PLEASE, PLEASE pay attention to this. MakeSpace IS A SCAM…read more After being told my movers would arrive between 8-11am I received a text message at 10:50 from the moving team saying, "we'll be there in 20-30 depending on traffic". 50 minutes later, nothing. I so texted them and received a message saying, "we're en route". At this point it was 11:45 -- 45 MIN LATE FROM THE LAST POINT OF THE TIME WINDOW. Then about 20-25 minutes later, I received a message from a customer service agent - not the movers who had been texting me - saying there was nowhere to park, so they left. Interesting, because there were places to park, including where I parked my car to ensure there was a designated spot. The customer service rep was very apologetic and said she'd call the team. She called them, and called me back maybe 40 minutes later only to say she couldn't help cause they had nowhere to park. WHO DOES THAT? They could text updates on their arrival, but when they didn't see immediate parking, said nothing. Keep in mind, this was the last day of the month. I was moving from Philadelphia to Boston that day. So I now had to engineer a move to Boston the same day (now at about 1:30pm). Needless to say, no moving company could help. I looked at a previous Uhaul quote I'd gotten when I was considering moving myself -- the truck rental would have been $450. Uhaul, Ryder, and Budget all had no trucks within 150mi. of Philadelphia on the day of the move. Penske did -- so I drove 45 minutes to pick it up, paying $1200 for the rental. Of course, I was moving from a 3rd floor walk up apartment, which was too much to move myself with the time crunch. I was forced to hire people off TaskRabbit since no actual movers could accommodate the same day scheduling. Like the truck, I paid a significant premium for same day help. The two gents, who were far from professional movers, with me, were able to get my stuff in the truck in 3 hours. All in, I paid $600 for those two helpers. Worst of all, I went back and looked at the quotes I'd gotten for a full-service move from Philly to Boston (all in the $1,400-1,700 range). Instead, I ended up paying just over $2k, because MakeSpace is a SCAM. Maybe a bad outing, you say? Just bad luck? I thought so, too. Don't get me wrong, under no circumstances would an experience this bad be allowable, but then I met my friend's new girlfriend -- who HAD THE EXACT SAME EXPERIENCE. As did her friend, who moved the same week she had from NYC to Philly. They often DO NOT SHOW, do not call, and leave you to figure it out. I paid just over $2,000 to move myself! Not leaving Philly until 9pm and arriving in Boston to my new apartment at 3am. Thankfully I was able to get out the same day and avoid having to deal with my old apartment and property manager to pay additional rent. All-in-all, the worst experience ever. Whatever you do, do not risk it by using this "company".

Called and got a quote from a very nice and competent salesperson. The salesperson had me take an inventory of our furnishings and belongings, which I described accurately and thoroughly. He told me final pricing could vary slightly as standard furniture sizes differ. Of course, fine, makes sense. Set a pickup date and all was well. The moving date came and we asked the movers if the quoted price seemed reasonable. Before packing up they assured us the price was in line with the quote. When they finished loading the truck the price was close to twice the quoted cost. While inquiring why the quotes were so inaccurate one the Spanish-speaking movers said something to the effect of "these white people have too much shit!" I guess he thought he was safe saying that dealing what he thought were Connecticut yuppies. My fiancé didn't catch it but being from the Bronx area I'm pretty familiar with the terms "gringo" and "mierda." When our belongings were delivered several items were destroyed or missing. While unpacking it was very apparent our items were packed carelessly. My fiancé had a damaged side table handcrafted by his father; Packing Bees told us they would send it for repairs but it's been 5 months and we haven't gotten it back. I had a crocheted blanket from my deceased grandmother that never arrived...and who knows what else was packed along with it. I guess we shouldn't be gringos with so much shit.

When I made my appointment for pickup I expressed to sales that I needed and would like my belongings delivered by July 31. Mind you my pick up date was July 27. This is my first time moving across the country (600 miles away) so I had no idea this *wasn't possible. The sales office and the dispatch office DO NOT communicate. OK, no worries. Although I did buy a RT plane ticket AFTER sales advised me it shouldn't be a problem delivering my items by the 31st. It would be delivered Saturday. Next. Movers come for pickup. The guys are fast and efficient and friendly. The point guy says I needed to give him a check or cashiers check of 75% of the balance. I say no one explained that to me. I have a credit card and don't have $1150 in my bank account. This info was in the fine print, which I did not read while on the phone with sales as he explains where to check off and sign. OK that was my mistake. I just thought if we're talking about money, sales should at least mention that to first time customers when going over contracts via phone. Again, my bad for not reading the lengthy contract. So I wrote a post dated check. I explain to the point guy that my check is post dated and I have no funds to cover the balance. He says ok. Next day I'm on a flight. I check my bank balance and it reads $0. What in thee total Fuck!! I immediately text dispatch -who calmed me down and said he would deposit the money back in my account. Says the point guy must not have told the accountant. And the accountant must not have looked at the date. OK. Thanks for putting the money back in my account so quickly because I had to pay my rent with what I had in my account. Next. I was told since I'm moving to an apartment the freight elevator charges can be waived, but I needed to hear from someone else in sales to put that on paper. Again, dispatch (who oversee movers) and sales department do not communicate. Movers need this in writing before delivery or I get charged. I've been speaking to one person for at least a week trying to get this is writing. That guy says he's waiting on the quality control guy to "fix it." OK but it's been a week. I'll call again Friday to get that statement emailed to me because, again, I need that BEFORE movers deliver my belongings. Stay tuned... Saturday, August 3, 2019: Dispatch sends me a text stating "driver is coming to the terminal Monday to load the shipments that are going to the route in Indianapolis." First of all, this person advised me earlier in the week that my belongings could be DELIVERED on Saturday (when I was back in Indianapolis). I told the person this was unacceptable. Why were my things not being transported until Monday? That means I probably won't get my things until Wednesday. Remember I begin a new job Aug 5. I was told moves come on a first come, first serve basis. OK but my belongings were picked up from my home on July 27 (SUNDAY!). Monday, August 5: I called the main office multiple times and got voicemail. Not good. Stay tuned for an update...

I have several items that went on the truck ( I also help put things on the truck) but did not come off the truck. I have several pairs of designer shoes that are missing. I'm so upset because I see similar reviews all saying the same thing! I called and sent emails and only got a response a week later trying to imply that my mother may have put the things in the trash by mistake. Do not use this company! You may just see your things on various selling sites! 0 stars Let's be clear based on your response, I was fully packed and very organized because I helped your movers take stuff to truck. I guess a person(s) will try and say anything to defect. I have a bag with several shoes missing, SETS of designers shoes and and the make of other shoes. Joking about being disorganized and the delay of notification was due to my return from traveling for holiday. Kevin was very rude and unprofessional on the phone. I don't care how many years you are in business, you have multiple Facebook posts looking for workers with one saying " desperately " That right there says enough about. Multiple reviews say similar. I'm a very honest person and treated your workers with care and respect. Providing water and giving your Forman my charger to use because HE DID not have one for my out of state trip and he stated he needed it for the GPS. Tory Burch shoes and boots that are missing and other designers. Pictures

Jose was easy to talk to and very professional about making sure we had a good experience. The team also worked quickly and finished the job in under the 6 hours quoted. So appreciative of Jose and his team and the whole experience with Vector. Hopefully our next move is many years away but we would definitely go with Vector again!
