Navy (owner and my stylist) remembers what I need and want- a bottle of water, a pillow behind my back, the colors and nail length that work for me. Lims Nails is great! I got a gel manicure for the first time in awhile. I usually get acrylics, but I am wanting to grow out my natural nails and Rashka was more than happy to help me with this! It cost me $27, and I tipped $5 for a total of $32 for the whole gel manicure. I would have given 5 stars if she didnt ask if she could skip the massage, but she did haha! She kind of seemed rushed. This is really difficult for me to write because I have been a loyal customer of Lim's nails since they opened almost ten years ago (my very sister helped Lim find the location for his salon). However, I was compelled to share the recent experience that I had, as I believe it's important for the owner, Navy, to understand that treating her customers in the manner that I was treated yesterday is unacceptable, bad for business, and just plain rude. I've written one other review in my life, which was positive, so for me to be putting this out there is telling. My mother purchased a gift certificate for my birthday upwards of $140. She is also a customer there and wanted to treat me to a gift she knew I'd enjoy, as I recently was laid off. I have referred countless customers to Lim's nails - virtually all of my friends go there as well as their friends and so on. Lim is no longer the owner of Lim's nails. The ownership has been transferred to Navy. So my story... I misplaced the gift certificate that my mom gave me at my house and could not find it. However, my mom still had the actual receipt for the purchase. I brought the receipt in to get my nails done and told Navy my story, however, she would not honor it and sent me away without getting my nails done. She was also rude and disrespectful to me - from what I hear, this is her typical state. While I understand every business has policies, I have been a loyal, longstanding customer for years, not someone who walked in off the streets claiming to have a gift certificate. Plus, I had the receipt from my mom showing that it was paid for with a credit card! To say that I am saddened and disappointed by her decision is an understatement. I like the nail technicians there and most of them do a great job, however, I, unfortunately, can no longer support and give my business to a place that can treat their customers the way Navy treated me. Not to mention, the couple of times that I did have Navy do my nails, she cut into my cuticles too much and caused me to have pain and ingrown nails. If you read some of the negative reviews on this site, you'll see that most of them are directed at Navy. I hope that Navy can learn from her mistakes and redirect her energy to treat people with kindness and respect. read more

Let me start off by saying looking at this 2.5 rating is simply mind blowing to say the least! I've been going to Lims since the shop opened going on two years. This shop is very personalized to Lims fantastic eye for design. Everything you see here was hands on by non other than Lim. LIM (the owner) does my gel manicure. Lims Nails has been open for going on two years. However Lim has been doing nails for over 7 yrs. I'm there faithfully every two weeks. I must say this is by far the BEST nail establishment I've ever experienced and this is coming from someone who's been getting their nails done for a very long time. Not only does Lim and his crew of dedicated workers provide excellent service they also provide a comfortable, relaxing, professional, clean and friendly environment. Lim takes his time, I've never felt rushed in any way. He is a true perfectionist he is so pristine and stops at nothing to make sure your satisfied before u leave. My nails look so perfect people are surprised when they learn these are my natural nails because they look too perfect to be real but they are! I've referred several people to Lims and they love it just as much as myself. Lim has a well established clientele and if u know him you'd definitely have to admit that once you get into his chair whether your a walk-in or appointment, this is YOUR time. Lim doesn't deviate from you in anyway. Kim is great as well. Her and Lim work side by side so she has learned from the best and trust me, you'll be pleased with either of them. Sam does my pedicure and is outstanding, he's very detailed, takes his time each and every time. I LOVE LIM'S! I've been getting my nails done for years at all different places (Twin City Nails, Honey Nails, Cupid Nails...) and NONE of them compare to the customer service, care, and quality you get here. I'll never go anywhere else. My gel manicures are flawless (and I'm picky) and would last 3+ weeks every time if I didn't change them. They also know how to remove a gel manicure without destroying your nails which is awesome. PS - Most of the negative reviews on here are about not being able to get a walk-in spot. After my terrible pedicure from Happy Nails in EP, I was anxious to find a quality experience for my mom and 2 sisters before my brother's wedding. I was between V's Nails and Lim's, and I went with my gut and chose Lim's. I took the advice of other Yelpers and made an appointment for a Friday afternoon: 3 pedicures and 1 gel manicure. Well ladies (and gents I suppose), Lim's did NOT disappoint. Wow. We arrived a few minutes early and took our time picking out colors, but were quickly seated for our appointments all at the same time (always nice when you had a group!) Each of our nail providers were kind, professional and did a great job at both asking us questions that made us feel comfortable and welcome, while also giving us time to just chat with each other and enjoy the experience. We all felt totally at ease and relaxed immediately. The service was wonderful too! We all commented after that it was one of the best experiences we have had at a nail salon - very long foot soak/massage/scrub and the polish jobs were fantastic. I have complete confidence I won't need another pedicure for at least 3-4 weeks, and possibly only then because my nails will have grown out. The price was reasonable too - though you can get a pedicure other places for $20 or $25, the $27 price tag is completely worth it for the quality of work here! This is my GO TO nail place. There is literally no where else that has better manicure/pedicure quality, and whenever I get my nails done here, it last light years longer than every other place combined. I got my nails done (gel manicure) the beginning of the month from another place, and they fell off within a week - snagging on everything and peeling off. When I got a get manicure at Lim's, they never fall off unless I try hard to peel them off myself - they just grow out with my nail. My mom has always swore by this place, and of course I'm always stubborn and say I'm going to a place closer to home instead... but now whenever I get my nails done, the (a little longer) drive is worth it. I thought I had crossed all my T's, I read the reviews on Yelp thought I had found the perfect nail shop walked in was pleasantly greeted picked up a business card and chose a polish color, guess NOT. Made an appointment at LIM'S NAIL SALON for an acrylic fill and a pedicure, The workmanship on the fill was so poor when ( NAVY ) my technician inquired of the color I wanted on my toes for my pedicure I said we can cancel the pedicure, washed my hands ready for my polish paid my bill and handed NAVY back their business card that was her TIP. my appointment was at 2 PM it is now 5 PM the nail polish was so OLD it is still not dry I guess tomorrow when I go to Walmart I'll have to step into their salon and get a polish change. I've tested them for over a year - and everyone is talented - going the extra mile so that my nails look better and better each time I go. Lim's used to be my favorite place to go for a manicure or pedicure. Now, however, I will never go there again. The last few times I've gone, they always cut my cuticles and say, "Oops...sorry" and giggle. This last time, they not only cut cuticles on one toe and one finger, but they also exfoliated my feet raw (I don't have feet that need a lot of exfoliation) to the point where I had three open, bleeding wounds. It was right before I took a trip, so I had these wounds rubbing and reopening every time I'd walk. Three weeks later, one of them is still very red and irritated. It's either infected or it's going to be a huge, nasty scar some day. I do not at all recommend going here. read more
