I am verrrry fussy about my dogs -- the quality of their food, grooming, health and accoutrements…read more Most box stores don't suit me -- so I primarily source via the internet. If I lived in the Flemington area, Barkley's would be my go to source for all my pets needs. Hands down! The owner (Andy) is more than just an engaged proprietor -- he is a knowledgeable dog aficionado -- and his well behaved pets roam the store while you shop and make the experience that much more personal. I was amazed by the sheer volume of his stock of super premium and premium products (including everything I use) -- at prices comparable to what it costs me online. Barkley's also supports the local economy by stocking food and products made locally, and organically. My dog loved the place -- he played nicely with Andy's two boys -- earning him a fresh bag of Australian venison treats. There is something organic about a small business like Barkley's in a small town like Flemington that suits me. It is more than just the Americana vibe (that I love); it is also the commitment of the business to do its level best by the customers, human and canine. I like that.

The owners are very sweet and I have to commend the male owner for his knowledge in the pet food department. My dog Lilly couldn't settle on a kibble that didn't disturb her stomach and he took so much time to explain the options to me. Really appreciated it! Overall though, it's reallllllly expensive. The clothing for a dog size small is one piece of felt and they charge like $30+ for it. So I don't come as often as I'd like. But great store, friendly, always clean :)

She handled the problem very swiftly and with no trouble at all. Hope has to be the best professional I've ever seen. She even gave me free corn starch to apply to my cats buttocks because it was going to be sore. I can without a doubt say I will go here for the rest of my life.

I needed to board my cat during a 7 day cruise. After comparing options, The Cats Only Inn seemed…read morebest. When I visited, I had a positive impression of the place. I felt they set up everything in a way that made for the best possible outcome for boarding a cat. My cat had a spacious enclosure by a window where she could lounge in the sun. Her enclosure was directly in front of a bird feeder, so she spent a lot of time bird-watching. I was able to bring her a small hut to hide in (and I put my pillow case inside so she could smell the familiar scent of home.) She ate well thanks to their variety of food options (which are included in the price). It's worth noting that my cat isn't the hold-and-cuddle type and has socialization issues. On drop off day, she was clinging to the carrier, hissing and swiping. Staff decided to keep her carrier inside her enclosure until she was ready to come out. I appreciated that they didn't force the cat out before she was ready (and that they stored my carrier for me). I immediately got the impression that this place values both the safety of the cats and the staff. They have been involved with rescue efforts, so staff were not flustered and didn't take my cat's behavior personally. Witnessing that they had the knowledge and patience to deal with a cat like mine put my mind at ease. I also received a couple of text and picture updates on how my cat was doing. When I took my cat home, she popped right out of the carrier and wanted to play. If my cat has any sort of bad experience, she hides for hours or days. Francine was treated with lots of love and kindness during her time at Cats Only Inn. Her stay there also helped to get her a bit more socialized and trusting of new people. Next time I vacation, she will be back for another stay. Thank you to all the staff for taking such great care of my best friend.
