He answered so many of our questions and helped us with everything we needed. He even came out to the house and checked our water, cleaned the tank (we bought a friend's established tank), he went over all the equipment and got us up and running. No high pressure sales at all. He is laid back and very easy to deal with. We will be giving him our business over the big chains stores. The displays of livestock were amazing and owner Roy's personal not for sale tanks were up there with displays you might see at a city aquarium. I am currently setting up a saltwater tank and was looking for live rock with checking out possible lifeforms. The customer service was over and above exceptional, even telling me to give the rocks time to make the tank ready when I mentioned what type of crustaceans I was interested in buying. That they were more concerned with the tank being ready adding creatures than making more sales immediately was mind blowing. Felt more like hospitality than shopping. When I mentioned I lived about an hour away, the owner double bagged with plenty of water to be sure everything would arrive in good shape. Prices were more than reasonable on living creatures, especially on some of the corals. I definitely will be back to get what I need on each step of putting this tank together. Thanks, Guys.

The employees were super friendly and knowledgeable, especially Jim who helped us in the saltwater department. They have a lot of beautiful fish, coral and other saltwater creatures. We ended purchasing some cleaner crustaceans at the advice of Jim to help keep our new aquarium clean. We purchased Mexican turbo grazer snails, emerald crabs and a Goby. We also purchased a pair of Banggai Cardinalfish but unfortunately one didn't make it. The only thing I couldn't understand is why the floor was so wet in the saltwater department. First time I experienced that in an aquarium store.

I have never had a plant or animal from there die on me, even with notoriously delicate species, like pink lady nerites, and licorice gourami. the live food bar is a life saver for my picky spoiled animals, and plant selection is also crazy - they will definitely be the biggest plants, for the cheapest. I've gotten some plants that would have run for $40 from a hobbyist, for under $15! if you are shopping somewhere else, you're missing out. despite having 5 petstores closer to me, i always make the trek out to elite menagerie.

Being newer to the area, I asked for LFS recommendations and checked them out. However, after having my first phone conversation with Louise from Elite Menagerie Habitats, (which lasted 45 minutes) I knew I had found my store. Like me, Louise runs her local small business solo and has committed her life, including every waking moment of her spare time, to her cause. She is one of the most dedicated entrepreneurial women business owners I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She is ridiculously knowledgeable, resourceful and charismatic. She is a true professional. She does expect the customer to do their research, which as a research enthusiast, I fully respect, and prefers not to spoon feed customers information that can readily be googled in an effort to save all involved both time and energy. This methodology is just one part of her efficiency that makes it possible to keep the store running, website/marketing posts updated and tanks looking immaculate!
