I received estimates from Chapel Hill Moving Company for packing in two stages. The packers arrived on time and were polite and friendly. They were at my home for three hours. The final charge for the initial packing (including materials) was extremely high. When I spoke with Ethan, the owner of the company, he was condescending and rude to me. It became evident to me that while the company provides estimates, the actual charges at the end of the job are at or beyond the high end. Interestingly, there are other reviews that also mention the high cost of Chapel Hill Moving Company. I will be using a different company for the second packing stage and for moving, while hoping that the packing was done professionally and carefully. I recommend that others use a different packing and moving company that is reliable, professional, and (as importantly) cost-effective. Moving is too expensive to overpay when the company knows it can get away with it.

So we agreed to add a packer, he was an hour late and did not pack he hung out with the others movers. It got to be 6:30 PM and they were all standing out by the truck with a lot of stuff not packed and still in place in my condo, so all my stuff did not get moved. We had to go to the new place My good suits were stuffed down in a box wrinkled to the max. The guys were very friendly. I was told the unused moving supplies (boxes etc.) would be credited and removed. Over 10 boxes, wrapping paper, plastic wrap, many rolls of tape were left behind . My original estimate was $1100. I knew it would rise with the addition of a man, but not to $2800. $1000 of which were supplies which I ended up throwing away. Like I said some of this was the estimate process which I bear some responsibility, but the tardiness and lack of job completion were not my responsibility

She was so professional and informative, and I was really impressed when she told me that the company employs their movers full-time, and that many of the movers have worked for the company for years. The company is easy to get ahold of when you have questions, and everyone there is communicative and helpful. Sapphira was so helpful in coordinating logistics and answering complicated questions, and was so gracious and flexible when I had to change my move date. We also did a virtual walk-through the day before my move, so that she could be sure the team was fully ready for everything the following day. My movers were Travis and Wilson. Wow -- what a team!!! They were so professional, so courteous, and very experienced.
