A few weeks ago I had my hair cut and colored at a beauty school in Phoenix, AZ (first and last time I'll ever do that) and I ended up looking and feeling terrible after the weird brown color set in! (I came in to have my roots touched up, and my blonde highlights refreshed a bit) Not to mention the uneven cut she gave me.. (I have curly hair, she gave me short(ish) bangs that were completely out of control. It looked a mess!) I ended up in Toledo, OH for work soon after my beauty school hair disaster, and I feverishly began looking for help! I called Untamed and was given an appointment for the same evening with Alicia. She couldn't have been a better stylist! She listened to all of my needs and she was such a sweetheart! She took the muddy brown color I was left with, and made it the perfect shade of blonde- exactly what I wanted! She also cleaned up my crazy cut! Throughout the entire appointment she made great conversation, and the overall vibe at the salon is so relaxed! I live 4 hours from Untamed, and it would definitely be worth it to make the drive back to have Alicia do my hair again! I left Untamed feeling confident and beautiful, which is exactly how every woman should feel after going to the salon!

I found this place because I saw a review that said someone travelled 4 hours to go here because Alicia did such a great job. I called & they said they had a hypo-allergenic hair color for me. I made the appointment & showed up on time with my mask etc. Alicia seemed super nice and the hair color did not burn my head. I liked the color and it turned out great except the roots were lighter than rest of my hair. My hair was super long and was giving me a head ache. I asked if she was really good with long,, thick & wavy hair. She said yes and I allowed her to cut it. It sadly was very chopped in the back. I was very sad. I did go back a 2nd time for root touch up though because I needed it & MI was just opening. When I asked her to blow dry the back with a little flip, she said something like "Nope not doing that!" I just said nothing and left. But that first visit, I should've known that something was wrong when she didn't want me to see the back of my hair until she curled it . She offered to curl it for free. I'm pretty sure it's because she was trying to hide the 2- layers that were cut without any blending. I finally went back to my regular salon & they had to cut more in order to fix it. So you can decide if you want to go here or not?

I read some reviews and called Metro Salon hoping there was an opening- and Jody picked up and found time for me the next day! I don't write a lot of reviews--- but my experience was SO GOOD I can't help myself. Jody is a true expert. She asked a bunch of questions to get to know my hair type and what I like, then dove right in. Gave me an incredible fresh blunt cut (exactly what I wanted!) without cutting off too much length- then gave me gorgeous natural highlights at the exact tone I was looking for. Seriously, I have been getting the same combo for 20 years (trim and partial highlight) and this might be the best one yet. And I am so happy that we have one around here within walking distance now. I've seen her between 4-5 times over the last year and I have never been happier with my hair. She's fantastic at haircuts and really makes sure that she understands your vision before she gets to work. She is friendly, easy to talk to, and just real. Sometimes the women I've seen at other salons can be a bit fake or flaky, but not Ashley. She also knows her stuff. Over the years she has taught me a lot about skincare. At each visit she takes her time to do it right - carefully waxing, tweezing, and everything else. Some staff at other places I've visited can be lazy or careless, but never Ashley. Also her prices are AMAZINGLY LOW.
