So, everyone here is a hard worker and they are honest and upfront about what they can do, what they can't do, and how they can meet you halfway. Very reasonable staff members and very accommodating as well. The manager is very sweet and works very hard. She is also very professional and cares about your service. I was here months ago and I had a young black American woman who was a nail technician doing my nails, she was more advanced (able to do more nail styles with complexity). During this time, all of the workers except for one could do any advanced styles. So, we have to go somewhere else for advanced styles and techniques. (I am a plain Jane while my niece is moreover looking for nail extensions and elaborate styles. So this place works for me). Otherwise, if you need a classic, elegant, or simple manicure and pedicure with a beautiful atmosphere, complimentary drinks, and pleasant staff, this place is for you. In ATL for a birthday party and had the opportunity to get a pedi and mani from Expo Nail. My only regret is that I didn't get the techs name who did my feet and hands. I got the herbal pedicure that comes with a foot massage and it's the best pedicure I've gotten in a long time. The way the tech scrubbed the bottom of my feet to remove the callous. This place was awesome. My sister has been coming here for 3 years. I'm visiting from the Seattle, WA area and my sister wanted me to experience their great service. They removed an ingrown toe nail for her the day before her surgery and she was so grateful. What a waste of money. Update my pinky nails broke literally the next day. I can remember when I had a broken nail before especially with get nails. I'm sad. They need to be more careful. I hate to give this salon such a low rating because ALL of the ladies at Expo were SUPER nice. The salon was very clean and inviting. Parking however, is EXTREMELY limited. Cars were circling, waiting for someone to pull out of a space. My score is completely based on my individual service that day. Sooo, I visited Expo about 3 weeks ago. (sorry, I'm catching up on my Yelps!) The young lady who did my pedicure, I don't remember her name, but she was very sweet. However, I almost stopped her and requested another technician. It was later explained to me that she is new to the salon, but came from another salon. If you ask me, I was the first pedicure she'd ever done in her entire life. From the very beginning, the way she clipped my nails, it was as if she'd never clipped nails before or even seen a pair of nail clippers! I get regular pedicures so my nails are not long. The entire process took a long time and was very...awkward and slightly painful. Also, in the beginning I requested a paraffin pedicure. She had no clue what that was. The other technician tried explaining it to her, she still didn't understand. So she told her to come get her when she was almost finished and she'd walk her thru it. Well turns out I never got my paraffin because they'd forgotten to turn on the wax that morning. I wasn't however too upset about it though because I'd already been there so long getting that pretty awful pedicure. I was just ready to go at that point. Honestly, I probably will try Expo again, I'd just get a different technician. If it's better, I'll update my score and review! read more

Came here on Friday afternoon to treat myself and my mom to a mani & pedi. Called to make an appointment for the both us for 4:30pm. We got there slightly early and were seated right away, however only one esthetician was available to work on us. Tina started on my moms feet. I waited patiently for 20 minutes before I asked Tina if anyone will be coming my way. She wasn't sure and kept looking around as to get someone's attention. 30 minutes passed, still not a single person start on me. They were very busy but at the same time, I DID make an appointment. There should have been availability of at least two estheticians in that case. Vivian finished with her customer and came over to work on my feet. Both her and Tina had no clue that we were also getting manis and kept asking us as if they did not understand. Vivian moved onto another customer after finishing my pedi and I had to wait a few minutes for Tina to finish my moms mani to start on me. Before she started on me, she did seem annoyed and even sighed and said "I'm so tired". Okay? Is that my problem? Tina was very nice but to exclaim that out loud made me very uncomfortable and I asked if she'd be able to do her work on me because I don't want to be rushed or have her perform very poorly on me because she's "tired". I know I have no business coming in the first place because of the pandemic and blah blah but STILL. Service is so important, especially when you need the business the most. I've come here several times and the last couple of times, the workers were both unprofessional and super unorganized. I'll definitely not be returning. read more

This was my second time in here. I went on here on a whim during my daughter's ballet class next door for a fill in, and had a great and quick experience with beautiful nails as the outcome. So then I decided to go back. This time it was for a fill in and pedicure. It was on my birthday and my family was trying to surprise me, so wanted me out of the house. I got to the salon around 3:15. I go into the pedicure chair at 3:30. I didn't leave the nail place until 7:30. I unfortunately missed and messed up all plans that my kids and husband planned for me for a birthday dinner. The young girl who did my pedicure took over 2 hours. It was painfully long. I got a deluxe pedicure-I mean, that should not take more than 45 minutes, maybe 60 minutes if they are really slow. But I can't even begin to describe how long this person was. It was like they never had done anything before and didn't know what to do at all, everything was soooo slow. Not to mention, the plastic protective cover in the spa broke, so my feet were tangled in it for quite a while until someone else just came and took it off. Leaving my feet in the non protected or cleaned out spa. Which threw me off that they didn't just move me. Finally when she was done, I got seated for a manicure where I was told pretty much everything I wanted they couldn't do. (Even tho there are photo reviews with styles I wanted-ombré). I got switched during my fill in to another technician, right after she already filed down everything after the fill in, only to get someone who started all over with filing and buffing. So much wasted time. Then when I said that I likely won't be back, instead of asking me why...she replied with 'no you will, you like it!' 4 hours of really uncomfortableness and with nails that weren't even strait. It was not worth the $120 that I spent and the 4 hours there. So disappointed that they didn't think there was anything wrong with it. read more

Another new nail salon opened in the neighborhood. That makes 5 basically at one intersection, an embarrassment of riches I guess. I've tried them all and this one is great. Hardly any customers on a Sunday but better for me. I received immediate service. The nail polish is located at the rear of the location which is a little odd or maybe I should just say different from every other salon I've visited. And another thing that was different was that there was no big push to up-sell me...nail design, eyebrow wax and the like. As a matter of fact, nothing at all. I really appreciated that. I have natural nails and often am pushed to get gel or SNS, and typically more than once each visit. I asked for a "classic" manicure and pedicure and that's just what I got. It was very refreshing and a great mani/pedi to boot. They offered a beverage as soon as I was seated and were pleasant and professional throughout the service. Update, I returned and now will not be going back. The owner was not wearing a mask and it made me very uncomfortable especially during this surge. I just feel that if you ask your customers to wear a mask, out of respect you should do the same for them even if its not busy. Not to mention he was sniffling and coughing so that made matters worse. I didn't like my nails but I just wanted to leave because I felt uncomfortable not to mention he was close to me telling me I should get SNS. My nails started peeling off after 4 days. Total nightmare. The top left image is what I wanted done. After waiting for a bit, Tony reluctantly started on my nails. The whole time he acted like he was waiting for one of the techs to finish with their client and take over, but that didn't happen. The shaping was horrible. I had to ask him several times to please correct it. I needed assistance finding a color like the photo but he just told me to pick something. I endes up picking a translucent color because I had no clue. As he was painting my nails (gel polish), he must have dripped nail polish on my fingertip, and the light cured my skin to the tabletop!! He was also using the light they normally use for feet, not hands. So now the skin has been ripped off my fingertip and he goes to get the glitter. The photo clearly shows purple and blue glitter. Besides bringing out rhinestones and beads he brings over red and green glitter. When I explained that wasn't at all the color I wanted be argued that it was. At this point I told him leave it, forget it.... I paid and got the heck out of there. Now I regret paying because it really was that bad. When I got outside I saw that the polish was weird and lumpy and there was still OLD polish visible under the new!! (Gold shown in photo) I ended up having to go directly to another nail salon to get it fixed. I have never had a tech glue my finger to the table before. Just awful. read more

Pedicure was good but the manicure was not. The lady was rushing and I hate that. She didn't clean and buff the nails good to get the old gel polish off. Color was sloppy. She didn't ask me what shape I wanted on my nails and proceeded to do round. I hate round and like a fool I didn't speak up. When she painted two coats I decided I wanted 3. She got an attitude and act like she didn't understand why. The color was so light I could see through my nails. Definitely won't be back. This was my second time trying them. read more

My husband and I were looking for a new nail salon. We had been going to the same salon right around the corner (Nail Protect 1) as we noticed a change in how some of the employees were treating us, and not in a good way. We always tipped very good and gave very generous holiday "bonuses." When asked where I got my beautiful manicure (pink and white) I would pull out one of their business cards and write down the name of the lady who did both manis and pedis for me for around 10 years. No more! Having not gotten a pedicure since February (thanks to Covid-19), we looked on Yelp and figured we would try Expo Nail Spa. They had good reviews and when I called at 3:30 on Sunday afternoon, I was told they weren't too busy and I said we'd be there around 4:00. We were greeted by several smiling faces. I told Kim who we were (she was the person I spoke to earlier) and asked that whoever did my husband's pedicure, that they would be really good at working on ingrown nails. Tina did my husband's pedicure and Sue did mine. They were both really lovely ladies, took pride in their work and wanted to make sure that we were happy with their work several times during the pedicures. Tina (she is off on Wednesdays) did such a great job that she took care of both ingrowns on my husband's feet before he even talked to her about it. Sue (works Thursdays to Sundays) did a superior job on my pedi. The salon was at a comfortable temperature, we got to sit in our own "section" that was separated from the rest of the salon, the music was at a good volume and everything was very, very clean. The employees weren't speaking to each other in a loud voice. Customers were very relaxed and not complaining about the work that had been done. We are so happy that Expo Nail Spa is close to our house (there are at least six nail salons at the Five Forks Trickum/Killian Hill intersection.) But more than that, we're happy that we have found our new nail salon! read more

My pedicure was wonderful and my ingrown nails were taken care of and without pain or bleeding that had happened at other salons. The staff is friendly and helpful and skilled. I have gone to this nail salon since nail salons opened up in 2020. Usually when Kim or Tina have done my nails they have turned out great and the customer service is amazing too. Lately when I've been walking in to get SNS Tony has done my nails. He's always had a rough hand, never been gentle, and always agitated for some unknown reason. Today i had called at 2 pm asking for Kim to get manicures for my sister and I. Tony suggested that i come in at 4:30 so i said ok no problem. Since my sister and I both wanted Kim, Tony said it will be one after another and if i was okay with waiting and i said yes. I did arrive to my appointment 10 minutes late (i called an uber and have no control over a ride not being close by). However when we walked inside Tony came to the door asking us if we called in for a 4pm appointment and i said no u said 4:30 and we are here for Kim. He said Kim has already left 15 minutes ago you guys are late. First off that makes no sense how can a tech leave earlier than our appointment time?¿ Then we proceeded to say okay we want to get SNS done; Tony snapped in front of everyone and said "you asked for a manicure not SNS". Whenever i have called to make an appointment i always say manicure over the phone and specify when i walk in. After that i got a very loud and rude lesson on the difference between what manicure means and what SNS means and the time it takes to do each. When i said okay he snapped even louder and said "No let me finish". He wasn't doing anything and could've explained it nicer and just taken us. We had the other techs staring and the customers. One customer even said "i don't know what mood he is in today". But it wasn't just today its every time we walk in. Today Expo Nails has lost a loyal customer due to unprofessionalism, rude customer service, and plain ole disappointment. I did not appreciate being yelled at in front of everyone at all! However if this is close to you and you would like to get your nails done please only go to Kim or Tina! They are wonderful and really friendly. I absolutely LOOOOVE this place. It's clean, the ambiance is very soothing and calm. They have very soft music and several TVs with close caption showing everything from movies to news to reality tv. The staff is welcoming and consistent. Everyone that I have encountered had a personable and professional attitude. The prices are great and they offer several services. Everything from classic, deluxe to hot stone and even organic mani and pedi available. And the best part: The instruments used are opened right in front of you and they have the plastic wrap to go inside the pedicure bowl that is disposed of after each client. When they initially opened, I loved it. My gel manicures started chipping early so I stopped going. I recently started going again. This last time, I brought my mother in law. I called ahead just to see how long the wait was and the male owner hung up on me. I was so shocked that I called back. When I got there, they somehow knew it was me. Between myself and my mother in law, my bill was over $100. Initially I wanted SNS but ultimately decided to get a gel manicure. The entire time the woman was taking care of me, I kept asking if it was a gel manicure because she wasn't using a UV light to dry them. I thought that maybe this was a new technique. When she finished, she realized that I wanted gel and she'd done a regular nail polish manicure. She basically had to start my nails all over. From there, I knew it wouldn't be great. It hasn't even been a week and my nail polish needs to come off. It's been peeling since Tuesday (I went on a Saturday). I'm truly disappointed and do feel like I've wasted money. I was very pleased with this salon and will make it my regular place. It is very clean. Very peaceful (as in NO TV blaring though it was on, with subtitles); calming piano music.
