best pet store in the state, hands down…read more louise's selection, and care is completely unmatched. while most fish stores seem to only care about moving product, elite menagerie is invested in making sure all of the fish are healthy and happy, even in their sale tanks. I have never had a plant or animal from there die on me, even with notoriously delicate species, like pink lady nerites, and licorice gourami. the live food bar is a life saver for my picky spoiled animals, and plant selection is also crazy - they will definitely be the biggest plants, for the cheapest. I've gotten some plants that would have run for $40 from a hobbyist, for under $15! if you are shopping somewhere else, you're missing out. despite having 5 petstores closer to me, i always make the trek out to elite menagerie.

All kidding aside, I was looking for something relaxing to sit in front of while the weather is not conducive of being outdoors, to glance over at while working on my website, marketing, product making, etc. Having owned several salt water reef tanks before moving to PA, and not wanting to deal with salt creep any longer, I decided to dive into freshwater planted, and never looked back. Being newer to the area, I asked for LFS recommendations and checked them out. However, after having my first phone conversation with Louise from Elite Menagerie Habitats, (which lasted 45 minutes) I knew I had found my store. Like me, Louise runs her local small business solo and has committed her life, including every waking moment of her spare time, to her cause. She is one of the most dedicated entrepreneurial women business owners I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. She is ridiculously knowledgeable, resourceful and charismatic. She is a true professional. She does expect the customer to do their research, which as a research enthusiast, I fully respect, and prefers not to spoon feed customers information that can readily be googled in an effort to save all involved both time and energy. This methodology is just one part of her efficiency that makes it possible to keep the store running, website/marketing posts updated and tanks looking immaculate! She has guided me each and every step of the way in my freshwater planted tank journey. She has helped me make educated decisions on plants and livestock, based on my equipment, yet always keeps my budget in mind, never once pushing me to purchase anything unnecessary. I should also mention her prices are beyond fair and her inventory is constantly evolving, always healthy and fully stocked. And if she doesn't have it, and it could be found, she'll find it! She genuinely cares for her fish and invert friends- she even names some of them and has adorable nicknames for them too! Whether you are local or not, check out Elite Menagerie Habitats. You won't be disappointed! And if you're too far, check out her website- shipping is very reasonable if you are in the area! Thank you, Louise, for being an inspiration, and making my freshwater planted set up a reality, and exceeding my expectations in every way! See you soon, Danielle Happy Friends Farm

What stood out the most was just how knowledgeable they were. Whether it was about the different species of fish, the types of tanks, or the best plants to complement our aquarium, they had answers to everything--and more! We were particularly impressed with their attention to detail, patiently guiding us through various options based on our specific needs. They didn't just try to sell us the most expensive items; instead, they genuinely listened and tailored their recommendations to ensure we had everything necessary for a thriving tank ecosystem. The store itself was well-stocked with virtually every type of fish, plant, and tank accessory you could think of. We never felt like we were missing out on anything because they had such a wide variety to choose from. It's clear that the staff's expertise and passion for aquatic life make this more than just a store--it's a place where both beginners and experts can learn and find exactly what they need. I highly recommend this fish store for anyone looking to build or upgrade their aquarium!

Lance is a wealth of knowledge and so accommodating of our multitude of questions. Go Fish has an awesome array of fish, including some we've never seen or heard of! Lance spent time showing us the dinosaur fish and explaining the purpose of each of the different plant life and driftwood he had in stock. We are absolutely thrilled with our first 2 fish and can't wait to head back in a week to continue stocking our new tank. While I am not sure of the going rate for fish, the prices seemed extremely reasonable. If that doesn't tell you what a valuable experience we had, and how thrilled we are with our new fish, I don't know what will!! Thank you guys for great service, selection and value!
