Bait and switch is accurate in my opinion, as well as people speaking a foreign language in front of you, when they clearly speak and understand English. NEVER again. Bait and switch. They have a special Monday through Wednesday $20 for a full set of acrylic nails. However once the tips are glued on and you tell them the length, if it is anything longer then the end of your finger they charge you extra. Nails were not shaped evenly and had to continually ask them to correct (whether to thick, tips weren't squared evenly) part of the tip was rounded and the other part squared. I definitely would not recommend them. I am going back to who has done them before even if it means I have to drive 30 minutes. read more

I'm from CA and I came across Exotic nail on yelp. I got my acrylics done by Mary. She was not only polite but she was very quick and did the shape exactly how I asked. The new location is a lot nicer, has better lighting and they have a bunch of new polish colors. The downside to them moving and getting these new products is that they have raised their prices and seem to be trying to pinch every penny out of the customer. The second to the last time I went, I was quoted a price for a service, so when I went in again for said service, Mary told me a different price and stubbornly wouldn't budge, stating "that's what all the other nail salons around here charge." Based on the reviews my mom and I decided to go to this salon and pamper ourselves before we left for vacation. We don't get our nails done often, so this was suppose to be a real treat. I got the exotic mani-pedi package with gel nail polish, and my mother did the same but with hot stones instead. At first the service was great! The staff was super friendly and the salon looked very clean. When they gave us the gel color swatches - there wasn't a lot to choose from, and once they were applied to your nails the color was a lot different. When our nail technicians were finished with our spa packages, we were not impressed. My mom was accidentally burned by the hot stones twice AND they both somehow forgot to add clay mask with the warm towels on our arms. Don't even get me started with how my arms were massaged after the manicure, it was so sloppy and not even a massage. (However, I was pleased at how my guy cleaned up my callous and cuticles where-as my mom's were not done so well.) Once we finally came to the end of our experience, I was pleased with how nice and even my manicure looked. My mother however, you can see its a bit messy and some corners are not painted. My mom had to constantly tell her where she made a mistake, and still my mom came home with slightly messy mani-pedi. Overall, when paying so much money ($150 including wax, NOT TIP) we expected perfection. Instead we had a lacking spa experience, and my mother's nails were done sloppily. read more

For me, there are two reasons to get a manicure. One being PAMPERING, and there are many contributing factors that figure into this: 1) AMBIANCE- Exotic Nails had little to none. It felt crowded and uncomfortable, almost claustrophobic. 2) RELAXATION - Jodi did a nice job at engaging in conversation and was very nice, but the hand massage was only so-so, and very fast. 3) CUSTOMER SERVICE - I was greeted right away and the person was friendly, but I had to wait about 10 minutes. To be expected as a walk-in on a rainy day. 4) COMFORT DURING SERVICE - Wow...thinking about this, I may have been overly generous with two stars. (I went back upon writing this and changed it to a one star experience-as that is appropriate). Other shops soak your old gel nails off-- here, they use one of those old fashion rotary sanders. I should have walked out at first sight of this. I can't imagine that they change the sander every time, so I doubt it is sanitary, especially if the person before you had a fungal infection. Yuck. But it also hurt. I have a high pain threshold but this burned! I could actually smell the burn. The gel was applied on the sides of my nails and bonded to the skin, and also went under my nails and bonded there as well. It was very uncomfortable for days. The second reason for a manicure of course is for the aesthetic aspect. MY NAILS LOOKED HORRIBLE. I honestly think-strike that- I KNOW I could have done a better job with one of those at home kits. My old polish "bump" looked ridiculous, and it also had a couple of sharp bumps like a piece of nail shaving was painted over. And although she let the gel overflow to the sides and under my nails, she somehow managed to leave a 2 centimeter gap that looked like two weeks grow out at the back of my nails. The final thing I want to say is that they overcharged me by $7. I didn't catch it until I looked at the menu later because I was thinking that it was pretty expensive considering the outcome. My daughter immediately at seeing my nails urged me to go back and have them fix it, but it wasn't worth it to me. Just chalked it up as a lesson learned. read more

They have all options and colors for colored gels (shellac, gellish, axxium) and are very clean. The business is also very clean and cute....the walls are painted and creative. I've searched for a good place to go to have my nails done for quite some time. So happy I found this place! It is VERY VERY clean and trendy! Mary has done an excellent job with my nails! I've taken many members of my family there for pedicures and manicures and I have to say they all are very good! I highly recommend this salon! Also, the location works nice since you can just pull up in front of the salon and walk in. An advantage over going to the mall locations. They have lots of pedi chairs so you can go with a group! read more

After reading Yelp posts I decided to go to this nail salon so I made an appointment 3 days in advance. The next day I realized that I needed to have a later appointment and phoned to change the time to one hour later. When I arrived at the Salon I was told my appointment was for 9:30 not 10:30. I was also told that I had been contacted but when I got home and checked my phone there was not a message. I was then told I could only be accommodated at 1PM that afternoon when this nail salon supposedly accepts walk-ins. I did not understand but perhaps there was something about my appearance that made this salon not feel they needed to make accommodations. I went to Solange Nail which is close by and received excellent service and was even offered a complimentary beverage - I would not EVER go to or recommend this salon. read more

I was super dissapointed in the mani and pedi I had from Mary. She was "faking" doing my cuticles and skimmed over them and also totally didn't even bother doing it for my left hand! I basically paid to have my nails painted, she rushed through and didn't bother doing the most important things in a mani and pedi. Not going back after such a bad experience. She also didn't even bother putting in the toe separators which I thought was very odd, ended up having a smudged nail as a result. read more

Worst manicure ever. The manicurist was an older women. She seemed grumpy the whole time, except when she cut my finger. She put something on it to it stop the bleeding. OUCH!! It hurt, but didn't stop the bleeding. So then, she polished over the cut. Yes, it swelled after I left and I had to remove the polish and clean it. She used a battery operated grinder on my cuticles. I was lucky more wasn't cut. I had a gel manicure. Two weeks later when I removed that polish, I sadly learned that she ground a seam into each nail. It took quite a while to grow out. When the seam got above the finger tip, the nail broke. It took two months for the recovery process. I was just too angry to even go in and complain. I never imagined that a neighborhood salon could be so awful. read more

I went here today for a brow wax. Only $10! I was greeted immediately upon entering and waited all of 5 minutes when they finished up with an existing customer. Wax was quick and efficient- was out of there in 15 minutes. I will be going back. read more

Beautiful place, I came in last minute preparing for a same day road trip- i forgot the gal who did my acrylic manicure, sorry. She quickly sat me down and got straight to work, i got to know some info on her life while sharing some of mines, she made me very comfortable and while i was getting my nails done another gal came over and suggested i got my eyebrows corrected (LOL) so she whipped me into shape while i was still getting my nails done! I've been going to Exotic nails for about two years, and have never had a bad experience until recently. Lately, the staff has been rushing through appointments and even when you make an appointment in advance they still will make you wait. The last time I was there I was initially charged $25 for my pedicure and left a $5 tip. A few hours later I received two calls and two texts to my cell phone that the charge was incorrect and they were now adding $25 to my bill, thus charging me $50 total for a simple pedicure that only took about 20 minutes. I have worked in the service industry before and realize that mistakes happen, however, I feel that it is very unprofessional to contact a client multiple times for a charge that they entered in incorrectly. I am unimpressed with this unprofessional behavior, and would recommend to people to look elsewhere before going to Exotic Nails. read more
