Ideal place to use for storage. We had our unit for a little over a year. Cons: no garbage cans available & our rate went up within 2-3 months when they initially told us it wouldn't for a while. Other than that we had a good experience. read more

Rented a unit here for 6 months & the rate increased by a little over 30% after 3 months. I called & complained to what they lowered it to around 256. Quick to get you in & quick to jack the rates & lower them from that jacked rate to make you feel like you've just won a new car. They told me they sent a letter 30 days prior stating the increase. That would really make it after the second month they screw you. Store elsewhere, save your self the headache. read more

Rented at this location due to convenience, but recently my unit was broken into - the cylinder lock was drilled through. This place is not secure or properly monitored. You can see people living in units and using generators. Immediately removed my items and searching for a new storage. read more

Best storage experience ever! It's almost a brand new facility with new storage units. I got to the office before hours and I just scanned the QR code on the front door and prompted me to a the website and call a person. I forgot the person who was on the phone with me but he went above and beyond to help me get a unit smoothly. Everything was done over the phone and email signed the contract and I got my unit number and gate code via email. Very simple process and excellent price. I definitely recommend this location for anyone looking for a storage unit it. read more

I have been at this location for a few months now and it's been several headaches which has led me to write an honest review for another wary customer. From the gate being locked on several occasions before closing our from changing the lock which took weeks to them claiming it's done and going on person to grab my key and the individual working the desk comes to tell me that is has not been done yet as well. The price also seems like a good deal until you real that after a few months they will increase it around 20-30% and then again when it hits a 6-9 month mark confirmed by a sales representative so their cheap rates are more to bait you in than to actually give customer care . If you value your items, punctual timing, access and your financials I would highly recommend against this location. read more

Extra Space Storage - Locked gate before 8pm when it's opened until 10pm. - Self Storage Near Me - Rancho Cordova, California

If I could rate zero stars, I would. I recently went to my storage unit to add a few boxes but my key wouldn't work in the lock. I went home to double check the keys. I had the right keys. Upon returning I asked the manager on site to help me get into my unit. She met me at my unit with a set of keys that opened the lock. It was then that she informed me that she had replaced my lock because my unit had been broken into!!! No phone call to notify me of either the break in or the change in the lock. WTF!? When I opened my unit it was obvious that someone broke in and went through my bins. So frustrating! Her only explanation was that she had a lot of other customers that had their units broken into and didn't have time to call me because of the number of customers this happened to. Really? She didn't offer any remedies. Nothing other than that I could call the police to report it. Sigh. Also, because it's a key code entrance I said it must be someone who has a unit there. She said yes, probably. Oh my gosh. Needless to say, I'm finding another storage company. DO NOT PUT YOUR BELONGINGS HERE!! read more

[Review posted on Google] Update 7/7/2023: Tammy is no longer at this location. As a long time tenant (two years), she was the person who kept me coming back and continuing to rent from this company and location. On the day that I received my rate increase notice, I screenshotted the rates for the 10x10 units on the website. My rate increase was "per market." The going (web) rate for 10x10 units was about $115. Drive-up 10/15 units were CHEAPER than this (my unit is down a hallway). Meanwhile, my unit is now $190+. I will update my review with the website screenshots. Insane. Not worth the stress. Find yourself an independently owned storage facility (without greedy and exorbitant rate spikes). Again, they punish long term customers and bet on short term rentals to move in, then get slapped with the "regular rate," that takes place after the honeymoon period of the "web rate" expires and you've committed to a unit. You can rent a small office for the price of these units. Save yourself the stress and explore your options before moving in here. Update 12/06/2022: Although the rate fluctuations are frustrating for a repeat/continued customer, I do want to say that Tammy (the site manager) is always a breath of breath air and ensures that she keeps her customers happy. She has an authentic, genuine and transparent attitude and personality that is contagious, and she always brightens my day. She does what she is able to do to make me happy as a (self-admitted) difficult customer. The rate fluctuations and increases are still incredibly frustrating (especially when, in my opinion, there should be rent control for storage units, since there are rent control laws for habitual dwellings to avoid the 50% increases that I've experienced)... even with that said, based on Tammy's interpersonal and customer service skills as the site manager of the facility, the rating deserves 5 stars. Also changing my review to 5 stars since the cleanliness and lack of pests, smells, and insects at this location is appreciated. I shopped around for a different location and I'm keeping my items here for the time being (even with the rate hikes). It's rare to find a storage location that is kept as clean and overall in excellent condition as this one is. Also, I've rarely seen a cleaner public bathroom anywhere--kudos to the team here for running a tight ship and being on their game. I appreciate the service, security, and cleanliness for my items. Update 9/28/2022: I am so sick of the song and dance of this company. When making a reservation, dismiss the "web rate" and focus on the "regular rate" that is on grey italics next to the rate. This is what the company will use as justification months later when your rent doubles. This company follows the business model that Comcast *used* to follow-- until they realized how backwards it was... which is to entice and reward new customers, while punishing existing customers. They will keep your rate as the "web rate," then double it within a few months. My rate DOUBLED from what it was three months ago. Since the web rates are based on a system/algorithmic model of occupancy--the web rates will plummet and the existing tenancy rates will skyrocket (aka to the "market" rate). Avoid this company unless you want to experience the frustration of looking on the website after your rate DOUBLES to see the web rate that is 50% (or LOWER) of your current rate, and for a better unit. The staff at this site is spectacular and always gives a positive customer facing impression, which is why I left two stars. Absolutely atrocious rate policies and unnecessary frustration. I will be moving to a private storage company that follows a business model which mimics the rent control policies (which are in place for a reason)--rent will not be increased on a monthly basis more than 10% of the monthly rent. Not worth it... avoid if at all possible. Wish all companies had a Tammy working for them. Super friendly, very polite and truly knows her job. I needed a safe place to Park my work vehicle after it had been broken into several times. She had me set up on auto pay and a parking spot with in minutes. What I really liked was her awareness of all those coming and going. She even let me know my vehicle tags had expired just really on top of her job. I truly never thought I would be writing a review about a storage company, but the overall service and experience was just too good for me not to take a few minutes out of my day and express my gratitude. Beware of this place. I signed up in May of 2020 with a decent rate /of $69/month for a 5x15 space. Within 6 months they increased it to $75/month. Not that big a deal. Now, in October, and not more than a year later they are doubling my rate to $150/month. Total BS !! Beware the bait and switch Other than that, the place is great. read more

Terrible customer service and their units are overpriced. They just raised my rent $100 so they must be losing money due to their high debt load. Next month I will be moving from Extra Space Storage to Public Storage due to price. No loyalty to long-term customers. I had my 10'x30' unit for 4 years and they raised the price every year. This place is Terrible!! You get what you pay for. Spend more for a nicer place. When I initially got the unit it was very small but affordable seemed safe with the security and looked clean!! Fast forward a few months. I noticed the unit next to me had a ton of rat droppings Rt in front of it starting around Mid June. I told the lady in the front and asked about it and what I can do. Apparently she is the Manager I found out later. She said pest control can come in and spray the unit? Hmm ok. She said she would call me in about 2 weeks to notify me when they can spray it. Well spraying I would think would be more for bugs not rats. A few weeks later I go back and still rat droppings. I then get a few rat traps to put in my unit which I did for a little over a month. I went back once a week for about 5 weeks to check and no rats in the traps, but always droppings next to my unit and there is nobody in that unit. I asked how often then clean the halls she said frequently. Well I don't think so, there have been the same rat dropping in front of the unoccupied unit since mid June. There is bird poop in the halls and it looks dirty now. I just went back to my unit today and now I notice droppings inside !! I had to rent a truck to move all my stuff here which was pricey less than 6 months ago. Now I have to worry about moving all my stuff, getting a truck, and having help once again because my unit has rats in it!! I'm disgusted. Don't go here ever!! read more

I'll start off with the fact that the employees were nice and helped when called. The huge problem that I have is the fact that after a couple of months my rate skyrocketed without notice. When I called, the explanation was the rate changes as the economy requires. After reading the contract more closely, it does state that the rate can change at any time with a 30 day notification. They claim they sent a card in the mail, however, I receive emails from the post office on what to expect in my mail box and I never received anything from Extra Space. They did reduce the new rate and increasing to $7 more than my original payment and stating that they would keep that rate till the end of the year and noting my account. The other two issues I was not happy with was 1-I requested climate control but it was horribly hot and humid. No, it wasn't the 90 degree heat in a boxed unit but the stuff that I was storing required the climate control. 2-When moving out, we noticed our stuff had dried up water marks and ceiling particles on our plastic bins. Fortunately the stuff that was not in bins was okay. We really wanted this unit for a long while but after the random price increase, we knew we would just make other arrangements. read more

I had been with this facility for about six years without any problems. Then kne day i go to my unit and realized it had been broken into. I notified management and called rancho PD to make a report. Then in about 8 months my unit was broken into again. So again i notified management and called the police and made a report. The first break in got ne for more than $7000 worth of stuff and the second time for about $4000. The problem is they dont have nearly enough cameras at the facility i believe they omly have 4 I kmow there are no cameras on the isle where my unit was. This is not a safe or secure place to store your belongings. read more

Do not store anything here! They sold my storage unit without sending me anything or calling! And yes I have phone records showing I never got anything from them! This is a horrible place to use!! The staff are heartless and didn't do anything to contact me!!! Stay away from them if you value your belongings!!! And I have a close friend who this crap company did the same thing to! For $265/mo, we expected an interior light and/or electricity. The roll up doors are plastic, but as long as security is good, that'll be fine. Parking at or near your unit may be a problem (today, 3 vehicles were parked in front of ours because they have walk-in storage behind us). They have the best hours we could find and the location works well for us. read more
