the last 6 years for my last 4 or 5 frames and about 4 eye exams. I cannot stress how convenient, pleasant and professional my experiences have been since day one. My help has varied every time in terms of actually who was taking care of me, but everybody involved in my process and those I could visibly see around me helping others, have always been so kind and attentive, even during the one visit where I walked in without an appointment and it was obviously busy. Obviously, it will help to make an appointment and get there early, as they are going to factor everything to keep their daily logistical routine maximized efficiently. For the examination portion, every optometrist I've encountered has made it into such a pleasant, thoughtful, caring and unrushed experience, putting any fears to ease, answering the silliest of naïve question, and bringing up any concern they see that potentially could be a heath issue. As for the frames, options and selection process, the numerous workers that I've dealt with have also all been their own version of the unsung, bend-over-backwards hero that also deserve special mention. They will scour the entire store after hearing and seeing what you prefer, not only stopping there once you find frames you like, but checking the back supply. I've changed my mind so many times, only because they keep finding better pairs after long searches! I was flabbergasted by my visit yesterday, as my routinely super high index prescription usually takes a special order plug that takes a week or so to turnaround for all of my glasses in the past, anywhere including here. But for whatever magically amazing reason, they were able to get both my new glasses done within a few hours. They are obviously keeping up with technology and demand, which translates to quicker throughput and happier customers. I must also mention, I have been coming here using zero insurance, and I am always getting presented such great bundled deals with the eye exams and my frames and various lens options which has included tints, transitions, uv/blue light coatings, etc. I'm always coming out knowing I got such an honest bang-for-buck value, every time. Lastly, the most important part of this review for me is aftercare and follow up. Some places will treat you like dirt if it's obvious you're not coming in for a sale of any sort. Months after a prior fitting, I had an accident that was completely my misuse, breaking the one-piece nose attachment not only once, but twice, using up my spares that came with the frame. Not only did they take time out of their busy day to help me after just walking in asking for my options. I was given a set of replacements, and when I pulled out my wallet, happy to pay for what was a costly, long shipping option via amazon on my prior research, I was told there would be no charge. I really like the staff here. The cost is also very reasonable. The issue is that I had to wait over 40 minutes from my appointment time. The optometrist was very helpful though and went above and beyond in answering my questions. I only needed a prescription written so for the cost it was worth it. I've been coming here for years and years - Annie has been taking care of me for as long as I can remember (literally since I was shorter than the counters, and now I'm 6'5). They have a huge and wide selection of the best styles and great prices. The rest of the staff are always a pleasure to deal with. You must ALWAYS make an appointment though, because this place gets PACKED! Tons of business and people, especially on the weekends. Location is extremely convenient (located next to Ranch 99 Plaza where there are also a ton of great food and drink options) and parking is never an issue. Very friendly and helpful staff! The store's covid precautions make me feel safe because they take your temperature at the door and register all the visitors. I came on a Tuesday and had to wait a bit to see the doctor for a follow up. It's understandable and the staff are helpful and courteous. The only complaint is that since I had to wait, it was really hot and stuffy in the shop. I felt bad for the staff since they have to be in here seeing so many customers while it's super hot and stuffy in here. The store can get busy with lots of visitors so I hope they can upgrade their HVAC and provide a more comfortable environment for their staff and customers! read more

This place is going down hill fast. I walked in without appointment to get a pair of glasses. They told me 1 hour at the end turned into 3 hours because they kept cutting people in front of me. I was mad when I realized this was happening, but no one cares. I complained to the doctor in the office when she came out to pick the next patient file, she said she only pick the files in order, they have appointments, and she hasn't eaten lunch then quickly returned to the office. I told a worker that they should've let me know that everyone had appointments will cutting in front of me so I can make an informed decision to stay or not at the beginning and not have to investigate this myself 2 hours in. She shrug her shoulders. I'll be looking for a new place next year!! Been coming here the past two years now for my eye exams. While the optometrists are pretty rough around the edges, I have to say the staff helping at the front desk with insurance details and glasses selection are great and make the experience much more pleasant. Nancy is the one that helps me out with pre-exam tests, collecting contact / insurance information, and selecting glasses. Very helpful from start to end and would definitely recommend. I will say that parking can be hard to come by when it's busy, but they do have quite the selection of glasses and sunglasses that never disappoints which keeps me coming back. Great service and they got everything done FAST!! I had an appointment today at 4:50 for a glasses and contact lens exam. Exam probably took 30 minutes but the best part was I was able to pick up my new prescription glasses in under 1 hour!!! Appointment at 4:50, picked up gasses by 6:30. My time is valuable so I appreciated the quick service. Oh and not to mention the prices here are very affordable compared to other places in the 626 area. Ask for Lele! She is extremely helpful and really takes the time to help you. The store can get quite busy at times but Lele will still help you without making you feel rushed. The store takes your temperature before you go in and you can see workers constantly wiping down the counters. The only negative about the store is the ac. They need to turn on their ac or add another one in since the office gets really hot and stuffy. read more

I have no complaints whatsoever. The staff, especially Katie, was extremely helpful when it came to figuring out my insurance issues. She really went out of her way to help me and to make sure that I got the best deal that my policy allowed. Now, I normally hate going to the optometrist for my check ups and prescriptions, but everyone ranging from the front to the doctor made it an easy, smooth process. Shoutout to Dr. Jennifer Tran who made sure that I was comfortable throughout the whole checkup and was very accommodating to my questions and needs. She is so knowledgeable and bubbly-- it's comforting! She also made sure that I was comfortable with the different types of contacts by giving me trial pairs before committing to buying a particular one, which I am so grateful for.
