It's a long story but my new 4L80E transmission that I purchased from another shop burnt up on me , Lodi transmission came highly recommended. Lodi transmission pulled my junker transmission out, rebuilt it and reinstalled it and Ron got on his laptop and made sure everything was happy ! I had a fantastic experience at Lodi transmission with every employee but Ron was the one I interacted with the most and his experience is unparalleled, This shop may or may not be the cheapest in town but you get what you pay for ! I highly recommend this shop , I'll never go anywhere else . read more

Lodi Transmissions - Great shop - Auto Repair Near Me - Lodi, California

Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Updates every step of the way. Easy to understand breakdown of work required. And the cherry on top, they finished my car almost a week earlier than the quoted time, because they knew I had urgent need of my car for a pre-planned trip. Transmission rebuild came with a 100,000 mile warranty. God forbid I need to use it, but if I do, I know I'm in great hands. Thanks again, everyone! read more

There is a reason this shop is rated #1 with 5 stars. I sent my car for a second opinion and quote for a new transmission. The service and follow up was phenomenal. Jesus at the front desk called me every single day with updates. I didn't realize they did a lot more than just transmission. Highly recommend and I will be using and recommending in the future. Accurate diagnosis of the problem and fixing was amazing. Very courteous service. My car broke down on the highway traveling from Portland to Los Angeles. And they fixed it right away. Thanks read more

i'd like to update this review. I had an issue with the charge. Ron gladly gave me a partial refund, integrity. Thank you.

I took my vehicle to this place thinking they could fix my car and after 3 weeks they kept charging me different stuff back and forth almost got $6,000 out of me and when I picked it up they had emptied my vehicle and left me no gas in my car, looks like they went on a joy ride very unprofessional shop and couldn't even fix my car. When I called the shop I told them they emptied my gas how do you expect me to take it anywhere. At least they could fill back up my gas how I had it instead they just put my original parts in my car. read more

Lodi Transmissions did a great job for us with our 3500 Dodge Ram...the best part was that our transmission did not need any work. They were also able to rule out some other causes of our troubles. I I highly recommend them. read more

I am from out of the area and broke down in Lodi. My vehicle was towed to Lodi Transmission, late on a Friday night. Turns out I had blown my engine. Despite the fact that this is a Transmission shop, they found me a new engine, quoted me a price and did the work after a few delays on my part. They were quick to respond to my calls, they even came in on a day they were closed so I could come in and collect my vehicle and pay my bill since I was coming from out of town. I would recommend this company whole hearted. Excellent customer service, above and beyond. Thank you guys! Mary B. read more

SIX STAR SERVICE! Can't say enough good things about Ron and his whole crew. As professional as it gets! We were stranded and got towed to the shop, and even though they had a full schedule, they managed to do some detailed diagnostics, and get us up and running again. The attention to detail and thorough job these folks do is remarkable, where other shops would turn and burn repairs and rush people out, they took the time to ensure the diagnosis and prescribed remedies were accurate and there were no other issues that might impact our travel. Ron even checked out my suspension and explained the error codes, and everything they did. I really appreciate their honesty, transparency and getting to learn a little bit about how things work. Really great people here! They also get extra points for letting us hang out with our three dogs in the waiting area while they worked on the vehicle. read more

My car was making a rattling noise when I engaged the clutch under high RPMs. Within a day they had diagnosed it as loose muffler connection, fixed it and sent me on my way with a VERY reasonable fee. Other shops would have taken advantage of me and my ignorance and expensive sports car. These guys were excellent and provided great service and communication. read more

Six stars! Seven! Brought in my late model Buick SUV that another shop had diagnosed (for a healthy fee) as having a serious transmission fluid leak, a complex and expense repair. Lodi Transmissions found that stray motor oil from a recent service had coated the underside of the car, including the transmission case, making it resemble a transmission fluid leak--which it wasn't. They cleaned it up and didn't even charge me anything for the service. It doesn't get better than that. read more

Lodi Transmission goes about and beyond Customer service and Vehicle service. I have a 17 year old Jeep Grand Cherokee that had multiple problems. Rear main seal in the engine, cooling fan that didn't work, the neutral switch didn't work, the transmission needed complete service and a few other things. I am really impressed with the job that was done on all services in a timely manner and the quality of the repairs. Also with everything that was done it was very reasonable price. Thank You!! read more

I brought my 2001 Toyota 4Runner in for a transmission rebuild because I read the good reviews online. They gave me a good price (I had received other quotes) and they finished in a week. Here's the best part- when I came to pick it up the stereo wasn't working (it was a blown fuse due to jump start) and I asked them about it and it was 5pm closing time but they spent the next 45 minutes working on it until it was fixed - and it wasn't just one guy sticking around to help but a whole crew. This place is solid and classy. And I would recommend them to anyone. read more

Had these guys build a transmission for me and the turn around time was awesome thank you Lodi transmission Chris and crew

Extremely knowledgeable and fair. My truck had a unique problem and they over did their diagnostics for the same price and showed me ohms and things in detail and explained it to where I even understood! The whole staff are very pleasant and honest. They did my wife's FJ last year and it was excellent. I'm not going anywhere else. Good job you folks!! read more

I had a service code come on my dash warning me of my transmission. Was talking to one of my friends that highly recommended Lodi Transmission. I scheduled an appointment online. I got a call promptly, I was able to explain my issue and Jose got me an appointment right away. After the inspection, everything was explained in detail and very friendly! Thank you everyone that helped out today. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! read more

The dealership told me my engine had a major leak? But the transmission were the codes on the check engine light? I took it in they found the leak they had to pull off the top of the motor? The leak was 2 O rings on the transmission cooler? After driving the car for 6 weeks after they fix it . The transmission is good! read more

first i yelped around , this place had the absolute most reviews and 4+ stars i started questioning immediately lol. I was won over when i read another reviewer say she went in and realized that the good reviews were true among many others. Jose helped me throughout my process and kept me updated. Upon waiting my turn to get helped you will see many awards surrounding this shop. The awards that stood out were it's a AAA approved shop. i'm a AAA premiere member so i was surprised and happy to learn that i got 10% off labor. They are busy! i walked in to get an appt made for a diagnostic for Wednesday- it was Monday. i go to leave in my car and i can't shift it out of the gear. (i needed a new transmission bad) i go back and tell jose.he says leave it here today if one of my appts cancels i'll fit u in and he did. It took 2 days for a diagnostic they're really busy. they helped me out greatly, got a aaa discount, felt confident in their work. would recommend and go back again! read more

What a pleasure doing business with them . Listened to our concerns and went above and beyond with their service. Thank you Chris and staff.

called had to wait a week to get our car in, then after a whole day they call and tell us it will be $350 for a diagnostic and that wouldn't go towards repairs!! Out for money!! read more

Called asked questions over the phone. They gave me clear straight answers. Told me to just stop on by they would "fit me in". Showed up the next day. They were busy, however just like they said they'd " fit me in" that what they did. They gave me clear straight advice and answered all my question. With no actual appointment I was in and out in no time. For a business that is busy they went above and beyond for me in short notice. read more

A few days ago I went into this transmission shop with my 14 month old to get the 2 week check up done of my husbands rig. Everyone was absolutely wonderful! They let my child walk around their front office and even offered him chips and cookies. We were there for only about 30 minutes. In that time my toddler threw chips everywhere, ate two cookies and got extremely dirty. He basically destroyed the front office. I was getting ready to clean everything up, but was told that they would take care of everything! It was a pretty magical experience! Thank you so much Larry and Jose for helping me entertain my son! You guys rock! Also thank you for completing rebuilding my husbands transmission!! We are looking forward to going camping soon read more

About that transmission service you have been putting off... I know your mechanical neighbor Quando Smackmakian has been offering to do your tranny service for some time and you have considered letting him do it. He's a sharp cookie and knows how to do most anything. After all, he does have a roll of duct-tape around his radiator hose and an empty can of BBQ'd beans for an exhaust-tip on his '58 Chevy truck. Well, I'm going out on a limb here, but if getting the proper temperature, getting the right amount of transmission fluid out of your tranny, getting the right tranny type of fluid back into the old rock-crusher, getting the proper/required NEW filter back in and hoping it won't leak, then check this out before you hand over that $100 bill to "Tranny-Tony". Here's what worked for me... My Lexus LS 460 L had 85K miles on it and information and Lexus recommended full transmission service before 100K miles. I watched several youtube videos on this type of service and talked with friends and looked on line for the best procedure. The parts and synthetic WS Trans fluid is about $110. A local Toyota dealer said the trans "Flush" is $267, doing the Full service is at least double that. I called and visited about 3 local transmission service companies and found one that appeared to be busy, clean and able to answer questions about transmission service and care. I chose Lodi Transmission for all those reasons. Initial questions were answered with courtesy on the phone by Jose. The day of service I met the two owners, Larry and Ron. They were friendly and offered a ride, if needed, until my service was completed. Both owners explained the service and gave information about what was needed, how they performed their examination and how each step was carefully applied. The service took longer than I was expecting but, I was never felt like the technician/mechanics were standing around, chatting, smoking or drinking mochas. As the service was being completed, I paid the amount that was that was estimated and signed my credit card receipt. As the car was being backed out, Jose said, sorry the amount charged was wrong. Uh OH! This doesn't sound good; Yes, he said your car didn't require as much fluid as first thought, so there will be a refund of the amount that was not used.? Excuse me; you're saying the amount I agreed to is too much and you want to give me some money back... Well, yes. Toto, there are still honest businesses out there... Whew! If You want a good experience for your tranny and who wants to be stranded along Highway 99? Then go see Lodi Transmission. Thanks, guys. Great job! read more

This is a review that I've waited over 3 years to do because I wanted to see what would happen after the 3 year warranty on the replaced transmission was done. I had bought a used car from Stockton Auto World and after 3 months I started having issues. In the summer, I turned on the A/C while driving on the freeway and the car jerked and the check transmission light came on. The car continued to drive and the check transmission light went off once I stopped driving the car. Again, the A/C was on while driving on the freeway and the check engine and check transmission lights came on and the car jerked. Worried I sought multiple mechanics. A couple said it was electrical and a couple said it was the transmission. I brought my car into Lodi Transmission based on a co-worker's recommendation. They told me I would need to replace the transmission. It was going to cost me over $7k. Sadly, I chose to replace it. Fast forward over the next 3 years after doing so, I experienced the same issues over and over again. Every time I took it in they told me they couldn't find anything wrong with it. While the lights kept on flashing and the car jerked after time I was on the road and couldn't go over 60 mph because the car was struggling, they couldn't find anything wrong. This last time I took it in summer of 2019, the person who inspected the car told me it was an electrical problem! Did not offer me any options at all. So, with heavy heart I have to give this company some kind of star, but this review will hopefully help someone see that when you're in need of honest help, you may or may not get it. read more
