After a day or so he contacted me with the problem and solution, gave me a projected cost, after a few days he called and said the jeep was ready, upon retrieving my vehicle I was pleasantly surprised as the estimated cost was actually considerably lower. I do not recommend I had my Pontiac towed there transmission broke they had it for 2 1/2 weeks cost me $3644.00. They leave the keys in the cars parked outside I had one of my door handle covers swapped rear driver doesn't match. A small red cover over the fuse box was broken I also started getting a clunking sound when I turn so as I was checking things out I found driver side tie rod leaking grease and it was only a year old with 1600 city miles on it also the driver side cv axle had sprayed grease all around leaking under the band they should've noticed that being they had to remove it to take the transmission out but that wasn't the clunking sound turns out my rack n pinion bolts were loose again it was a year old with 1600 miles on it if it would've come loose would've happened sooner. I know my car inside and out as I normally do all the work this is why I don't trust shops but they did do a great job fixing the transmission read more

I have no idea where ALL of the 'negative' comments and low scores have come from regarding this business. All I can think is that they are competitive businesses or friends that own competitive businesses. From start to finish I experienced NOTHING but professional, courteous, straight forward conduct from the personnel that I interacted with. This shop, IF, they were scammers could have taken absolute advantage of me regarding what needed to be done to my car. They did not! As a matter of fact the cost of 50% less than I had been told by someone else who looked at the car. Absolute high quality service both in respect to the work performed on my car and the interaction with the personnel on the phone and in person. I have nothing but GREAT things to say about this company! My wife called Express Transmission at 4:30p to say another auto place said the car we were gonna buy had transmission issues. The other company said do not buy the car! The guy who answered the phone at told her to bring it down and they would get to the car first thing in the morning. She dropped off the 2004 Caddy and was greeted by their friendly staff and a Boston terrier named "Bullseye". (We are assuming it's family owned by the puppy and little girl running around) She was surprised there was no fee for the diagnostic and left the car in hopes the damages weren't gonna be high! She got a call the next day basically stating they tried hard to find what the other company was taking about, however the car checked out great! We decided to leave the car another day and have them do a transmission service. I feel this company is more than fair, thorough, and reasonably priced. Called for a quote on my 01 Honda Accord transmission rebuild. The price was reasonable so I brang my car in. Very good customer service, friendly. Took a week and a half to get my car out, which was fine. However, I did have to bring it back due to some leaking from the transmission. They were very professional and fixed it within a couple days. It happens. Overall, I was very satisfied with my service and I would definitely come back. My transmission is nice and smooth. 1999 Dodge Ram 2 years after the rebuild, I had an issue with the transmission having difficulty staying in overdrive. Steve and his team went through the prescribed diagnostic steps. The failed part was an aftermarket device installed by the original owner 18 years ago. Steve was extremely (more than) fair with the final bill. I will definitely use Express Transmission again. 1st visit: After getting totally ripped off by Lodi Aamco (now Becker Mech?), I came here for yet another transmission repair. They fixed up my linkage problem quickly and for less than $300.00.. I was happy. Thanks! 2nd visit feb 2018: I had yet another transmission issue. My overdrive light kept blinking and I lost other dashboard readouts. I did the usual YouTube troubleshooting and checked what I thought was the right fuse, to no avail. The crew there discovered it was a minor issue and fixed it up for me quickly. Good job! read more

The place are totally sucks. First of all, they rebuild the transmission on my mustang, cost me 2800 bucks. Guess what...some strange sounds and vibration came out which NEVER happened before!!!! Then I took the car back to there and asked them to check it again, make sure everything was installed correctly. But they just told me "it's not the transmission problem, it's suspension" But I went to other two repair shops, they both told me it's 100%not the suspension problem. Eventually I gave up... Not Feeling to great about the service I dropped off my truck for my appointment to just have a repair diagnosis on my' 94 GMC C3500 on Monday morning at 0800. My car started making this horrid loud grinding noise when my daughter took it out one night. I went to Rick's auto repair and asked if they do transmission repair, he said no, because it was a specialty, but gave me the information for "Express Transmission" he said he has heard a lot of good things about them and recommended me to go there. Had to get my car towed to shop and tow truck driver said he took his personal car to Express transmission before and they did good work on his car. Well I was convinced, two separate people recommended, so I decided to take my car there. Dropped off my car and got the diagnostic for GRATIS!!!! (That is Spanish for free:) and thank Buddah it was not my transmission, it was my axel, they called me to let me know the good news and I gave them the go ahead for the repairs. Two days later my daughter is back on the road as happy as can be!!! 6 month/6000 mile warranty on the work too. Believe me these people could of ripped me off, (told me it was the transmission, I'm clueless about cars) but they didn't, and that really means a lot to me. I'm really glad I listened two the the two people that referred me and took my car here. Staff was super friendly and informative, answered all my questions. The office is nice and clean, they also have a free candy (this was a plus to my daughter) If I ever do have problems with my transmission (I pray I don't) I will definitely bring it here again. 2 1/2 years ago my "service 4 wheel drive" light came on. A friend from church recommended Express Transmissions. I took my Yukon XL there. They found out that I had a transfer case leak along with something to do with the crank [?] $1700 later and all was well. Left feeling good about the job but more secure about the 3 year 50,000 mile warranty. Fast forward to two weeks ago and I'm getting my tires rotated and the technician says "Ma'am you have a REALLY bad transfer case leak". Oh no not again. I found my old paper work from Express and checked to see if it was within the 3 years..nearly 5 months left...check, checked the millage 3,194 miles left...cutting it close but it was within the 50,000. Took all my paperwork with me and my "your not going to take advantage of me" attitude and drove down. I just KNEW they were going to make it hard on me. They asked me to leave it for a few hours so they could take a look and since I had my warranty paperwork I was told there would be no charge to diagnose the problem. Wow good strike number one. They called about 4 hours later and confirmed it was a transfer case leak and they would need to tear it apart, fix it, seal it up and put it all back together. I asked how much it would cost...and I swear I about fell down...they said "nothing, it's covered" OK good strike number 2. Two days later Erica calls and says "It's all fixed, come and pick her up". I was still leery thinking once I got down they would say "Oh yeah by the way we found yadda yadda yadda and you owe us a gazillion dollars" Got to the office they had me sign the proof of work papers and handed me the keys. The paperwork said I owed them zero...but I asked how much it would have cost and was told it was around $935 WOW good strike number 3. Drove her off the lot and my "Check 4 wheel drive" light came back on. Good strike feelings are staring to drop by the second. I made a u-turn and drove back in. Went to the office told them what happened, and they had one of their lead mechanics come take a quick look thinking it was just the sensor that needed to be re-set. He tried to re-set it but some codes kept showing up. He asked to drive it back onto the lifts... and visually inspected....something LOL sorry I don't really know what he was looking for or at. He comes into the office and tells the office manager that when they were putting the case back together they accidentally broke the [reading my paper work] Transfer case output speed sensor stored in the Powertrain Control Module. They informed me that they would need to order the part, but I could take my truck home for the weekend. Brought it back this morning bright and early. 5 hours later they called and said it was ready. Came back down to pick her up. I asked if the sensor was under the warranty....technically it wasn't due to it had not been replaced with the original work 2 1/2 years ago, but the likely hood that they broke it they would pay for the part and waive all the labor cost. Wow good strike number 4. I will always be grateful that they stood behind their work and their warranty. I will have ZERO problem suggesting Express Transmissions to my friends and family. I wish all auto shops would step up to the plate like these guys did. As the rating says..."Yeah...I'm a fan" Thank you everyone at Express Transmissions!! read more

I took my mitsubishi here in 2009. This owner a complete schemer. Took advantage of my inexperience in transmission. Spent over 3000$ for them to "rebuild my transmission." They originally told me it would only take a week. My car ended up in their garage for over a month. When I got my car back, I still felt it was having issues. I tried to take it back to have them look at it and they would only tell me that it's due to the fact that it was rebuilt and that I should have paid for a new one to be installed. Bunch of theives. Came here to have some work done. Everything was fine until I got a call back telling me what the problem "could " be and what it "could" cost. Now I understand that things cost but I'm not stupid. They tell me one thing, I know better for the other thing, instead of entertaining me and doing what I asked they decide to charge me to just look at it and say the other thing. The cost would've been the same but now I'm having my car towed with no work done. Just a paper of what could be wrong. Even though I know damn well it's another thing! I only came here because I didn't want to do the work myself In the first place. I went to a mechanic to get my wife's SUV looked at and my transmission took a crap on me. I got quoted a really good price from the mechanic I went to first, decided to take it to Express Transmission, got there before closing and left my vehicle there over night so the owner Steve could take a look at it first thing in the morning. Got a quote by the afternoon and gave the ok to do the work. Big thing that sold me was the 3 year, 100,000 mile warranty that came with the job. Did I spend more then the first quote? Yes and I'm glad I did. The owner Steve and staff were very friendly and helpful. Had my vehicle back in a timely matter. I have a piece of mind knowing the work was done the right way and with a really good warranty. Don't take your vehicle else where when it comes to your transmission. You really do get what you pay for. Don't be a cheap when it comes to getting work done. read more

Took in my 04 Durango because it was making a strange rattle/grinding sound. I thought maybe the torque converter or transfer case. I sat and waited (2 hrs.) that day for them to do a free inspection but the way the sound was traveling they couldn't really tell where it was coming from and asked if I could leave it. I couldn't wait that day so I dropped it off the next morning for them to check it out. They dropped the front drive shaft and found the knuckle (like a CV joint) to be bad. They called me and asked if they could send it to the drive shaft shop and I said send it. The next morning I received a call that the bad knuckle had ruined the drive shaft and couldn't be repaired. They were able to locate a drive shaft and have it installed on that second day in the shop. I really can't understand some of the negative comments about communication because they were on top of keeping me informed all the way. If I ever need this type work again I will definitely be returning again. read more

But a year later my friend brought her car in and started complaining about the prices and the fine print when I asked where it was there was no surprise. Initally I didn't like the process. I was bummed - my car was no longer drivable and it was going to take about $3000 to fix. I could get a rebuilt replacement tranny for about the same price, but the warrenty on this was substantially better. I've brought the car back now twice and both times the repairs have been without charge, even though it may or may not have been related to the actual work the originally did (a sensor whose wire goes near the transmission went out - the sensor & wire were replaced at no charge. A gear started to have some hesitation - the car still ran fine, but they still repaired it). So far, I haven't found this level of commitment anywhere else in the automotive repair area. The area the could do better is on keeping you updated on the progress. Plan on an extra day or so to get the work done right. As someone who's been burned before by places that say they are going to fix the problem, but then a bunch more problems show up later (along with the extra bills), I am really glad to have these guys around. Someone once told me that quality doesn't cost, it pays. Here is a prime example. read more

If I could give Express Transmission a negative star I would. They had our car in their shop three different times over the course of a couple of weeks. They couldn't diagnose the problem, even after over $400 worth of work. They have lots of glossy brochures and billboards (obviously they are spending money on marketing materials and not where they should be on training and equipment). Finally, in frustration we took our car to A-1Transmissions on Sanguinetti Lane. They accurately diagnosed the problem within about 30 minutes (it may be because they actually drove the car). It was a speed sensor, not the transmission at all. I'd go out of town before I took any vehicle back to Express. read more

Express Transmissions replaced the broken transmission on my 2000 Dodge Caravan with a "rebuilt transmission" that NEVER worked properly. I spend valuable time, effort, and approximately 3000 plus dollars taking it back and forth to the business. It kept breaking down, I surmise that they did not adjust it to be compatible with the Dodge's computer system. I really don't know. All I know is that I spend a lot of MONEY and DID NOT get what I paid for. I even reported them to the Better Business Bureau only to have them LIE about what they did. I ended up having to donate my van and purchase a newer car. I felt that they practice unethical and dishonest business practices and I was utterly stolen from because I did not receive what I paid for. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this business. read more
