I needed to…read morepurchase Fromm Dog Food for my dog, and upon searching for registered retailers on the Fromm website, Amwell Pet Supply came up. The small, privately owned shop is chock-full of ALL your pet needs (and wants)! A great selection of food and treats that are actually GOOD for your pet! I found what I needed easily, stopping every few moments to "talk" to a little friend on the way. There are a few kittens, cats, birds, guinea pigs, hamsters and fish on premise and you can see the owners love animals by how clean the cages are, and the little notes on the cages telling you a bit about each animal is an adorable touch! At checkout, the shop owner, Hope, was very kind, and helpful, not to mention extremely knowledgeable. She told me a bit about the brand of dog food I was purchasing and how she met the owner of the brand. She shared some information about the brand and it was very helpful to know! I shared that my dog was recently ill and how I suspected it was another brand of dog food and Hope helped me find out who made the other brand and gave me helpful advice on that as well! She shared information about the shop's customer loyalty card (spend $100 and get $5 off your next order) which is always great, and also shared with me a program that Fromm brand has that offers a free bag of food after your 12th bag as long as you collect the UPC codes. Saving money is always great and I truly appreciate Hope helping me to do just that! I am very happy to have found Amwell Pet Supply. I will be shopping here from now on! Plus, shopping here is supporting small businesses! It's a win-win! I highly recommend shopping for your pet at Amwell Pet Supply for all your pet needs. You won't be disappointed!

However today's experience totally sucked to be honest. We came in to buy a goldfish. We've bought three goldfish from here before. To start, the employee didn't greet us, seemed annoyed when asked about the fish, and admitted she didn't know much about them then also said she won't catch the smaller fish because it's too hard... We picked a goldfish similar (same size and colors) to the one we bought in July for $10.99, but the tank pricing didn't have an extract price matching description for the goldfish we picked. Instead of trying to figure out what to do herself the employee called the owner, Hope, who said it was $14.99 (that price was not listed on the tank for anything). When we mentioned the price July, Hope dismissed it, said she should charge $19.99 because it was a large fish from that tank but it was a normal/medium sized goldfish as there were fish much larger in the tank. Only things listed on that tank for $19.99 were XL fish. When we tried to explain our situation Hope argued that "it doesn't matter that the price isn't on the tank and you are only mad because we're not getting what we want." Just wow... terrible customer service skills from a business owner... Honestly I feel it's a little silly to be writing a review about this as it was just over $4. But really it wasn't about the $4; it was about the rude, dismissive attitude from both the employee and the owner. For that reason, we won't be back, and I would never recommend anyone shopping here ever.

Bumped into this new groomer while trying to find the bagel place nearby…read more Had a chat with Kyle a couple of days ago and he sounded capable and efficient....both good descriptions of Kyle and his business. Kyle's a very experienced groomer and so I booked Oscar in...Oscar was there this morning. Oscar came out looking just as I wanted and only an hour so for a complete grooming at a very reasonable price. I advise providing a photo of how you want your dog to look... (possibly from a prior grooming...this takes the guesswork out the equation) Kyle didn't charge me for the "love bite" inflicted by Oscar :)...(I did leave Oscar's muzzle with Kyle, just in case...Oscar can get a little scared in new surroundings) No major harm done and Kyle was "hey...goes with the territory"...very nice of him ! We'll be back !... and I'm giving out Kyle's referral cards. WOOF !

The owners are very sweet and I have to commend the male owner for his knowledge in the pet food department. My dog Lilly couldn't settle on a kibble that didn't disturb her stomach and he took so much time to explain the options to me. Really appreciated it! Overall though, it's reallllllly expensive. The clothing for a dog size small is one piece of felt and they charge like $30+ for it. So I don't come as often as I'd like. But great store, friendly, always clean :)

If I lived in the Flemington area, Barkley's would be my go to source for all my pets needs. Hands down! The owner (Andy) is more than just an engaged proprietor -- he is a knowledgeable dog aficionado -- and his well behaved pets roam the store while you shop and make the experience that much more personal. I was amazed by the sheer volume of his stock of super premium and premium products (including everything I use) -- at prices comparable to what it costs me online. Barkley's also supports the local economy by stocking food and products made locally, and organically. My dog loved the place -- he played nicely with Andy's two boys -- earning him a fresh bag of Australian venison treats. There is something organic about a small business like Barkley's in a small town like Flemington that suits me. It is more than just the Americana vibe (that I love); it is also the commitment of the business to do its level best by the customers, human and canine. I like that.

I happened to get get her information from posting on Nextdoor asking if anyone knew a good groomer. Quite a few people said to try SPAW. Long story short...easy to book, cute set-up, great customer service and I will definitely be going back. Oh and I referred a friend that has a pup that is somewhat aggressive. She was some how able to help her with her pup and all has been well on his initial visit.

Don't be tempted by the shiny new Uber Pet Stores with their large space but limited selection. if you know your fish, you will visit Adam's regularly. He imports his own stuff and sells uncommon and good sized animals. North jersey aquarium society members get a discount, too. His frozen and live food selection is unmatched in the State. Adam's is also one of the few pet shops left that sells rare reptiles and amphibians. Plus other small mammals. Adam knows his stuff like few else can, and trains his staff, unlike most Chains with revolving door workers. You will also find a wider variety of brands than at chain stores. His specialty dog and cat foods bring customers from around the area. Don't let the look of a traditional locally owned pet store deceive you. This is the real deal here and worth a visit. If you want to make a day of it, I would advise a morning or late afternoon visit to Willowood in Chester, arguably NJ's nicest botanical garden. It's an old estate including a walking trail through its woods and streams. Lots of trees and plants and flowers you don't see anywhere else. Then grab a bite in historic downtown (amazing charcoal burger at The Public House) and visit Adam's.

This place is dirty, disgusting, and full of dead fish in the tanks, dirtier than you even want to imagine. Petco is luxury at treating their animals compared to this crap hole.
