I purchased my 2 Family Home from my Landlord in 1999. About 1994, 2 years into me Renting she put up a New Roof. Now 28 years later it was time for me to do the same. My Brother saw his neighbor 2 Houses down was having a New Roof put on. I signed the Contract on 10/07 & the Roll Off & Work started on 10/11! There were 3 Layers of Roofing on the Rental Side & 2 Layers on Mine. ALL had to be removed & ALL NEW WOOD had to be put up on the Rental Side & a DEAD Chimney was taken down below the Roof Line as well as Vents moved! We had a leak. We wanted it fixed. We didn't want a new roof. I tried fix A. It didn't work. We called Exterior and Mike came out. He suggested fix B for me to try since the roof looked OK in his estimation. That didn't work either so we hired them to put a new roof on. That worked. No more leak. Mike returns calls and he shows up. The estimate seemed fair enough. The crew was fast, just three hours start to finish. We have a typical post war split level, an easy job as far as roofs go so there wasn't any major derring do or complicated stuff, just straight get to work and bang it out. I called to set up an appointment for someone to come out and inspect my roof because of a leak. I explicitly stated that they would need a very tall ladder to reach the roof, as we had others come out previously who all indicated they needed the tallest ladder they could find. Man comes on the Aug 25, as scheduled. I meet with him outside to walk him through the issues. He states he doesn't have the right size ladder and would need to come back. Annoying, but okay. Said he would come back on Aug 26 at around noon. On Aug 26 I get a call from him at around 10am that he can't get to the right ladder because it's locked up on a site. Ok, I get it. It's a Sunday. No big deal. Says he can come back Tuesday at 6pm (Aug 28). Tuesday rolls around, I rush home from work and he no shows. I call his cell on Wednesday and he says he thought the owner of the company had called to reschedule because he couldn't get to my home in time because of another job. Nope, I never got a call. Okay, set another time for Thursday at 6pm (Aug 30). Again, I rush home from work to make it by 6pm and YET AGAIN he no shows. This is unprofessional, inconsiderate, and has been a complete waste of my time. Will not be working with this company moving forward. read more

I recently hired Exterior Solutions to perform a complete tear-off of my roof. Their estimate was right in line with other companies, if not less. I chose them because I heard so many positive things, not just because they gave one of the cheaper estimates.I was incredibly pleased with the work performed. They are so easy to work with (I LOVE contractors who text and e-mail rather than just call - so much easier for me). They even did our gutters at a great value.What really sealed the deal for me was when they installed my skylight. A younger employee (maybe early 20s) came to finish the interior; seal and stain the wood. At the end of the day I heard a light knock on my side door. In a very friendly, polite and even shy way, he asked if he could borrow my vacuum cleaner so he could clean up his work area.
