When I got my unit in 2014, 10 years ago, I was told to pick out a lock and leave one key with the…read moreproperty manager. Fast forward to June 2024 I am told they don't have keys and I'd need a locksmith. I decide to try to remove the lock myself first, and buy bolt cutters. I arrive at my unit to find my padlock isn't there and the lock looks different. I call and I am told they haven't changed the locks, and again I'll need to call a locksmith. $250 later a locksmith tells me he was just out the week prior and was told a similar story by that customer.. he drills through the lock, opens my unit, and there's the old lock with my padlock on it in my unit!! They DID change the locks! Wow.. We empty my unit of everything but a TV and table. I had paid the month of June so I had time to remove it. I get a call from the property manager Tish, or Trish, and she says if I'd like, she can leave the dumpster unlocked for me to dispose of those items. Wow, awesome, okay. So we show up and it isn't unlocked. Okay, no biggie. I'll stick to the original plan. So we put the TV and table back in my unit. I call and I'm assured by some guy that I'm paid through June, so I have a week before July to figure it out. The next couple days go by and I'm hit with a $250 abandoned items charge. I log into my account and it shows I no longer have a storage unit. I call and leave a message and no one will call me back. I call customer service, explain all the above, Tish/Trish calls me back and says she's going to have the DM remove it, and it was a misunderstanding on their end. I'm so grateful, and think this is all behind me. Even accept that they threw away the table I planned on keeping. A week later $250 is deducted from my bank... I call and no one calls me back. A few days after that, a months charge hits my bank and all the sudden I have the same storage unit under my public storage account. I have called the property manager probably 15 times. I have called customer service, who by the way, told me they be pissed if this was them. They gave me the district manager's, Jesse, phone number. Who also won't call me back after 3 attempts. We are nearing Aug and I need my money back and this account closed. I need someone to call me back!! I can't go anywhere to speak to anyone in person. This experience has been terrible, and I'm out almost $500, really $740!! I have never been even a day late, and I've never complained. I expect someone to reach out to me.

The rent goes up fast!…read more The facility was clean and easy to access. The rate for the 5x10 unit was $51/month in August 2024 (after a $41/month introductory rate for three months). They increased the price quickly. In May 2025, they raised the rent to $66/month, and they just notified me that on February 2026, the rent would increase to $86/month. That's a 30% increase every 9 months, a 70% increase in a year and a half. I'm moving my stuff out before the next rent increase goes into effect. If I were to do it again, I would only consider Public Storage for short-term rental (less than a year).

After 2/3 hours they called and saying that it has some major visible damage and now fined me a lot due to this. If it is major damage and it is not any automobile that they got to know later, so why cannot they checked earlier when i returned in front of me. And also saying it is major visible damage so if it is there when i returned they did not noticed and said anything, also charge me rent and sent receipt. I returned it all good as i drive it to them from my place around 20 miles and they checked, recieved and then charge me rent also as i have receipt at that time. I don't know what happened in there parking or just making money and charging on false statements. Also they charge me and send reciept first with the only rent which they returned back to my card and after 2/3 hours then they charge me with damage and rent so if there is damage how can they charge me first only rent without inspection?
