I am beyond frustrated with this company. I first got my storage unit at what I thought was a good deal at the time. Being a 23 year old that has rent, student loans and car payment it sounded perfect for my budget. Then out of no where after 5 months of having my storage unit I get billed $15 extra on top of what I already pay.. So extremely frustrated I called them asking why I was getting changed this extra $15.. The "manager" told me he had "no idea what was going on" and he said he could credit me towards my next months bill... No I am not giving you the free pass to take an extra $15 dollars for something you can't even explain. Then another couple of months go by and now I'm getting calls saying my storage is 2 months past due?!? Ummm.. This is why I selected in automatic bill pay. So that it would be taken care of every month and never forgotten.. And now they are trying to pin me with a "late fee." No I am not paying your your mistake. Type the correct credit card number on file and YOU wouldn't have this problem. I refuse to pay a late fee for something that is not my fault. I feel like I'm being screwed here. If no starts were possible that's what I would put. When I get a truck available, I will be moving my things out of this storage unit. read more

It's a very clean facility, nicely set up & there's not much traffic. It's optimal for people with large amounts to store. But there's one MAJOR issue -- the resident manager is very unpleasant & unprofessional. She doesn't handle situations very well when it comes to being professional. Maybe confrontations make her nervous but for the sake of your customers educate that girl. read more

Rented a 10x15 outside drive up space. This facility is huge and well kept with excellent security and a on site manager who also lives there. Security cameras are also active. The facility also specializes in Boat and RV storage. Both Andy and Jeff who helped us were great. Yes, Extra Space is more expensive than some competitors in area, but I checked them out and they appeared run down, small, and have a very small lot and not easy access. When you pull up in a truck you want to have easy access and not be blocking other units or people moving. The space I rented was actually 9.5x14.5 this is common for commercial rentals to include space between walls but if you have a specific size item to store measure your space and door opening before moving it in. The first month free promotion was in effect so this helped with cost. read more

I wanted to wait to write and post my review until after we had gone through the move in, 6 month stay, and move out process. Overall, the experience was good. I believe Sergio was the one to move us in (happened a while ago) but he was awesome! Made everything very easy and convenient. The pricing is a taaad high, especially for the units not being climate controlled... but it's Oceanside so what do you expect? Some of our cheaper appliances rusted even though they were carefully packed and wrapped up in storage, so watch out for that. I figure it has something to do with the proximity of the storage unit to the beach with lack of climate control. Our move in and out process was pretty seamless but upon moving out, I had a hard time getting ahold of the office. I didn't want to be charged for the month of November so I called them multiple times and ended up leaving a voicemail. I hadn't heard back for a few days and it was nearing the time I was due for my automatic charge, so I called them again and finally someone picked up. Apparently they got my voicemail and cancelled my account for me, which is great, but I had gotten no confirmation. I'm thankful they listened to my voicemail and put me down as moved out so I wouldn't be charged, but I could have gotten a phone call or email? Instead I was stressed wondering if I would be charged for an entire month considering getting ahold of anyone was difficult. Anyway, overall positive experience with just a few inconsistencies. read more

Until this month and this time I put stuff into this storage place they were cool. I had been a customer for at least 18 months between my 2 stays here before my 3rd which began this month. I lost my job, my parents and my home in 3 months time recently and I've been living in my truck and keeping everything I own here and because I have to come to my storage daily to drop off and pick up essentials like bedding and blankets and clothes and toiletries I am being kicked out at the end of the month. I had 1 warning prior and basically just 1 employee here hates his life so much he likes to help screw others up too to feel less bad about his own existence. I'm a 32 y.o. Male who has been employed since I was 17 and just fell on a hard time and this is exactly what I didn't need to add to my heavy load. I'm shocked and upset and disappointed because I've never been late once on paying them nor had I done anything else wrong until now when I'm here too much apparently. No I literally helped people move stuff when they needed help and swept out my unit before and after every time I left and left it spotless. I truly don't understand how long-term customers don't get more appreciation nowadays that used to be so different. Thank you so much for making my life harder because it wasn't already hard enough in my opinion nothing at all and I'm not telling me to before you do so not giving me a chance to correct my ways. And also I spend every day hours and hours away from here looking for work at libraries are going to drop resumes off so because I have 3 herniated discs and move everything here by myself and had to do it slowly I'm being evicted I find it incredibly wrong read more

This is a great place to store your Boat or RV has great security and has an awesome washout bay on the premises thats great for all the salt water boats or even just to clean your car to your RV . leaving a 2 star because the cost of renting RV space has gone up and up and up month after month after month. It gets really old to constantly pay more for the same space. Someone parked in our space while we were away on a trip and so all they did to fix the situation was to relocate us to a less convenient space, and then charged us more! Parking is gated and we felt safe leaving our RV there but the staff was always just so-so and the jacking up of monthly costs needs to stop. We no longer park here anymore. read more

This storage is horrible! I have gotten my storage unit broken into 3 times! And they did nothing about it! On several different occasions the main front gate remains open all day long, I have called to complain, once again they did nothing about it! They must have little to no security, my belongings were definitely not safe, unfortunately I had to find that out the hard way! I would not recommend this storage facility!! read more
