Apparently what was advertised and sold to me was a promotional rate. This was never discussed with me on the phone nor was I told when the promotion would end. Instead, I just came home to a postcard informing me that my price would go from $68 a month to $136 a month. Due to this omission of information up front, I promptly cancelled my space and took my business elsewhere. So now, I will forever be letting people know that Extra Space Storage just doesn't give you all the facts and lies by omission. read more

Kudos to Tarynn, the manager, for making the contract experience fast, cheerful and informative. I've had my stuff in a storage unit for 4 ish months and my rates doubled from $40 something to over $80 a month for a tiny 5x5 unit. I was at another Extra Space before this and my 5x13 unit only increased after 12 months and only went up $15 and it wasn't much more than what I'm paying with this new rate. Can't wait to get back to Portland and get my stuff out of this facility. read more

Service has been poor to non existent. There is never anyone at the site. And they raised my storage fee out of the blue. And not just raised-almost double!!! Extra space is ripping their clients off I absolutely do Not recommend. There are many better options with services on site that won't double the rent for no reason. After 3 tries I finally got a live person on the phone and simply asked if they thought this was fair or just. They refused to answer, only to say I had a rate better than I could get as a new person signing on. So if you are reading this-Do Not Sign Up with Extra Space Storage. So, we're in the process of clearing out our unit. Our last day is the 18th of this month, and yesterday (the 13th) we got a phone call from someone from the storage unit (we'll call him "arrogant ass"). He stated that we can't just leave our garbage in the unit and it needs to be cleaned up immediately! The sad part is that it's still rented to us for another 5 days! We emptied out most of our critical items, and had just left a bed frame and mattress inside. As it's a spare and not worth much to us, I left the unit unlocked. Honestly, if someone wanted to steal it I could care less, hence the absence of the lock. Basically, one of their employees trespassed in our unit, made some dumbass assumptions, then called us and left a rude message like we were children being scolded. To future storage renters, I would avoid this place. Their staff is obviously uneducated, uncouth, and downright rude. As for the management of this storage facility, I'd be interested in your take on your employees going into our unit without cause and then harassing us? Or do you even care? The property is clean and well managed. There was a recent price increase, and I wish it had been done more gradually. However, rates had been significantly under market rate before then. The staff has always been responsive and helpful. I've been able to do everything remotely, which has been helpful as I started renting during COVID, and I now live out of town. Everything about having a storage unit here has exceeded my expectations and has been an easy, pleasant experience. I would rent from here again. read more

I'd called other facilities looking for space and apparently there is a dearth of storage around! I then stopped in here and found this place amazingly clean! Must be because it's new, but I opted to store here because it was just so clean! Most other places were very old and worn. It was nice to see the security camera feeds. I'd recommended it. I moved to this location from an Extra Space Storage facility out of state. I had such a great experience with the first facility that renting from Extra-Space again was a no-brainer. I was able to lease my unit remotely, so that I was able to move in right away even though I showed up on a Sunday when the office was closed. Brian in the front office was great through the whole process and worked with the staff at my previous facility to make this happen seamlessly. The property itself feels clean and well-kept, and is well lit with cameras everywhere so it feels very safe and secure no matter what time of day or night that you stop by. Brian is always readily available to help with any issues or questions and is extremely kind and friendly. ***One word of advice: be prepared that this facility uses a tubular cylinder lock rather than a padlock. I showed up with the padlock I had used at my last unit and was not able to use it on the door - this was totally my fault for not asking what type I needed when I called ahead, but it's something to be aware of if you're showing up for the first time.*** read more

If you park a trailer there, hope there's never any damage to it. Check on your stuff often because they don't do their rounds like they're suppose to. We now have a damaged trailer that we haven't even owned a year and they're no help in assisting in catching the person that did it. read more

We got a unit here almost a year ago now because it was near our place, reviews were decent and it was the best price in comparison to other places near us. The staff we had interactions with were nice and there were no problems. Within maybe 2 months, we get notice that our monthly fee was going up $10 on one of the smallest units they have. Besides the almost immediate increase in cost, we liked everything else. Fast forward to the other day when my husband went digging through our stuff to find a fan and there is mice droppings on a bunch of our stuff. GROSS. ETA: I just called to complain about this and spoke with someone (I think his name was Chris). He said that they have someone who comes out once a month for pest control and that I'd have to come in and they'd look at my until and look into other units surrounding for same issues. For these situations, they write an incident report and work with pest control to resolve these issues. I'm going to guess that it wasn't the manager I spoke with based on the other two reviews with same complaints this month. read more

Go somewhere else! Mice had gotten in to the unit and destroyed items. The manager wasn't helpful at all. Was told the renters insurance (that they make you take out) would not pay for it. How can this be right? Expectation is that the contents be safe, secure, AND not mouse infested! Very disappointed. read more

After looking at 4 different self storage facilities, I was unable able to find the climate controlled unit in the size I wanted. ExtraSpace by the Hillsboro Airport not only had the size I wanted, but they were the most reasonably priced facility near my home. The staff is extra helpful, and super nice, and they offered me deals even though it wasn't a temporary promotion or current advertisement. I would highly recommend this location, even if it's a bit far out. read more
