Wag Happy Pet Salon - Close up of poor face clipping

    Wag Happy Pet Salon

This review is delayed because I wanted to write it calmly and thoroughly, but is in relation to an…read moreinteraction between myself, my mother, and Emily (I think this is her name) at Wag Happy Pet Salon in Bernardsville, NJ on February 6, 2019 in the morning. My mother and I went to Wag at opening time to ask Emily to fix the haircut she gave our dog, Lua, because the cut was very uneven and looked hastily done (the top of the tail is snipped by the rest is still at full length, the face trimming is not even, one set of eyelashes is shaved off but the others are there). We politely asked Emily if there was any chance that she would have time to fix the haircut, fully understanding that she might be fully booked and unable to do so, but trying nonetheless since we arrived just as the salon opened and no dogs were inside being groomed yet. Immediately after we asked, Emily put on a sour face and very rudely said to my mother, yelling: "No, I don't have time. You come in here every time and change what you ask for. You bring your dog in late. And no, I'm not going to fix it, that's what you get." To start with, this was the only time we had asked for a slightly different cut. We usually get our dog shaved down completely so she doesn't feel hot, and this time we asked to keep it a little longer all over just because it was winter. So it's a lie to say we change what we ask for every time. Second, we brought the dog in late once and called to apologise profusely about it after mixing up timings of two back-to-back appointments. We acknowledged the mistake on our side, but to say we bring our dog in late for appointments every time is a falsification of the facts. Above all of this, Emily is disgustingly rude to her customers in what is entirely a customer service field. It's not hard for her to politely tell us that she didn't have time and suggest making an appointment for another time to fix the dog's cut, but to yell at my mother (a woman older than Emily for whom she should show at least the most minimal decorum due to my mother's age) that she wouldn't fix the dog's cut is unprofessional, impolite, crass, and truthfully, not worth our time or money. Beyond the despicable behavior of Emily, there's also the fact that the job she did was very, very bad (one of my dog's nails was also clipped to the point of bleeding - I have photos to prove all above claims). When we pay almost $100 to get the dog groomed and trimmed, and the dog comes back looking like she's gone through a lawn mower, I'd strongly suggest taking your business somewhere else. There's no point in paying so much to be treated like trash and have your dog coming out looking worse than what you could have done with an hour of grooming. I'm extremely disappointed in Wag Salon. They hurt my mother's feelings (she was very shaken up after this event) with Emily's poor behavior and have no sense of ownership of the business to treat their customers kindly and politely or to even be in touch after an incident like this. We are taking our business to Morris Animal Inn from now on and strongly suggest anyone reading this to do the same if they want a good groomer and to interact with kind people. Their facilities are clean, their staff are friendly, they do an amazing job, they don't treat you like you're exasperating them with your mere existence, the dog is happy to go to them, and they always greet and leave you with a warm smile and good manners - both of which are in dire need at Wag Salon, and specifically with the incredibly rude, inconsiderate, and uneducated Emily. Shame on you, Wag Salon, for employing someone with so little tact and respect for other people, and allowing her to perform a bad job and get away with it.

I found Dana & Zoom N Groom on Yelp, inquired for more details, and heard back immediately. Within 2 hours of inquiring, I had an appointment scheduled for the following week and had painlessly texted back and forth with Dana multiple times as she helped me get set up. We have had two grooming appointments so far and will continue to use Zoom N Groom for ever and ever! Here are some basic things to know about Dana and Zoom N Groom: * She LOVES what she does and takes a lot of pride in her business - as she should because she's the best AND her mobile grooming facility is pristine and high-tech. * She LOVES my Rosie so much and will love your dog too. How do I know? She sends me photos and videos of Rosie getting groomed in her van. She texts me later in the day and even the next day to check on Rosie's mood. She brainstorms new strategies on how she can help ease Rosie's grooming anxieties and shoots her ideas over to me so I can better prepare Rosie for grooming day. She has taken the time to get to know my dog and continues to personalize a grooming experience that fits Rosie's needs. * She is kind, patient, and infectiously positive. * Her service price points are unbeatable. * She is truly in it for the doggos and goes above and beyond in every way!

$440.00 for two German Shepards is astronomical for the work that was done, and the damage to my…read moreproperty. Let me explain...I have a Ton of acreage and looking to buy more. People are constantly asking me to rescue and take in dogs when they become too big for them to handle. I had dogs that had an expectable age of 9-12, yet under my care 15-17 years. That's a lot for the large breeds I take in. I always take good care of my dogs. Recently, an individual surrendered his dogs to me as they became too much for him to handle. I was able to only bring one of my dogs to the local groomer before I fell and broke my arm in two places. Mobile groomers have lower overhead expenses, but I understand I'm paying for the convenience. I was able to Groom the first dog (trim coat, nails, ear cleaning, De-shedding, and 3 baths because she really needed it all for $220.00 which included a hefty tip... When I told PawsFurBeauty Mobile Dog Grooming I would like them to trim off just a little bit more than what is normal for German Shepards as its been really hot, and I wasn't concerned with them over heating. My dogs have plenty of room to run around, swim if they want, lots of shade, and come and go as they please... I was told by PawsFurBeauty Mobile Dog Grooming that they will do either all or nothing. That should have been the first red flag indicating they don't know how to groom. I thought about it and 5 min later I came back and asked them to take it off rather than just a bath since that was one of the only two options I had. It was hysterical to see them shaved as I never would have thought they would have shaved my dogs so much. After the laughter worn off, I realized how dangerous that was for German Shepards, and I knew PawsFurBeauty Mobile Dog Grooming doesn't know how to properly groom German Shepards. They shaved them dangerously low. It's my fault for going against my instincts, but it's worse for a professional groomer to even offer that, and even worse to actually do that. In the beginning I stated $440 for two dogs was too much. Its too much because they only shaved my dogs, trimmed their nails, cleaned their ears, and gave them 1 bath. My dogs still smelled bad. You're always going to have a little dog smell, but it seemed like they didn't even try. If my dogs would have came back smelling great, and I could tell they had several baths, I would have been happy. I even said, give them the whole 9 yards, if they need 3 baths give it to them. I would have gladly paid. Obviously, they didn't De-shed them, but they didn't trim their head even a little. It was a rushed job. Exactly 2 hours for two German Shepards is not enough time. My first dog alone took 2-3 hours at the Groomer. Anyways, I could have let all that go, but when a business owners damages my property and doesn't even apologize or say anything that's where I draw the line. Mind you, I have cameras all over my house. They even saw me walking down my driveway right before I took care of the payment. I was chatting with them looking in Michelle's eyes waiting for her to say something. I Zelled Michelle the payment and had cash for a tip, as I strongly believe tipping should always be done in cash. I could tell they were waiting on a tip, but they weren't getting one until one of them mentioned the damage to my lawn. I even gave them the benefit of the doubt to see if they would at least try to come back and fix it. We're on the third day now; I would have been happy if they just attempted it make it look pretty by using a shovel and a gravel rake. It really ticks me off that business owners expect to be compensated more these days with less work, expect tips, but don't want to take any responsibility for their own actions. No way can someone drive on your lawn and not notice the damage that they did. So without further ado, here is the evidence.
