I've been a customer for about 5 years now, and can say it's been consistently great and friendly service. I've actually moved about 45 minutes away a couple years ago, but still think it's worth coming back. Dr. Hsieh is always up for answering any questions as well as explaining anything he's doing, and it's great that he has this deep eye scanning machine for finding any abnormalities that a normal exam can't discover (though for an extra cost, but hey our eyes are important so I do it every time). The staff have all been friendly, and go over every piece of the billing/insurance process, and help to improve fit. I really appreciate hearing about what glasses types are better for long term use and re-usability, so I've been able to cut down on my last appointment's bill by a large chunk. And lastly, the glasses selection is good amount. Probably something for most. read more

What an incredibly caring team! The staff are professional, attentive and know their stuff. I had not had an eye exam in over three years and so glad I came to Dr Hsieh. He spent ample time educating me on my aging eyes, providing some practical eye care tips which have been very helpful. I've been a client of theirs for many years. Heres why: Everyone in this optometry is professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. I usually get glasses from them, but recently, I have visited to get contact lenses for the first time. Dr. Hsieh always explain everything he does in the eye exam which helps me to understand what is going on with my eyes. The contacts Dr. Hsieh prescribed to me were very comfortable; sometimes I even forget I have them on. Even though I was a little frustrated at myself for not getting the contacts in my eyes in three tries, Emmy was very patient and kind, giving me tips and several different ways to get the contacts in. She really helped me feel confident in putting in and taking out my contacts, something I thought I might never be able to do. Doctor are decent but here is my review of the actual place: I scheduled appointment for both my wife and my self to do REGULAR exam to get just our regular prescription and possibly buy glasses. Every single year that we come in for exam we are treated as first time patients and have to answer all personal life question every single time, what I do on free time, my hobbies, my work etc just so you can sell me on more product or accessories.... What I noticed after coming here for 3 years is that no matter what I answer or what I say the options for glasses and additional cost is always the same. Premium glass to make them lighter. Blue light which can be adjusted on the computer with paying extra on glasses, anti glare and UV protection is only thing I can think is worth getting. I have never paid more than 150/200 for a visit that's including the eye exam. This time I was quoted close to $1000 for my self and $900 for my wife. This a down payment for a car you want me to spend this much for 2 pairs of glasses ?after the price i noticed my wife still had contact fitting done which she said doctor just gave her contacts asked if they fit and that was it........ the fact that you guys just add cost without telling us before you do it is insane to me...." Same as last time?" My wife without remembering what we do yearly said yes and you guys just did it without telling her it cost extra, when I asked why this was done I was told " maybe next time you should discuss this with your wife before coming..." are you kidding me?! We have 4 kids 2 of them are newborn .... The last thing I need is to hear is need to do better job scheduling appointment for eye exam as you offer me to spend $2k on glasses.. This is not how you treat local customers. You can remove as customers. read more

What's annoying is.... 1. Takes 2 weeks to get my perception glasses that I paid up front cash 2. They called me a lil after 2 weeks stating they are back ordered (understandable) they said they will call me Wednesday to schedule a pick up appt and get my perception glasses. 3. They never called. Look, when you tell a customer that you will call on a certainday...YOU SHOULD CALL. Don't matter if it is still back ordered or not. It's rude...I work for a dentist and when we say we will call you on such n such date / time best believe WE FOLLOW THROUGH. My appointment was at 10AM and I was not seen until 10:45AM. Luckily we are very patient people so time is not a big deal for us. I am writing this because I felt like the man who helped us today was very rude to my mother. My mother doesn't speak English but she kind of understands it and of course understand people TONE. This man sounded like he was in a rush. He would ask my mom which lens were better between 1 or 2, then ask over and over again then take a deep, loud breath and ask again but in a different tone. After we got done, we decided we wanted to get frames from there to make it more convenient but then I felt like the lady was trying to sell us things we didn't need and when we said no to them, she looked at us like as if we wasted her time. The total of everything she was trying to sell us came out to almost $1,000. So we changed our mind and went to Hercules and bought her frames for just $200 without anyone trying to sell us bull. read more

I'm really disappointed at the way the appointments are run here. I'm writing this review while sitting in the chair waiting to be examined. My appt was at 4:40 and it is now 5:08. If I'm on time, I expect my time to be respected as well. There are so many patients here and only one eye doc. So I don't see how it's possible for him to see everyone. And... my appointment only took 10 minutes. But the wait was 30 minutes... go figure. read more

I recently had cataract surgery and received a new prescription for eyeglasses from my ophthalmologist/surgeon, who also gave me a prescription for glasses to wear while at my computer I brought the latter prescription to Eye Love Optometry in Pinole. I got great service and advice from Michelle, who helped me choose frames and lenses, and patiently -- and I mean patiently -- explained the purpose of the add-ons for the lenses I bought, and the cost not only of the computer glasses, but also for the new bifocals that I will buy in 2023. In that time I have visited numerous otometry offices/glasses storefronts from both the east and west coasts: hands down, my experience at Eye Love Optometry was the best I have had. The store itself and the exam rooms are clean and modern, the staff is extremely helpful and kind, and the process was facile! Dr. Hsieh is extremely kind, compassionate, professional, and has a calming persona. Most importantly, he listens to his patients, answers questions jargon-free, and explains the process of what he is doing! Phenomenal! Previously my glasses and contacts would leave my eyes fatigued. My new prescriptions (glasses and contacts) as prescribed by Dr. Hsieh don't fatigue my eyes whatsoever! Aidan, the optical manager and resident eyewhere guru, has a real 'eye' -- pun intended -- for what glasses work best for what face. He is extremely attentive to details and facets of eyewhere of which I was completely oblivious! Moreover, Aidan really views eyewear as a representation of personal image, as a branding opportunity; and, much like an architect focuses on the relationship of form and function when designing buildings, Aidan views eyewear as functional art. After getting to know a little bit about me (my profession, lifestyle, etc.) at the shop, Aidan was able to select a pair of glasses that exemplifies who I am and makes me more confident! I am not a stylish person, and for the first time in my life I feel like I can rock some truly special and individual pieces of eyewear! I have gotten a ton of compliments on my new glasses. It is abundantly clear that Aidan is a master of his craft and that he loves what he does! I have recently had my doctors appointment, and the service was great. Aiden was SUPER patient with my in-decision of choosing glasses lol. The appointment I had was quickly and the staff was super nice and understanding. Once I received my glasses I noticed a scratch on my brand new glasses. When I told Aiden he offered to remake new ones right away without hesitation. I mentioned how eye sight was slightly blurry after my appointment wearing my contacts and glasses and Aiden offered AMAZING service by offering to get a new appointment if my glasses don't adjust within the next few weeks. The facility is so clean and tidy and the equipment they use is very up to date. The doctor is so good at explaining to me the result of my eye exam and is very patient during the eye exam.
