Loretta was a lifesaver! She was so helpful! I needed to get the storage unit out of my name, and into the name of the person I share it with. She didn't give up until the task was complete! DO NOT USE THIS PLACE! I would leave zero stars but Yelp requires at least a 1 star rating. But believe me- these people deserve negative 100 stars. It is impossible to get a person to answer your calls. If you drive by the office in the hope of connecting with a person, there is a sign directing you to call a number (don't waste your time because no one calls you back). At this point, I am convinced that there is no property manager on site. I misplaced my key and have attempted to get the property manager to return my calls for weeks. No responses have been provided. I need the key so I can get my stuff out but they won't return my calls and they keep charging me. Also - they scam you by providing a low cost when you sign up but then increase it by over 50% within the year (I went from $130 to nearly $300). They are the worst. The property manager is no problem. The company sucks. Instead of giving an introductory rate you know will change, they just advertise a low price then gouge your rent almost double 3 months later and keep raising it every 3 months until you default or move out. They know moving out is not convenient hoping you default so they can tack on late fees for more revenue. But then you check online and your unit is advertised for half what you're paying. Their corporate don't care figuring the franchises can deal with the backlash as long as stakeholders are making profit. The company is not in the business of self storage. The company is an investment company and uses self storage as its asset. Their monthly overhead doesn't change and they wait until after you move in to inflate your rent hoping to capitalize on excessive late fees. They use your personal belongings as extortion. No matter how much they charge you, they assume you'll do whatever it takes to save your stuff. All I needed was a place to store cabinets while I renovated my house and they doubled my rent in 4 months. I moved to a cheaper unit and they doubled that one too. read more

I feel compelled to let people know how awful my experience was storing at this place for 3 years. Not only did my rent triple rapidly, access to units is difficult, parking and unloading is difficult, there is a homeless problem, drugs being done in the filthy restrooms, etc. The worst was a roof leak into my unit. My items got moldy and lots destroyed. Family heirlooms destroyed. Artwork destroyed. The response from management was "you got insurance, right?" I did have insurance. It didn't nearly cover all the damage. ...Then when I went to move out rats had eaten through plastic and destroyed a mattress! read more

7/23/18 - went to my unit to remove some things and put more in. There was a large puddle of water in the hallway with an orange cone, indicating that management knew about the water. When I opened my unit, water has soaked into everything. Not sure of the amount of damage. I did not receive a call or a text to advise me of a problem. When I went to the guy downstairs- he handed me a brochure for insurance and told me to take pictures. How about, which unit you are going to move my things to while they dry out? How about the rent will not be charged? How about managing this place with some degree of attention? read more

I've been using my unit at this location going on 6 months and have had some of the best customer service from the employees. From proper packing technique to accidentally breaking my key inside my lock, they have been extremely helpful. Most recently, I got caught outside at closing time and had to leave my unit closed but with no lock. Trusting the safety of this location I was confident nothing will be tampered with over night. I was even more relieved to receive a prompt phone call from Kenya first thing in the morning after her walk through, reminding me that my unit did not have a lock and offering to put a lock on it until I was able to swing by. I reserved a space online 5x5. When I went to move my stuff (several large plastic bins), I was led to my space and only then did I see that there were about 12-14 steps to go up. No elevator to this particular area so I would've had to carry the bins up the stairs and down 2 hallways to my space. That didn't work for me so I canceled the reservation. Only after that did I find out the $51.88 I was charged was not refundable. I never put the first thing into the space. Don't book these places online, ever. read more

I got there an hour before close and was met with a huge attitude about the time and told I could only take a look if I was definitely renting that day. If 4pm is too late then change your closing time from 5 to 4. Secondly it's shady as hell telling someone they have to rent something before seeing it. She had given away my reservation Without any Email and without a phone call- despite the fact that the reservation Specifically stated she would call. I had tried to call- 4 times- not a single call was answered. My 2 messages were never returned. When I asked why- the agent felt that yelling louder and louder would somehow make her actions justifiable. I called the LA manager for Public Storage. He was very nice on the phone; however, he did not call me back as we'd agreed upon within 2 days to see if there were any scheduled contract terminations- hence an open spot- available. He placed a weekly hold at the St Charles spot- but never contacted me regarding availability as he said he would at other locations. When the weekly hold passed- I called twice and left messages. To this day, he has never returned my call. ** Additionally, my friend told me later that when she had used this location, her items flooded- not from Katrina- from building problems. read more

Glad I chose this location, this is my first time getting a storage locker. Clara was awesome, she's really nice! I told her my situation about clearing out one of the rooms at my uncles place so that I can move in asap. She showed me the storage and explained their policies and hours. My experience was phenomenal. I received confirmation of my reservation both online and through a phone call. As my reservation date came closer I received a complimentary reminder call as well. Upon arrival, from start to finish I enjoyed being there and giving Monique my business. The temperature controlled units are a must here in New Orleans. She was great at finding me a bigger unit because I reserved a unit too small initially. They also provide you with a lock, so you dont need to buy your own. There is ample security as well. Front door access for new customers and security gated access for existing customers. Really great experience. read more

This Public Storage location was great, perfect location (not isolated), clean, bright, with fenced parking, and with a wonderful staff (double Sherri). Both Sherris were wonderful. I recently moved to New Orleans and had selected this location based on other Yelp reviews. When I showed up, I was totally dismayed at the condition of the facility but had movers on the way, so I had no choice. The facility has crumbling walls, smells terribly of mold and mildew, has a broken back gate, and has very restrictive hours (NO ACCESS AT ALL AFTER 5:00 PM). As soon as I could, I found another storage facility, but have had to pay $700 to have all my things moved an extra time! When I retrieved my things for the second move, I found new rust and mold growing on wrought iron chairs I had put in storage. Even my movers were disgusted with the facility, and they see a lot of them. I moved to Uncle Bob's storage in Kenner, and it has been a completely different experience there. read more
