Large-size hand trucks are widely available, and a janitor keeps the floors looking tidy. I did not price much, but the 55 a month size held most of my apartment items, minus the bed, for the summer that I was gone from New Orleans. Definitely, this is the cheaper option for dealing with your belongings if you are going to be away from New Orleans for an extended amount of time.

Located on Chef Menteur Highway near Louisa Street, this location is convenient to get to and from Interstate 10. However, the Gentilly Woods area is not what it was 30 years ago. However, the proprietor was nice and the process of renting an RV space was simple and straight forward. There is 24 hour access, security cameras and the lot was easy to drive the RV in and park it. For the record, this is not my RV. I just was a copilot along for the ride. This place is one off the few places that you can acquire secure RV parking for just under $100.00 a month. I can't comment on the self storage units but everything looked ok. Can't wait till I get to go on the 1st "ROAD TRIP".

After moving into a "furnished" apartment that was unfortunately stocked with some of the ugliest…read moreart and accessories I've ever seen, I needed to find an affordable way to store my landlord's excess junk. I ran across Chef Highway Storage in my search for a cheap but safe rental unit, and am so glad I did. I was able to get a small, insured, unit, large enough for a couple of dressers and a bunch of boxes of knick knacks, for under $50 a month. On top of the affordable rates, they offer a 5% off deal if you pay via autopay each month, which really helps out. It's not the fanciest, and I didn't opt for climate control since the stuff I'm storing isn't anything special, but I'm very happy with the unit and the service I've received so far. They even send out monthly email reminders to remind you to pay, and have always been very helpful on the phone and in person when I've needed to contact their office.

I brought my boat in for the 1999 Johnson 200 HP Ocean Pro outboard motor to be repainted. The…read moreorginal color of the motor is Johnson gray. I got a quote for 1500.00 for the job. When I went to pick the boat up, the outboard motor was paint white. No one told me they were going to change the color, nor did I request it to be painted white. Now I didn't say anything to them about this because when I was shopping for this boat, 1999 Seaswirl Striper 21 ft walk-around, the motors were white, which I really liked better than the gray, but at the time I was ready to purchase, the motors were changed to gray color. That was why I didn't say anything to them about it; but I felt this was not handled properly for changing the color unauthorized by me. The paint job finish was really good, however, with the exception of some shoddy cleanup work after they painted it: namely some masking tape left stuck to the interior of the boat where they masked it off for overspray, and tape left on a lower unit bolt, and worse, tape left on one of the lower unit intake ports. You can understand what would have happened if I didn't catch the latter- engine overheating! It took me a good while to remove the stuck on tape from the boat's interior area. I also wasn't too pleased with the tape job on the motor cover's black gasket, which I had to clean the white paint off of. As far as the motor decals, I chose to buy and put them on myself. Another frightening thing that would have been a serious catastrophy is that they removed the screw-in drain plug in the rear of the haul and didn't tell me. I never remove this plug as the boat is self-bailing as well as having an automatic bilge pump below the upper deck. Fortunately I happened to find that plug laying in the transom backwash tray. I was disappointed about the job as a whole, given all the good reviews that prompted me to take it here.

It wasn't explained that a 500 deposit would be put on a credit card. The young lady handling the rental explained that only half the cost of the pontoon rental (295$) would be put on hold. It wasn't explained that the rental wouldn't include gas use. For obvious first timers this should have been initially disclosed. No reminders that pontoon rental was coming up. No reassurance that after a lake ban had been issued not allowing folks to get into the lake that it was ok to be on a boat. No communication or reassurances. I had to ask all the questions and keep calling back about the lake algae bloom and no copies of the paper work we had to sign. Recommend going somewhere else as we should do next time.
