On my way home and had a Donut jones, so I yelped the nearest donut shop. Express Donuts came up. This is your typical mom and pops Donut shop. Same selection has most to offer. I had my apple fritter. The fritter was very good, warm, soft inside, but crispy on the outside, gooey frosting, and just enough apples. We love this local donut shop in the West Valley, every time we want donuts this is he place! The staff is very friendly, the donuts are very fresh and not overly sweet and over powering you know?! We were visiting this area of town and decided we would like a donut. We checked Yelp and it led us here. We tried several selections and were very impressed by how light the dough was and they were all very tasty. We mentioned this place to a few friends who live here and they all knew it and said it was their favorite donut shop in the area. Good recommendations all around. While we were here we visited twice. We probably sampled six different types of donuts and they were all very good. read more

Bubble teas and sweet sweet carbs... The West Valley doesn't have a lot of good options for people who like nonstandard Asian fare. Growing up in Taiwan for a while, my bubble tea intake has been limited to trips to Chandler. No more! And my little girl loves the donut holes with her taro boba slush once a week. I may be giving her diabetes, but she's a happy kid. The staff is very nice and works to accommodate. My hope is that they will do well despite the lack of street advertising. We customers will need to put the word out so they stay in town. The Avondale Sports Center area would be even better as a location! Imagine: A butter burger from Culver's + Express Donut bubble tea. Finally! Boba in the west valley! They have a large variety of smoothies and drinks as well as some DELICIOUS donuts! I of course tried the Taro with boba and not only is it a beautiful shade of my favorite color, purple...it was absolutely DELICIOUS! My lemon filled donut was also really good. The young lady working the counter was very friendly and helpful. I really hope this place makes it! Locally owned and that is what I support!!! read more

I think this is the first time I've given any business five stars. First let's start with my father's review since he doesn't yelp. He stated the place has a new customer. My dad wanted the bear claw to "taste" and confirm the validity of the donut shop. Well they won him over. The little apple surprise in the middle of the bear claw was the kicker for him. The donut shop reminds him of his childhood. Bravo!!! I ordered the original donut. When I check out a new donut spot that's my signature go to item. Well it was delicious. It was better than KK and Lamar's. I even had a glazed donut which was yummy. When I want a donut this place will be the new spot. The donuts aren't pretty but taste damn good. I'll take taste over presentation any day. read more

Every Sunday morning I stop in and buy 6 old fashioned glazed donuts. 1 for right after my workouts for the next 6 days. I have lost over 150 pounds and yep... I eat a donut every single day!! I prefer this place not only because the donuts are amazing but because they are family owned and use quality ingredients. Can't get better than that! read more

This place is a perfect example of why people should gravitate more towards locally owned businesses as opposed to corporate owned chains. The donuts are top notch and reasonably priced. They make the donuts fresh, which beats your quick gas station donut on the run. I got a dozen donuts and my two favorites were the strawberry glazed cake donut and maple long john. The cake donuts are incredibly moist and the regular donuts are very light and fluffy with the perfect amount of frosting. This place also offers smoothies and teas with or without boba and espresso! read more

If you are deciding to get some donuts this is the place to be! No ifs ands or buts this place is hands down my favorite donut shop in all of AZ. They have excellent customer service so much so my first time there I felt like I had been there since they opened. Coming home after deployments this has become a tradition for me to visit and grab a dozen with a Thai Boba Tea. read more

These donuts are amazing!!! Also, the workers are really sweet. I tried the blueberry donut that they have because of comments I saw on here about how good it was and MAN... they were right! I can't even describe how yummy it was and blueberry wouldn't be my go to! The donut was just so moist and on point! Also the blended Thai tea is so bomb! Tastes like they use coconut milk (not a fan) or something for the base which I wasn't expecting but it still tasted amazing! Thank you guys! read more

Wow! First off, I would like to say that I am a donut lover. I loved Bosa but it's too far from where we live. My go-to spot is usually DD but that gets old quick as well. I woke up craving cinnamon rolls this morning (6 months pregnant) and searched for a legit cinnamon roll place besides Cinnabon (it's too sweet). Now, I've been to this donut place before but every time I come, they're always sold out and only have donut holes left. I finally made it a mission to come early today and try their donuts after reading all the reviews. It did not disappoint! The donuts are so fluffy and delicious! The cinnamon rolls are the bomb! I love how the cinnamon rolls and apple fritters are included in the dozen box with no extra charge. This will definitely be my new go- to donut place from now on. Half a dozen only costs $5.50 tax included. You have to come early tho because they sell out fast! Love this place so much! Thank you for satisfying my donut cravings. I love this place. When you walk in you can smell all the right smell and then look in the display cases and a smile comes out. This is the real deal with doughnuts made in the back like you expect. Lots of variety to choose from and good coffee. If you have a few people in front of you it will give you extra time to examine each case. Don't forget to check out the lower shelf as you maybe surprised. read more

These are the best donuts I've found! The cake donuts were very moist, not dry and heavy. The raised ones were fresh and light! They were very busy and the young lady that waited on me was very pleasant apologizing for the wait but did not try to rush me out. Customer service like that is hard to find these days. Been here before and the amount of donuts was just leftover pickings. Third time coming in and this time I came around 830 and they had lots of donuts. There was a line but with the two girls both taking orders it wasn't a wait. Gave me a minute to start on my selection. They were soft and flavorful and when I take them home I wonder how long they will last. I plan on have the boba drink next cause half the people there was holding one. read more

The area is sketchy due to all the druggies hanging out next door, we even saw the bicycle dealer delivering his product. I'm sure that's to fill a request for more breakfast items, but they're going to be heat-and-eats, get real people. If you're looking for a quality sandwich, go to Chompies or McAlister's Deli.

In fact, I've made the hour-plus drive each way more than a dozen times just to visit. Whenever I find myself anywhere in the West Valley, this place is a mandatory stop. I've taken countless photos of my visits because there is always something new to see, taste, or admire. Under its new ownership, New York West Bakery has evolved into a wonderfully unique fusion-style café. The menu is delightfully unexpected, featuring everything from traditional breakfast favorites and homemade tamales to incredible Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwiches. If I can dig up some of my photos, I'll add them because these sandwiches deserve their own spotlight. The transformation isn't limited to the menu. The Interior: Spotlessly clean. During one recent visit, I watched an energetic staff member carefully mopping the floors and making sure everything looked perfect. It's obvious they take pride in the place. The Exterior: They've added a charming outdoor patio complete with colorful umbrellas, comfortable seating, and newly planted trees that will provide even more shade as they grow. It's a fantastic addition and makes for a relaxing place to enjoy a pastry and coffee. The Food: Where This Place Really Shines When New York West Bakery gets it right, they absolutely knock it out of the park. Their fruit tarts are hands-down some of the best I've had in years. They're fresh, beautiful, bursting with flavor, and surprisingly affordable for the quality you're getting. Best of all, everything is made from scratch, which shows in every bite. The newer savory menu items are also a huge win. Their Vietnamese Banh Mi sandwiches deliver serious value. They're enormous. Honestly, one sandwich is big enough to share and still leave you feeling satisfied... or at least leave just enough room for dessert. And speaking of dessert, I have to mention those fruit tarts one more time. They're that good. My wife Lucy absolutely loves them. In fact, "love" might be an understatement. If fruit tarts had a fan club, she'd probably be the president. New York West Bakery continues to grow and evolve, and it's exciting to watch. Between the friendly atmosphere, expanding menu, beautiful patio, and from scratch-made baked goods, it's become one of my favorite hidden gems in the Valley.
